Fight against weird rats

Somewhere inside forest huge golden pillar shined to the sky. It caught attention of the whole continent. Some people felt happy and interpreted it as a sign from gods. Some wanted to destroy the source of golden pillar. But nobody did the first move. It was deep inside one of great forests, that was said to be deadly for anyone that come in. It name was Great Sluen forest. Some powerful people could survive in Sluen forest, but were too wary to go alone against thing that produced that golden pillar. They didn't know that the source was girl with long golden hair, and red triangles under eyes. She was wearing long white robe without any decorations. That girl was sleeping on the green moss under the tree, but after few seconds her eyes shot open.

When i woke up, i saw sea of trees. I guess i can't train my new skills after selecting race.When i looked down i saw i was wearing white robe. It was little bit dirty from lying around. Better then starting out naked. So what to do now? Hmm. Let's start out by trying to use (Book of Knowledge). So how do i even use skills? For seconde i tried to imagine book with golden pages and beautiful book cover. Suddenly what i imagine came true, and i was holding a beautiful book just like i imagine it to be. Can i change how it looks? I tried to imagine the book disappearing again, and it did. This time instead of first image, this time i tried imagine almost satanic looking book, and it appeared again. This time same is i imagine it to be. So i can change how to book looks based on what i imagine? That could be used somehow i guess. Well let's stop testing and open it. As i opened a book on first page, i saw something written there.

(This book will record all the knowledge that user can use at the moment. Some things will be locked till user gets enough power or will find something that will unlock needed knowledge.)

This is acceptable. Of course, something I got for free will have some catch. So i must unlock knowledge. Let's remember that. Ok here is first chapter that shows information about me. There on page was written:

Interesting now i'm starting to wonder what is my tool. As I tried to summon my tool, a long metal rod appeared in my hand. I guess i'm destined to be pole martial artist or something. Well like hell i can use this long stick to kill things. I don't even know if i have guts to kill animals.

When i look at my information again, something started to bother me. I'm nameless. I didn't set my name in that menu before. That was big mistake. I should probably fix that. How should i call myself? As i started to think i sit on stone next to me. After longer than I care to admit, something sparked in my head. Erliel it sounded kind of elvelish, but I think as a race that looked like angels I think it might not be that bad.

Of course (Yes). Oh, I forgot to check what my face looks like. Then my first target to find is the river. Not only i need source of water first, but i can look how my face looks too, but first let me look what Pure-blooded Alatus means.

(Pure-blooded Alatus)

(Due to being born from mana in world, your body is 100% Alatus. Usually Alatus aren't pure-blooded due to their home country being destroyed and their blood mixing with humans. Alatus is now extinct because their mixed blood is now only small fraction. Some descendants can still use the Alatus racial ability, but it is very rare.)

That sounds nice, but I'm really the only one left of the Aratus race. Even distant descendants do not have enough blood to be of the Aratus race. Well let's not think about that, it's time to look at next page that should show me where even am i. On the next page I found an ink drawn map. Who would draw a map with ink? Well whatever, where am i? As i look at map i found gold ring that floats in air. This shows my position.. i think? My eyes almost start to water. I'm stranded in the middle of huge forest. There is nothing and only sea of trees for several of hunders kilometers. At least there is a river in close proximity. It's just 2Km from my position. Considering forest terrain it should took me abour an hour.

Few minutes of walking thru forest and i found some weird creatures. It looks like rat but with hedgehog needles in place of its fur. It was bigger than normal rat and weird. Why does it have these needles when they aren't even pointed up. Suddenly it noticed me, and soon it realized that it wasn't alone. There was at least 10 of those thing and they look angry. Do they want to fight? They are not afraid of me?

Out of nowhere, a lot of needles fly at me as if they were arrows. I don't even think as i summon my metal stick. I tried to evade and lots of those needles miss, but few of them hit my leg. From side one of those rats attacked me with their teeth. I swiftly use my rod and hit it to the head. Another batch of needles is coming my way. This time they misses me. As I tried to dodge, my leg started to hurt. One of those rats bit my leg. While two others tried to bit my face off. I swung my rod and hit both and they crash to the tree. Then I hit the one that bit my leg. Four rets dead. Looking at the 6 remaining rats, I realized that they probably need to wait a while before they can shoot needles again. I tried to run and hit them before they could fire again, but it was too late. Another barrage of needles comes flying my way. I couldn't figure out how to avoid them so I swung the rod again. Most of the needles broke on my rod and the rest hit me in the chest.

I know its stupid but what do you want from me?! This is my first fight where in this life. It was painful so i stopped for a second but nothing got too deep. So i just took them out and started to run again. This time i was slower than before, due to having cheast and leg wounded, but it looks like those rats didn't expect me to survive. Most of them sterted to run, but two charged at me. I think they have some that can fight melee and some that can only shoot from far distances.

I got thru the two that were blocking my way like knife thru butter. Its like i got stronger. Because of that little hesitation, the rest of the rats ran away.

I should take the dead ones, as emergency food. I don't want to eat rats, but i should at least take them. First i should look at my wounds. I took my robe off. My bust was covered with bandages instead of bra. When I look down I see my stomach full of small bleeding wounds. It doesn't look like those rat needles were poisonous. There were bite mark on my right leg. Now it would be useful to have something to cover it with so that I don't get an infection from the bites and wounds. Hmm, for now I can use the bandages I have around my breasts. I unwrap them from my body and tear off a piece of it. It was quite easy, as if I was stronger. I guess I'll have to look in the book again if I can't find something.After a few minutes of the first aid treatment, I use (Book of Knowledge) again.

Oh i got something new. I guess i got estimated strength because i wanted to know if i'm stronger. Let's read what these thing do.

Well kind of short but what did i expect? I can find stuff about those rats in my skill right? When looking thru the mostly blank pages i found section called bestiary. There was a picture of the creatures i killed moments ago. It was frighteningly easy when i think about it.

Information: This species can be found in Great Sluen forest. It usually nests around Spirit wells. Due to the fact that there are only weak beasts around Spirit Wells, it is an ideal place for them. They are most often found in small groups. They are not very strong, but they can kill weaker explorers.

First of all aren't i kind of strong? And second, i'm in vicinity of Spirit Well? What is that Spirit Well anyway? It would be helpful if the book told me if these rats are edible. Nevermind, now i have to look for what the Spirit well actually is. I did not find anything. I guess I have to find the Spirit Well first for it to show up in the book. I should find the river first before I look for the Spirit Well.

I tied those rats to my belt of my robe. Right after that, I set off again. Along the way I came across more Needle Rats so I killed them too. Could they be common in this forest?

After 40 minutes of exploring and a few more killed rats, I finally arrived at the river. There were many beasts around the river. Strange thing was that they did not attack each other. Could this be something like neutral area where it's forbidden to attack each other? After another step, all of the beasts eyes was on me. I felt like i should run. Their eyes screamed "MURDER". I guess i'm not welcomed here. I started to run, but some of the beasts started to run after me. All the beasts running after me were rats. If they were few, I would beat them, but what was running after me were hundreds of them. They're probably upset because I have their dead friends tied to my belt.

Needles whizzed around me from time to time. They have pretty bad aim when they run. So the best I can do is run and hope they give up soon. Suddenly an idea crossed my mind. I have a (Summon Tool) skill that can create a metal rod. But no one said I couldn't create more than one. Is it possible that in the future I will be able to create rows of weapons and throw them at my enemies? Let's try creating one in the air and throw it at them. While I was running. I imagined a metal rod above my head pointing at one of the rats. Then I imagined how the rod would fly at high speed towards that rat.

*swish*

Metal rod hit the rat to the head. The other rats were surprised when one of their companions died. While they didn't stopped running, I created three more of the metal rods. Once again i killed few more rats. It looks efective. I kept running, while slowly killing the rat. I slowly started to feel pain in my head. I guess I'm running out of mana. I'm getting exhausted too. I've already killed 7 of them... hundreds left... lIke hell i can survive this. But to my surprise, the rats slowly started to decrease. I hope they are just slowly giving up and that it's not because something extremely powerful is where I'm heading. After few more minutes they were gone.

"I SURVIVED!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Wait isn't this the first time I've spoken in this world? I always spoke only in my head until this moment. Btw my voice is pretty cool. Gentle, but powerful. Smile creeped on my face. I must be beautiful too with voice like this. Hmm, I'll try to get to the river again, but this time not where the beasts are gathered, but somewhere lower. But first of all i should look at my stats.

I probably got this thanks to the "MURDER" eyes of those beasts if i have to guess. Looks like the "summon tool" got an upgrade. So I'm going to look what's new.

(NEW) Due to proficiency in using the "Summon tool" user of thi skill can now summon several of their tools at the same time. At the same time, the user can now use the "Tool Telekinesis")

After reading about the new skills, I backtracked a little and took some dead rat bodies. Of course, I didn't go near the beast infested parts of the river. I'll try to go to the lower part of that river. I hope there won't be any beasts there so I can make a camp there. Btw, if I had to guess, I think the part of the river with the beasts is "Spirit Well", but I won't look it up in the book until i camp myself somewhere, because sun is starting to set. After another few minutes of walking, I finally arrived at the lower part of the river. Fortunately there was nothing.

The first thing I did was to explore the area and I didn't find any beast. Then I started collecting stones and branches and put them near the river. After that I went back into the forest fot a bit, because along the way, I noticed plants with large leaves. I collected a few of them. I will use them to build a shelter. On the way back, I also tore off a piece of some vines. They looked pretty strong, so i will use them as rope. I stucked two long sticks between the trees. Then I took smaller sticks, the ends of which I tied to the two sticks driven into the trees. Finally, I put the leaves with which I interwoven the vines on it. Here we have it. Fast and simple shelter. It's not the best, and it doesn't have walls, but there is no time for that.

I tied the dead rats to one of the ropes that hung from one of the poles holding up the roof. You know what it's finally time for? Its finally time look at my face. I slowly approached the river with my eyes closed. When I finally opened them and looked into the river, I was mesmerized by what I saw. A beautiful face was looking at me from the reflection on the river. There was long dark hair on the reflection's head. They reached a little below the shoulder blades. A pair of golden deep eyes was shining on the face of that reflection. The delicate cheeks boasted two red triangles that stretched from the eyes looking like tattoos. Between the eyes was a small nose, under which were placed small red lips.The face looking at me was... beautiful. This is me now. Erliel that was isekai'd here because she died stupid death. I can't wait to see what this world has in store for me.
