89 One More Day

The Debt Collector looked into Trevon. "Who are you?" He took out his vial again, the blue glow made Trevon felt afraid.

"Go! Get him!" Master Rabbink encouraged Trevon. "A young master usually wins in the early story. Gwahahaha."

[#%&$! Are you crazy?] Trevon's mind started to think how to get away from this. His portal was two steps away from him.

[Ah!] Trevon remembered one of the heroes. He raised his chest and placed both his hands to his back imitating a powerful master.

"Good!" Trevon tried to make his voice as deep as he could. The young master turned his body toward his portal while nodded. If he had a mustache, he would pretend to stroke it.

The Debt Collector stopped with the vial still aimed at Trevon. However, Trevon's action caught the mysterious attacker off-guard.

"Good!" Trevon took a step while nodded.

"What is good?!" The Debt Collector shouted.

"Goodbye!" The last was shouted after he entered his portal.

[He disappeared?] The Debt Collector felt surprised. [He seems to say something before he disappeared.]

The Debt Collector looked toward the tree. However, nothing changed. Not even the spiritual energy movement could be felt.

[Who is he?] The Debt Collector thought while putting the vial away. [Is he an opponent? Is he a supporter to my cause?]

While the Debt Collector was confused, at the same time in Trevon's universe, Trevon returned to his Core Room.

"That is dangerous." Trevon felt relieved. He felt a cold sweat on his back. "Thank God! I have read the bluffing master's story."

Trevon saw into the monitor again trying to see the Debt Collector. However, his short view range betrayed him.

"You are really a coward. That person isn't a Rank 2 warrior." Master Rabbink complained.

"He is dangerous. Don't you see? He destroyed an entire family."

"However, the Debt Collector didn't have a fallen body or a dead body. That is your best chance. Gah! What a waste of opportunity." Master Rabbink sulked.

"Why should I fight him?"

"Try to find the answer yourself! You will regret this." Master Rabbink said. "Since the Debt Collector has gone, you should take some rest. You can use the portal to your room to avoid trouble."

Trevon finally realized why Master Rabbink asked him to make a portal in his own room. He needed it.

If someone came to Downbridge family, he would find the situation strange. The city would have its security tightened. He would be in a big trouble if he was seen jumping through the rooftop. Besides, he was too tired from the scary show tonight.

Trevon couldn't sleep that night. It was similar trauma as during the demon beast waves.

[I am not a hero. I am not a hero. I am not a hero.] He repeatedly said this. A bit part of him felt guilty for not helping, but he knew it was too dangerous for him. [Yes. Even Rank 2 warrior could not do anything. I am not a hero.]

Trevon didn't know how long he stayed awake before he fell asleep.

Nevertheless, a knocking sound woke him from his sleep.

"Knock... Knock... Knock..."

"Good Morning, Young Master. The caravan is leaving in two hours." Aya knocked on the door to call him. She had grown a bit more confident in these two years since she became a cultivator. In the past, she wouldn't dare to wake her young master.

"What time is it?" Trevon was still sleepy.

"It is already six o'clock in the morning, Young Master." Aya said from behind the door. Her voice was still soft and small.

"Wake me in another hour!" Trevon half-sleep spoke. He tugged the blanket and snuggled on the spirit jade bed.

One hour later, Aya knocked on the door again.

"Good Morning, Young Master. It is already one hour."

"Wake me in another hour!" Trevon still half-sleep spoke. He needed that extra sleep after the Rabbink took him to watch a massacre.

"Young Master, you can't sleep anymore!" Aya tried her loudest shout with her small voice.

"Zzzz... Zzzz..." A snoozing noise could be heard from Trevon's room.

[What should I do?] Aya thought while she stood in front of the room. [I need to call Jonathan.]

She went outside the pavilion to call Jonathan. He was waiting outside with the other bodyguards. They were ready to continue the journey.

Out of the current bodyguards, Jonathan was the most senior. Even if he only joined two weeks earlier than the rest. However, he had grown the slowest since he was the laziest. Trevon also gave him a difficult cultivation technique which required him to eat strange things.

Nevertheless, his time with Jerry taught him the method to survive under Trevon. He was the one who replaced Jerry's position in the team to coax Trevon.

Five minutes later, Aya returned with Jonathan.

"Young Master, a beautiful lady has been waiting for you for thirty minutes." Jonathan said.

"Who?" The young master was sensitive to the words beautiful and lady.

"I don't know, Young Master. She said it is urgent." Jonathan said.

"Wait! I have to prepare." Trevon's hurried voice could be heard from behind the door.

At the same time, inside the door. The sleepy young master suddenly lost his sleepy face. He jumped from the bedroom and took some bathing utensils.

[I only know Ivetta in Hillbridge. I have told her that I will leave this morning. She must miss me already. Hwehwehwe.] Trevon thought while he went to the bathroom.

[He had forgotten last night event because of a girl.] Master Rabbink thought.

Trevon spent thirty minutes to prepare. He would never meet with a girl in a bad condition. The young master took his time to select from several silk robes before he decided with a blue robe with a dark blue outer robe.

He sprayed a masculine fragrance and ensured his new short hairstyle properly styled.

"Where is she?" Trevon went outside his room. Nana was already on his shoulder. Since he had unlocked 'Transfer Demon Beast' panel, Trevon could summon Nana without going to his universe.

"I am sorry. She had just returned to her work." Jonathan easily found an excuse.

"What? She didn't say anything." Trevon was a bit disappointed.

"She said she will miss you, Young Master." Jonathan said. [This always worked. Hahaha.]

"Oh. Hwehwehwe." Trevon laughed and fell into his delusion.

Aya frowned when she heard Trevon's perverted laugh. If in the past Aya had some good images of her young master, during the last two years she had heard of her young master's numerous adventures in Redwood. It was the talk of the town. Every time she went to the market, she would hear her young master newest list gossiped by the young men.

[It is lucky I had that clause in my contract. Qadr didn't have that clause.] She thought.

Unlike Aya, Qadr didn't have a contract that prevented Trevon getting closer. Nevertheless, the girl found the method to protect herself from Trevon. Qadr got closer to Noah. Trevon wasn't a person who stole somebody else partner.

Qadr and Noah became a couple one year ago. Noah was a good qin player, while Qadr was a good singer. They became an item through music and cultivation.

Trevon celebrated the couple. Since he believed this would make the couple felt more connected to The Guardian of Trevon. He even gave a lot joining books to the couple. The bad apple even shared the legendary '100 Hours Get Busy' cultivation technique that he got from Master Rabbink with the pair.

Trevon wanted to know the effect of the cultivation technique. He had read a dual cultivation technique would complement the main cultivation technique. That was the advantage of the dual cultivation technique in every novel. A trait shared by '100 Hours Get Busy'. Nevertheless, the couple hadn't gone that far to the disappointed of the young master.

"We have to go to the meeting point now, Young Master." Jonathan reminded Trevon.

"Yes, you are correct." Trevon looked at the clock in his room.

He came to the meeting point at 07:55. The night worm young master was almost late.

[There are some new wagons.] Trevon saw more merchant wagons parked outside their pavilion filling a huge field in front of it.

Trevon knew that it wasn't strange. Although it would cost a bit more expensive to join the McArthur family caravan. Those merchants preferred to join McArthur caravan under the protection of many powerful Rank 3 warriors.

Trevon and the other young generations of the McArthur family were told to wait in an open tent while enjoying a simple breakfast. This was also a showcase of the family young talents to the merchant's community.

Trevon spoke with Edward during this short waiting time. They traded what they did last night. Of course, Trevon bragged about his performance with Isemeine and the lady's beauty.

Five minutes later a family guard completed the tally and reported it to a Grand Elder.

"We will go now!" The Grand Elder told the group using spiritual energy.

Trevon entered his wagon when the troublemeter called him.

"TUIT... TUIT... TUIT..."

[Sh*t! I forget about this annoying thing.] Trevon took the troublemeter and saw the light stick beeped.

"HALT!" He heard a shout made using spiritual energy.

"NOOOOOOO..." Trevon could imagine what kind of trouble this annoying stick would give him. The troublemeter wanted to delay his coming to the Capital as long as it could.

[I hope it won't be long.] Trevon thought. He walked outside his wagon and saw a group of armored soldiers came to the pavilion. This time they wore a completed battle armor while bringing a long pike.

"Wait! We have to inform you something, Master." Their leader came to McArthur family.

"What?" A grand elder of McArthur family asked. His name was Lewa McArthur and today he acted as the leader of the caravan. He was a Beginner Rank 3 warrior from a city south of Redwood. Somehow the family didn't put Grand Elder Pieter as the caravan leader.

"I am sorry, Master. I want to inform the city gates are closed for people who wanted to go outside." The leader politely answered.

"What is the reason?" Lewa gazed at the captain. Grand Elder Lewa was handsome with a perfect masculine face full of experienced aura. His robe was a simple white robe made from spirit fabric which showed his status.

"I am sorry, Master. There was another accident last night. We will need to conduct a full city search today. No wagon is allowed to leave the city. If it is only your family, we could allow. However, the merchants couldn't go." The captain said. The Imperial families didn't dare to stop the McArthur family, but they couldn't make the exception for the merchants.

"A problem?" Grand Elder Lewa frowned.

"Yes. Could I inform you in private?" The captain politely asked.

"Fine. We will talk trough spiritual sense."

Trevon could see the Grand Elder and the captain engaged in a spiritual sense conversation. From the expression, Trevon felt Grand Elder tried to persuade, but the captain didn't dare to decide.

"Hmph..." Grand Elder Lewa seemed unhappy with the discussion. He went to talk with other McArthur elders. They discussed thing with the spiritual sense for around five minutes.

"We will stay for one more day in the city. I ask everyone to follow the inspections by Imperial soldiers." Grand Elder Lewa announced the decision. No matter what, McArthur family couldn't disregard the Imperial families.

"Yes. Grand Elder." Every guard of McArthur family disbanded the caravan. They would park those wagons back to the pavilion after the examination. Some also informed the merchants about what happened.

A group of Imperial soldiers quickly came into the wagons.

Trevon used the same method to gather news.

"Thank you for the reward, Young Master." One of the soldiers who checked Trevon's wagon felt happy.

"This is what happened yesterday. The Downbridge family disappeared last night. We have even checked all gates in the city since the previous Eastbridge family disappearance. No member of Downbridge family exited the gate." A soldier said with a wonder in his face.

"Yes, Young Master. We have checked all their buildings, every employee of Downbridge family also disappeared. Only those who didn't stay in Downbridge family's buildings are still in the city." Another soldier joined the conversation.

"You didn't find anything? For example, a survivor?" Trevon asked. [Didn't Fourcaut survive yesterday?]

"Survivor? No. Young Master. We have seen some sword marks, ragged clothes, and abandoned weapons everywhere. However, similar to the Eastbridge family, there were no blood or even body parts to indicated a battle."

"Only the ragged clothes felt strange." Another soldier frowned when he said this.

"Yes. Therefore, we could only assume the family didn't go with a fight. Perhaps the Peak Rank 3 warrior attacked their building in disappointment. That master might destroy the things in there since he couldn't find the Downbridge family. We found the trace that the place had been searched and ransacked."

"Yes. They must have run away from the city secretly. As an ancient family, they have a secret passageway." A soldier said in the disappointing tones.

"Yes. This is a secret, but we found an open secret passageway toward the mountain foot in their pavilion. Downbridge Family is also a coward." Another soldier whispered to Trevon.

Trevon almost made a mistake. He had said a survivor. Luckily, those soldiers were eager to give Trevon's information, they didn't realize the mistake.

"You are correct. This makes me feel afraid. Do you know anything about the Peak Rank 3 warrior?" Trevon quickly moved the conversation.

"Actually, this information is originated by some local gangs. Their information is unreliable. You can pay them to spread any rumor you want. We haven't had a clue about the Peak Rank 3 warrior identity. However, to destroy so many things, only a Peak Rank 3 aura could answer that."

[Hm...] Trevon thought that it was planned by the Debt Collector. "Ah! Thank you for your information,

Trevon gave more pouch to the soldiers, which they accepted with a bigger smile.

"Brother Soldiers, I want to know. Is there any family which had hatred for both families or was destroyed by both families?"

"There were some." The soldiers started to gossip.

"Yes. It isn't strange if some families fight for treasures."

Trevon came into a dead end. The soldiers mentioned several family names, but Trevon had never heard about them.

"How about Ungerer family?"

"The family is a former vassal of Downbridge family. However, they became a vassal of another family in Goldcave. Their relationship between Downbridge family and Ungerer isn't good. I believe they had moved to Goldcave now. No Ungerer would dare to walk in this city."

"Yes. However, they didn't have any Rank 3 warrior in their family." Another soldier said.

"Oh." Trevon continued to talk with the soldiers, but he didn't hear anything useful. "Thank you for your information." He ended their discussion.

"Hahaha. It is nothing, Young Master." The soldiers continued to do their duty. Nothing strange was found in Trevon's wagon.

Trevon sat in his wagon after the soldiers finished checking his wagon and its occupants. [What should I do today?] He had one more day in this Hillbridge.

He took his guidebook and looked around. [I should find something for relaxation.] Trevon was still a bit influenced by the massacre last night. While he skipped most parts, no sane people could watch it.

"How about we have a culinary trip?" The Rabbink pressed the guide down. It smiled brightly.

Master Rabbink even promoted a restaurant to Trevon. From all the foods that the Rabbink tasted yesterday, this restaurant was the best.

"Fine." Trevon wanted to know the restaurant which managed to earn the Rabbink's recommendation.

He went from his family pavilion and walked to the restaurant mentioned by Master Rabbink. The young master didn't forget to bring his small group of followers.

The streets in Hillbridge were different than Redwood or Bluestar. Hillbridge's main streets were always from the mountain foot to the peak. Better areas in the city were located in the peak of any mountains.

Out of the better locations, Heavenly Sword Mountain Sect had the best location in the city as the city ruler. The sect located on the highest mountain peak. Meanwhile, McArthur family and other powerful families took other mountain peaks around the sect.

Trevon needed to walk from his family's mountain peak into the Heavenly Sword Mountain sect's mountain peak because this restaurant was located on that mountain. That was the most expensive location in the Hillbridge.

During his walk, Trevon saw the building in the daylight. The buildings in Hillbridge were similar to other cities. Its slums consisted of tall and plain brownish buildings made from formations. While the rich had beautiful and huge pavilions with many buildings.

After fifteen minutes of walking, Trevon and his bodyguards arrived at a five-floor tall building. It had a huge two red pillar guarding its entrance similar to other building in Heavenly Phoenix. Several eaves decorated the building outer design with a phoenix on top of those eaves.

Trevon read the big wooden board above the door, Bridge Paradise.

[Hm... Sound confident.] Trevon entered the restaurant. A flavorful smell of foods welcomed him.

While Trevon's enjoyed the tempting smells, a soft flowery smell came to his nose. A young woman in pink robes received Trevon with a gentle smile.

"Good Morning, Young Master. Do you want the VIP room?" The female attendants already noticed Trevon's status from his robe and his number of bodyguards.

"Give me the best room with a window to the street!" This was Trevon favorite. He could scout beautiful ladies while enjoying some tea or wine.

"This way, Young Master. Our VIP rooms are on the third floor." She led Trevon to the staircase.

Trevon saw the restaurant had many people eating here. It was still early in the morning and the place already packed. [This restaurant must be delicious.] He thought.

The restaurant actually used some antique furniture for its decoration. He saw wooden tables, each decorated with a red tablecloth and red colored chairs. A red rug made from a demon beast wool covered the wooden floor.

Coming closer to the staircase, Trevon could smell some herbs were being cooked in the kitchen. The smells were inviting Trevon, he couldn't wait to taste the foods.

The young master also enjoyed walking behind the attendant. His eyes could feast on the beautiful rhythm of her hip movements when she stepped into a higher step before him.

"Hey! Are you sure, you don't want to hear the gossip?" Master Rabbink asked.

[Why should I hear those people gossiping?] Trevon was unhappy. His enjoyment was disturbed by the Rabbink.

"Do you remember a young master should know the latest gossip? Do you want to become a frog in a well?"

Trevon thought a bit. "Wait! Get me a table on the second floor, near the window!" He asked the attendant.

"Yes, this way, Young Master." She stopped on the second floor and looked for a table. It was busy on the second floors. Lots of merchants and mercenaries stopped before they worked.

"I want that table!" Trevon didn't forget to get some easy bonus. He had not done any mission since he went on this journey.

A pair of unlucky merchants was asked to move from the table. The attendants politely asking them to change the table. Those merchants saw Trevon and his groups. From the red dragon insignia, they gave their table away. That was a family that they couldn't offend.

Trevon saw the notification when he got the destiny energy. The young master took the time to absorb the energy.

[Ah! That is refreshing.] Trevon enjoyed the feeling of getting stronger the cheating way. He sat on the cleaned table.

There were forty tables on the second floor. Trevon took a table with the view towards the peak. That was the place of Heavenly Sword Mountain Sect.

Trevon could see multiple pagodas and huge palaces on the mountain. It was a magnificent view. The tall white pagodas and the red eaves combined with the lush garden and fake waterfalls made the mountain felt alive.

"That place has a spirit vein." Master Rabbink said. It looked into the tallest pagoda on the mountain.

[Really?] Trevon felt interested. A spirit vein was a special natural treasure that could gather spiritual energy. Cultivators could place some formations to channel the energy to help them cultivated faster. McArthur family also had several spirit veins and made private academies on top of those veins.

"However, it is very weak. Only a mortal would like that." Master Rabbink continued. It floated near the menu.

While Trevon looked into the sect buildings trying to sense the spiritual energy, two maids prepare their tables. Another prepared some snacks and conducted a tea ceremony. Trevon enjoyed the immortal view and the fragrant tea.

The attendant came to listen to Trevon's order.

"Give me and my bodyguards all the best menus!" Trevon said. "Also, the best local wine." Trevon pointed to a table beside him. His bodyguards, including Aya and Marcus's fiancée, sat on those tables.

"Does Young Master want to order spirit foods?"

"Spirit foods?"

"Yes. Our specialty is Braised Tiger in our special sauce."

"Order that for me and my bodyguards." Trevon looked to the Rabbink next to him. "Two portions for this table."

While normally people didn't eat big foods for breakfast, Trevon knew the Rabbink next to him could clear everything.

"Squeak..."

"Erm... Three portions for this table." Trevon knew Nana could eat a big portion right now. The mouse grew not only in her cultivation but her size too. She was half the size of a human head. Luckily, Trevon was a cultivator so he didn't mind carrying her weight.

"Squeak..." Nana felt happy. She jumped from Trevon's shoulder toward the table.

Trevon also gave some spirit foods for Nana, he believed a menu wouldn't be enough for the mouse. Nana's foods were mainly various spiritual seeds. He had purchased a lot from before he went on this journey.

Trevon was enjoying the tea and taste the bitter yet a slight honey taste of the tea. [Which tea is it?]

"Have you heard the latest news?!" A shout broke Trevon's thought. The young master had a better hearing capability than common people. He looked toward the source.
