Chapter Six:

The next few days were filled with tension and awkwardness. Adeline tried to pretend that everything was okay, but she couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal. Jack tried to reach out to her, but she didn't want to talk about it.

Finally, they decided to meet for coffee and talk things out. Adeline was nervous, unsure if she wanted to continue the relationship. When Jack arrived, he handed her a letter.

"I wrote this for you," he said quietly. "Please read it before you make any decisions."

Adeline opened the letter, her heart racing. It was a confession of love, a promise to always put her first, a plea to give him a chance to make things right. Tears streamed down her face as she read it.

"I love you too," she whispered, looking into Jack's eyes. "But we need to work through this. Together."
