Chapter eighteen

" two cups of tea please" Ariana told the person who'd come to tame their order.

" I don't think this tea is gonna do anything. It's not gonna get us Filled" Cassandra told her.

" Yeah I know that" Ariana said typing.

" Here you go" the waitress said and dropped a tray containing two cups of tea.

" Thanks a lot" Casey said and waitress left

" Casey, I'm suspecting something" Ariana said having some tea.

" What?" Casey asked.

" Throughout today, I've had my key on me but I only remember bumping into one person"

" Who" Casey asked eagerly.

" I don't know his name but he seems to be number one on my suspect least" Ariana told Casey.

" Yeah. But at the moment,the only thing I'm interested in is eating and.

.." 

Excuse me" they were interrupted by another student.

" are you Ariana Wilson?" The student asked.

" Yes. Any problem?" Ariana asked.

" Actually, someone sent you this" she said putting a plate on the table.

" Wow. Who sent it?" Ariana asked eagerly.

" I can't tell." The student said and left.

" Strange" Ariana thought.

" Come on Ari, let's eat" Casey said and they both started eating.

" Casey, I don't know. This for is making me....." Her tongue was becoming numb.

" Ari, what's going on? Your face is turning red and your lips are getting swollen" Cassandra told her.

" Casey" was all Ariana could say before she passed out.

" Ari!!!!" Casey yelled. " Help, help" Casey called out.

" What's wrong?" The students who gathered aske.

" I don't know. She just fainted" Casey said.

" let's carry her to the school clinic" one of the students said.

" Okay, let's do that" and they carried Ariana to the school clinic.

" I'm sorry, this is out of my capability. This seems to be case of food poisoning. I'd advice you take her to the hospital" the nurse told the principal.

" Yes. Someone call an ambulance. In the meantime, please see if you can get in touch with Ariana's guardian." The principal said.

" Ariana" Max yelled running into the school clinic. " What's wrong with her?" Max asked deeply concerned.

" The nurse says it's a case of food poisoning" Casey answered.

" How come? She made her food herself and...." He was interrupted by Casey.

" She wasn't the one who prepared the food she'd eaten" Casey told Max.

" That's not possible. I mean, we left home together so......" Max was confused.

" Her lunch was stolen and....." Beatrice explained everything to Max.

" You look fine so what could've been wrong with the fruit salad.?" Max asked .

" It was just an apple flavored salad. I don't understand." Casey said.

" APPLES!!!" MAX yelled" yeah. What's wrong with them?" Casey asked.

" Ariana's deathly allergic to apples" Max told her.

" Oh my God" Cassandra covered her mouth with both her hands in shock.

* the ambulance is here" they heard a student say.

" Yes." Another replied.

As Casey saw Ariana being taken away On a stretcher, she couldn't help but sob. Ariana considered her a close friend yet, she couldn't help save her life. She felt like the worst friend in the world.
