79 Aftermath the Beast Wave

Michael and Viero appeared three minutes after Zhang Lang disappeared. They saw a full-armored uglier-than-pig person who was panting and trembling on the floor while wiping his sweats.

"Who are you?" Michael asked. He pointed his sword at the person.

"Gah!" Trevon jolted from the voice and took his weapon to protect himself.

Michael also started to gather his spiritual energy.

"I am Trevon McArthur, Granduncle!" Trevon stopped trembling and quickly shouted when he saw the other party. If he was attacked by the Legend, while it was an honor, it was a fast way to die young.

Trevon still felt the blood rush from fear to relieved. He just stood his ground against a Rank 3 Demon. [Just now is a fucking real Demon!]

"What happened to your face?" Michael was one of Issabella's older brothers, therefore, he was Trevon's granduncle. The family leader had used spiritual sense to check Trevon. He wasn't sure if this was his grandnephew. However, from the family protecting artifact, he knew the person had McArthur bloodline. However, he still kept his weapon to prepare.

"Erm..." Trevon quickly accelerated his spiritual energy and restored his original handsome face. "I was hurt by some demon beast's attacks. Hahaha."

"Did you see the Redwood Forest King?" Michael calmly asked. He came here because he heard Zhang Lang's shout. The legendary hero was fighting a Rank 3 demon beast. As soon as he managed to defeat the beast he came to his family pavilion. However, he didn't see the demon.

"He ran into that way!" Trevon pointed to the way Zhang Lang disappeared.

"We will go then. Stay inside the pavilion. This place should still save, only Rank 3 demon beast could enter this area." He told Trevon.

"Yes, Granduncle." Trevon felt elated to be able to speak to the legend personally. He had never met him before. The young master had only seen his painting and heard the rumor.

Michael then looked into Viero. Both nodded to each other before continuing to chase Zhang Lang. They wanted to make sure it wasn't a trick from the beast king.

[I have to return to my room to escape.] Trevon ran to his room. He saw the portal to his own universe. A black and blue energy vortex which absorbed light was there in his room. Only he who could see it. Even the Rabbink could only know the location, but not seeing the actual vortex.

Trevon jumped into the Vortex. He appeared in a long tunnel with glowing black and blue. From there he knew the distance was long, but it was very fast.

He could only hear the whistle on his ear from the energy. It was no longer the wind noise, but energy noise. However, he didn't feel any pain or discomfort. The temperature was cool and he didn't feel any wind friction or strange smell.

That was a strange short journey, perhaps less than a minute. It was slower than his Core Management option. He directly appeared in the first ball. Nana and those small rabbinks were chasing around.

"Squeak... Squeak..." Nana asked for more foods. While Trevon had left her some foods, the glutton's mouse and rabbinks group had eaten all the foods.

"Nana!" Trevon stroked her soft white fur.

"Squeak!" Nana sent a signal for more foods.

"Fine. I will give you some extra foods today to celebrate my escape from the beast. Hahaha." Trevon used Planet Making to teleport into his second ball. He took some spirit foods before bringing them to Nana.

Trevon didn't forget to feed the rabbinks before he teleported to his Universe Core room.

From his Core room, he could see the condition around his bedroom using the monitor. Trevon stayed there and felt bored. The battle would not end so fast, even with retreat order. Redwood City would still need some cleanings. With the narrow alley and huge buildings, it would be even harder.

[These armors are heavy.] Trevon started to remove his turtle shells. He appeared with his robe again. The spoiled young master saw his robe was cut in some parts. [I will use the store to repair this.] He purchased and changed his robe.

Trevon ate some pills to recover his internal and external injuries. He also went into a cultivation state to make his condition better.

Three hours later, Trevon had recovered his spiritual energy and recover some inner injuries. He wanted to clean his body, but he didn't dare to return to the pavilion yet.

[I should build a house for myself here. I can take a bath and enjoy myself.] He thought.

"You could use your Planet Making skill to make some caverns." Master Rabbink said. A cave was the first dwelling for most apprentices.

"I stay in a cave? Impossible." Trevon complained.

"You could try to increase your core rank. You could copy things from your original universe into a blueprint." Master Rabbink explained. "However, it will be still for long. Gwahahaha."

"Hmph... Is it safe in the city?" Trevon asked.

"Hm..." Master Rabbink started to calculate. "It should be, however, there are some demon beasts which still lurk in the City."

"Then, I will stay in here." Trevon decided to play with Nana again. He enjoyed petting the soft fur.

Trevon was wondering what he could do, even petting Nana was boring.

"Hey! Could I borrow the tablet?" Trevon asked. "I haven't read the novel lately."

Master Rabbink lent its tablet to Trevon. It took a desktop to continue its writing.

"Wohaaa. I missed two chapters." Trevon only read Chapter 20 and it was already Chapter 22 in the app. He pressed some likes to a comment to his review from a Celestial Reader named likewise.

[He is a good person who supported my harem dream. Hwehwehwe.] He continued to press like.

"Just read and don't talk!" Master Rabbink felt Trevon disturbed its writing session. While Trevon was meditating, the Rabbink was busy writing for its novel.

"What do you mean by this real Trevon?" Trevon read Master Rabbink's conversation with a Celestial Reader named darksoul00. The Rabbink said that he was spoiled, childish, annoying, lazy, cowardly, perverted, and shameless.

"Yes. That is you!" Master Rabbink argued while writing about Trevon's escape from the beasts. It still needed to write another two thousand words. The Rabbink also wrote some author's note to thank Mr.Dhull, WintersEnd, likewise, and other readers for their votes.

Master wanted to repay the support by sending more Trevon's adventure faster, however, it was hard. [Gwah! It needed to edit some chapters.]

'"You should write that I am a cool and handsome." Trevon couldn't deny those accusations. Yet reading bad words about him wasn't good. He thought his good point, but he only confident about his cool action and handsome face. [Hahaha.]

The young master decided to practice his lying habit. He had read the elder assembly meeting chapter and likewise's comment.

[I need to remove this habit fast.] He used the tablet as a makeshift mirror.

Another six hours passed.

"Hahahaha. Master Rabbink is handsome. Master Rabbink is kind. Master Rabbink is wise. Master Rabbink is mature. Finally, I managed to lie with a straight face." Trevon felt proud.

"What did you just say? They were lies?" Master Rabbink stopped writing. It took the tablet from Trevon and materialized multiple fists.

"Auch... Auch... Auch... This is hurt." Trevon used spiritual energy to recover his small injuries. "You are as barbarian as Raina."

"This is the time for you to return." Master Rabbink said. "It is already safe." The Rabbink needed more story. A young master binge reading a novel non-stop wouldn't add many words count to its novel. [Gwahahaha.]

"Really?" Trevon didn't believe Master Rabbink quickly. He arrived at his family pavilion around 20:000. [It should be around 02:00 now.]

Trevon looked into his room from Core Room and saw nobody there. He returned to his own universe using his Core Management skill. It was far faster.

[The portal is only useful for the dangerous time.] Trevon felt his skill was better.

He arrived at his own bedroom. The door was forcefully unlocked. Someone came when he was in his universe.

Trevon pushed it and went outside. Some family guards were checking the pavilion.

"Young Master!" Kevin appeared. "We have been searching for you."

"Oh! I am here in my room. Is everyone fine?"

"Lance, Jack, and Jerry are fine. We haven't found Jonathan. Aya and the new recruits were fine. Most kids were fine in the gallery." Kevin reported. [I have opened his room. He wasn't there before. Did I miss him?]

"Good." Trevon didn't predict that the city could be breached. Nevertheless, it happened. Who could imagine a small cockroach was actually the dangerous demon. Zhang Lang managed to slip into the city. Once the tower fell, it was a total chaos.

"Your uncle had searched for you."

"Where is he?"

"He is in the Command Room." Kevin answered.

Trevon went to the meeting room and saw Darvis outside the room. Darvis was busy talking with some family staffs. From their conversation, it was about the accommodation. He looked at the incoming people and saw Trevon.

"Where have you been, Young Master Trevon? Did you have any injury, Young Master?"

"Hahaha. I was in my room, sleeping. I am fine and healthy. I heard my uncle was looking for me."

Some people looked at Trevon. [This young master is crazy. He is either very crazy or very brave. Sleeping during a beast wave.] They thought. Even in the area with crystal barrier, with the broken wall, a Rank 3 demon beast could walk around. The barrier would stop them. There were many Rank 3 demon beasts attacked other areas.

"Yes, he is. However, he had a meeting with the family leader right now. I will tell young master Trevon if he had finished the meeting."

"Fine. I think I will sleep in my room." Trevon felt very tired.

"I will inform your uncle that you have been found."

"That is good." Trevon returned to his own room. He took a bath before sleeping. The beast luckily didn't manage to mess with his family pavilion. Only Rank 3 demon beast could enter the other area.

Kevin guarded outside his room while he sent some common family guards to find Trevon's other bodyguards.

Trevon woke 10:00. He was too tired yesterday. The beast wave still had some impacts on his mental state. During the night, he woke automatically. Luckily, he read some novels to relax his mind. Master Rabbink was lending the tablet for free.

He took a bath before went outside the room.

Trevon went and pressed troublemeter. This thing didn't give him some rest time. He got hit by a rabbink which was chased by the family guards. At this time, the beast became the hunted.

"Lazy Cousin!" Raina called Trevon. "Where did you run yesterday? Grand Elder Vince was about to take us to the safe house when you just disappeared."

Trevon coughed blood. He could taste the sweet and metallic liquid on his throat.

The young master had gambled with his life by running through almost half of the city, while a grand elder was ready to protect him.

"Hahaha... You must have one hell of an adventure, Trevon. How many demon beasts did you kill yesterday?" Raina was more interested in the chance to fight the demon beasts like other geniuses.

"I got 2.321 after I helped with chasing the beast outside the city." She showed her bracelet.

Trevon realized he hadn't checked his counting artifact. He took the artifact from his storage ring. All his armor was taken to his storage ring yesterday.

"It is..." Trevon stopped his words. He couldn't believe what he saw.

"What?" Raina looked into the artifact. "Impossible!" She saw 350.326 as Trevon's score. "This must be broken."

"Yeah! This must be broken." Trevon couldn't believe he killed that many demon beasts.

"To reach this number you must have killed some Rank 3 demon beasts." Raina frowned a bit. "Did you get many lucky shots on top of the wall?"

"Impossible." Trevon didn't want to appear as a genius. No killing a Rank 3 demon beast as a Rank 1 warrior is impossible. He felt afraid to be picked as a chosen again. "There must be some problem with the artifacts. Perhaps its inscription had some mistakes."

"Yes, it is impossible for that much luck. However, there had been no record of a mistake with this artifact."

"Nope. It is correct. This artifact formula was intentionally shared by this Rabbink." Master Rabbink didn't want its creation to be valued as having a defect. "You have killed a Flaming Claw Bear."

[That is only a small point.] Trevon knew such Rank 1 bear wouldn't give that much extra point.

"After that, you used Plot Armor. Some Earth Crunching Worms were killed after they crashed their head with a super stone under your feet."

[Eh? That's counted?]

"Yep. The plot armor made those stones unbreakable. Those worms turned into smashed worms. The bees who missed you wanted to chase you to keep their perfect kill record intact, they ran around the town until they died of exhaustion to find you. That's some extra points."

Trevon tried to remember the series of event.

"That tiger which wanted to clean its hand was poisoned by some poison on the water. That is extra points. That pig with stomachache couldn't find a toilet, in the end, it died because it resisted the nature call. That snake also killed by a curse from the Snake God, since it forgot about the God's ascension date."

Trevon couldn't believe what he heard.

"It is not over. That Rhino kept praying until it forgot the time. However, one of its prays didn't please the Rhino God, so it was killed by a lightning bolt. When you kicked the door in that house, a powerful Ghost Dream Eater was behind it. It was about to materialize into physical form, but the door your kick killed it. That Ghost Dream Eater was a Top Rank 3 demon beast. That was a very huge point for you."

[Wow!] Trevon didn't believe a kick from him through the door could kill a Rank 3 Demon Beast.

"Those monkeys were dead because they injured their brain during their falls. The dogs chased the ball until they were hit by Truck-kun. Don't ask me who Truck-kun is! That is another Celestial Secret. That cat was too lazy, so it didn't run when the Truck-kun came closer too. The turtle didn't manage to turn its turtle shell, so it died because all its blood ran into its brain."

Trevon almost wanted to ask who Truck-kun was. When the Rabbink decided not to tell him.

"The sloth survived your plot armor, but the rank 3 tiger didn't. It didn't want to amputate its majestic tail, which you stepped. The tiger died because of an infection. That gave you huge points. The last thing, you almost killed the Redwood Forest King. You inflicted a large injury with a stomp. That was a super bonus point. The MVP awards."

"Why did you open your mouth like a pelican?" Raina commented on Trevon. He felt very surprised by Master Rabbink's explanation.

"No. Nothing, Sis. I am still stressed about yesterday event."

"Fine. Since you were my servant, I will treat you to some ice creams. Follow me!" She took Trevon.

Trevon couldn't avoid her. However, they returned thirty minutes later. No store opened their doors after a catastrophe yesterday. Almost all the city still cleaned the room. It was hard to live in Redwood. The Villages around were destroyed while a quarter of the city was also gone. Redwood turned even crowded.

"This is your bad day. No ice cream store opens." Raina didn't know how to cheer his cousin.

"Let's just eat something in the Dining Hall!" Raina took Trevon there.

"Get me some desserts!" She ordered Trevon.

[Don't you want to cheer me?] Trevon grumbled on his heart. However, he didn't dare to go against his cousin order. He took two caked for Raina and himself.

Trevon just returned to the table when Darvis came to him. "Good Morning, Young Master Trevon. Your uncle is waiting for you in his office."

"It seems those desserts are for me." Raina waved her hand to make Trevon went.

Trevon followed Darvis to Charles's office. Darvis knocked on the door.

"Young Master Trevon is here, Elder Charles."

"Let him in!"

Trevon entered the room. He saw his uncle was sitting behind his desk. Huge documents were stacked on top of his tables.

[That must be the destruction report of the family's properties.] Trevon thought. "I heard you ran back to the pavilion alone yesterday, Trevon." Charles still checked some documents.

"Yes, Uncle."

"ARE YOU CRAZY??!!!" Charles slammed his working table. Some documents were flying. This was the first time Charles harshly scolded Trevon. "Don't you believe in the family ability to protect its descendant? Your father had put you under my care in Redwood. I don't know what you have planned so you ran troughs the city alone."

"I am sorry." Trevon lowered his head.

"..." Trevon could hear his uncle tried to control his breathing.

Charles's breathing started to get shorter. "Did you get hurt?"

"I got an injury on my ribs. However, it is already fine." Trevon pointed to his broken rib area from the bear fall. He had used a potent bone recovery pill to recover his broken bone.

"I will ask family doctor to check you. Tell me about your journey!" Charles conducted a tea ceremony.

"Yesterday, I went to find an elder in the camp, yet nobody was there..." Trevon started to tell about his story. He just said that a dead demon beast fell on him as the cause of his injury. The young master avoided telling about plot armor or killing some Rank 3 demon beasts. Nobody would believe a Rank 1 warrior like him managed to beat a Rank 3 demons beasts.

Charles poured a cup for himself, before pouring another cup for Trevon. He pushed the cup to Trevon.

"Drink it! It is a calming tea. It is good to reduce stress." He said. "Family Leader said that he met with you yesterday. Did you see Zhang Lang? What happened to him?"

"I just saw his back. It seemed someone attacked him." Trevon said. He couldn't explain how he could defeat Zhang Lang since he had said Master Creator wouldn't help him.

"Did Master Creator defeat him?"

"No. He is with me the entire time."

"Hm... Then, there must be other hidden expert in the city." Charles assumed. It wasn't strange, Redwood City was the house of many people. Perhaps a retired expert stayed reclusive here.

Trevon became passive. He sipped his tea. It was hot, yet when the tea entered his throat it gave a cool sensation. [This is a strange tea.]

"Do you want this tea? I have some." Charles took a small pouch and threw it to Trevon.

"Thank you, Uncle." Trevon wouldn't reject such strange tea.

"Give your artifact! The family will trade it for you." Charles asked about the counting artifact. It would be used to share rewards and announcing missing heroes. It had to be returned, besides it had low value for a cultivator.

Charles looked at the number. He looked at Trevon. He looked at the artifact again. He tried to massage his eyes, before looking at the bracelet again.

"Am I seeing the thing?"

"I believe it is broken. Perhaps when the giant bear smashed on top of me."

"It can't be. The inscription is very basic. Also, while the artifact could be destroyed, but it had never been wrong." Charles couldn't believe he saw a number as high as some grand elders. [Did he kill some Rank 3 demon beasts? Impossible.]

Charles frowned to think the reason, but Charles couldn't find any reasoning. While Master Creator could help, the point wouldn't go to Trevon. The inscription had included that possibility. Even a doctor could get points for helping the fighters.

"Are you sure you don't know anything about this?"

"Erm... Yes, Uncle." Trevon acted like he didn't know anything. He had practiced with the tablet to remove the sign.

Charles tried to check Trevon's lies, but the kid was barely lying. He couldn't see any big signal from Trevon.

"Sigh... I also got a news for you."

[News? Why did uncle sigh?] Trevon gave a confused look.

"You should prepare yourself..."

[What happened? I believe Uncle wouldn't find my lie. I had trained yesterday.] Trevon had used his newly learned technique to make his lies during his return as real. He knew it would with his uncle who knew his habit from Raina.

"It is about your father. We lost contact with him. He should be still in the Redwood Forest."

"Eh?"

"Yes. Your father was covering the staffs escaping route. Those staffs were common people, so they couldn't escape as fast as us cultivator. There were some elderly researchers. However, he hadn't reported his entry to the city. Even if he joined the battle, at least he would report to the family first."

"What do you mean, Uncle?"

"We must be ready for the worst about his condition. He stayed in the forest while a huge wave of demon beasts passed him. However, we also got good news. His life-jade-slip still showed a fire. We believe he managed to hide from the beast wave. However, his life fire isn't strong."

Trevon released a long breath. That jade slip was an artifact that a cultivator marked before one went into a mission. It was connected to a cultivator's soul. A healthy person would have a strong life fire marked on the jade slip. While someone in critical condition would have a weak life fire.

"We had sent some people to search for him and the rest. The family would use their best effort to find your father. Your grandmother and some family elders led some teams to comb the forest."

Trevon got a notification.

[Special Mission accepted.]

"Can I help?" Trevon had never found his father in a dangerous situation.

"I don't think the forest is safe yet. Our powerful Rank 3 warriors were busy chasing those beasts back into their core area. We don't know whether the beast would return." Charles didn't know that Trevon's stomp gave a huge injury to Zhang Lang which made the King felt fear and anger at Trevon.

"Do not worry, Uncle! I will only search the outer region of the forest."

"..." Charles seemed to think. [Trevon must want to join his father's rescue party. This is the time for him to show his maturity. The outer region should be safe.]

"Could I?"

"Fine. However, you will only search in the outer region. I will ask your aunt, Josephine to protect you. You have to bring some guards."

"Fine." Trevon quickly went outside.

Trevon wasn't worried about his father. He believed his father wouldn't be killed by this trouble. The young master had heard more dangerous stories of his father.

After reading some novels, he knew the existence of certain people who always blessed by the God. Those people would always find a lifeline and even turned disaster into luck in dangerous situations. Those are Children of God, the main character. He believed his father was one of them.

He looked into the mission again. This was what made him sure his father was fine.

[Lv 5 Special Mission: Go to the Wailing Tree!]

[Mission Reward: Get your father back and a clue to the treasure in your house.]

[Mission Description: Your father survived the demon beast waves. However, he and his team stranded in a cave. To find the cave, you should go to the highest trees in the forest, the wailing tree. Do you have what it takes to reach the tree?]

Trevon couldn't reject the reward. Although Alvaro was annoying to him, that was his father.

Trevon went outside while Charles sent a message to Josephine. He gathered Jack, Jerry, Jonathan, Kevin, and Lance. Aya and the rest were too weak to help so he told them to cultivate.

"We will need to find some local hunters." Trevon told his guards.

"I know some friends who frequently hunted in the forest. I could ask them." Jonathan said.

"Good! I need them to show me the path. We will meet at 13:00 in the north gate." Trevon said.

"Yes, Young Master." Jonathan went to call his friend. It was lucky they lived in the South Region.

Trevon went outside the pavilion again. This time he went to the north area. While most shops were closed, the area was better than the east area. However, the aftermath was still a huge destruction. Many injured people groaned on the street. Some people also cried about their lost family members.

He saw some rescue staffs went to the east region. They would return with an injured person on a sketcher.

Some warriors also gathered the team to chase small demon beasts. Those small beasts could easily hide in the concrete forest of Redwood. Another group of people tried to repair the building.

Trevon passed a huge field where many refugees build some emergency tents. Some big family would show their charitable side at this time. They would open some refugee clinics and kitchen. That would increase the fame of the family.

He went to have lunch in one of the very few restaurants which opened in the city. It was expensive, but the Rabbink was very rich. This was a prelude to another disaster in Redwood.

After his lunch, Trevon went to the northern gate. His aunt, Josephine had been waiting near the gate when he arrived there.
