Towards a never ending sky (9)

SUMIRE

The only good thing that came about Yuhi cutting our soul thread was, her never having to deal with the responsibilities that came from being the spirit King's soul bond partner.

"Speaking of things that don't suit me, leading the Holy knights is one of those things." Sumire said.

Aki chuckled. "Are you struggling?"

"Of course I am, you know this is a busy time frame for my career right now." Sumire sighed. "The sooner we sort this issue out, the sooner I can get my life back together."

"But is leading really so bad?" Aki asked.

Sumire looked down at her feet. She wanted to say it was, but hearing his honest question. She knew she wouldn't be able to keep anything from him.

"I never minded leading the Holy knights. It was enjoyable. But, I always knew someone better would eventually come along, When I met you, I knew if something were to happen to me you would be able to take over."
