Lady Roose

At the end of the day at Alvira's work place, the whole staff stood in a long straight line, including Alvira herself. They were all called out for the arrival of their Boss who announced to show up with the aim of picking some of the new recruits who will be transferred somewhere else in need of more workers.

The staffs were all tired and exhausted because it was time for them to retire for the day and head to their respective houses. But their Boss did it again.

Alvira had already called Kayla, informing her that she will be home late.

Kathy who was standing with Alvira whispered. "Do you have any idea of what the boss have in mind?"

Alvira slowly rolled her eyes. "Of course I don't, I'm not living in her brain am I?" She replied with a fake smile.

"You would have just said you don't." Kathy replied her.

Alvira only scoffed at her, not wanting to keep the conversation going.

After some minutes of waiting. The sound of heels clicking on the tiled floor approached. They didn't need anybody to tell them who it was.

"Shhh, everyone on your best behavior." One amongst them echoed. And they instantly glued smiles that it took them hard enough to gum on their faces.

"Good Evening lady Roose." All greeted in unison with a quick bow.

The lady who they addressed as lady roose, strolled right Infront of them, she stood with her assistant behind her. Without answering their greetings, she watched them in their bowing state it somehow brought a lot of joy to her seeing them in that position before her.

She gave a smile to her assistant. "Are this all of them?" She asked her assistant behind her while her gaze scrutinized them thoroughly.

"Yes Miss." He responded.

"Hmm Quite a number, good thing I need only a few." She mentioned in a soft voice. But the knew what vile creature was laced in that soft act of hers.

"Like how many Miss?" Her assistant, Denor asked her.

"Mhmmm let me see...How many do you think Ezra will need?" She ask her assistant.

"I'm unaware Miss, pick as many as you please." Denor responded.

"You are right, he is going to appreciate me doing this. You know after firing a few of the workers in his company, of course I have to replace them. And I have just enough workers to do so." Lady Roose said with a tinge of a smile laced in her voice.

The staffs who still had their heads bowed, cringed from that tone she spoke in. Her wickedness was at peak. Firing poor and innocent workers from a company she held no power in? just because she is close to the Boss? It wasn't much of a surprise though. She could do worse.

"You!" They heard lady Roose's voice but didn't know who she was directing at since they still had their heads bowed. And raising their heads without being asked will be something that may send them back to their homes—Forever.

Seeing that none of them raised themselves to answer her. Lady Roose smiled in content. "Obedient much. I like it." She turned to her assistant as if giving him a cue.

"Miss Elna Wang?" Denor took the responsibility to call the names of the indicated ones out.

Immediately Elna Wang heard her name, she sprang her head up. "Yes Lady Roose?" She answered.

"Hmmm I like this one." Lady Roose said gazing at her from head to toe. "How old are you?" She inquired.

"27." Elna Wang said.

"Are you married?" Came the weird question from Lady Roose.

"Uh... yes." Elna Wang replied awkwardly.

"Good choice. You are chosen."

Elna Wang didn't know if she should thank her or not but she just went with the flow to avoid being in trouble. "Thank You Lady Roose."

"You!" Again she mentioned.

"Mr Jin Cheng." As he was called he raised his head.

"You are chosen." Without inquiries and awkwardly weird question he was accepted.

"Thank you Miss Roose."

And like that a few more were chosen. The women interrogated and the men with no questions asked. Of course it was making it more obvious to the mind of the staffs. She didn't want someone who will steal the spotlight from her.

"The rest of you can leave, I'm done here." Lady Roose said to them before turning on her heels to evacuate the hotel with her assistant.

They ones left still bowing including Alvira immediately got up straight, rubbing their aching neck Which have turned sour from bowing for minutes now.

"Such a bitch!!" Kathy spouted out in annoyance when the pain was getting to her. Earning the shock glare of everyone present.

"Who said that?!" The voice of lady Roose was heard shocking everybody. But she was meters away! how could she hear it?"

Alvira and everyone else was in shock. Kathy had only gone weak In the knees. Her eyes stretched in fear. This is it. She had Lost her Job.

"Who said that!" This time it came in an angry roar. "I won't repeat myself, who. Said....."

"It was me!" Kathy whipped her head in shock towards Alvira who had just confess to what she had not done. Her eyes gleaming in guilt, but she just couldn't make herself to confess to it.
