EPILOGUE: EPILOGUE

"Mum..." Vivian mumbled and placed one hand on her chest. "He asked me to marry him, Mum... I don't want to. I don't want to have children with him..." She sniffed back the tear that had attempted to fall from her eyes.

Marrying him means she was willing to carry his children. How can she tell them that their grandfather was killed by their father?

            "You love him, Viv."

Her mother's voice snapped her out of her thoughts and she bit her lips.

"Listen, my dear..." The woman continued. "If you love him, just go for it. No one can change what has happened, and he had to do that to save you and Pearl... Please stop torturing yourself for that. Okay?" She sighed while listening to her daughter's soft breathing.

"Actually, I spoke to him on the phone last night and he had also sought my permission... I'm not trying to force you, dear, but just listen to your heart. You deserve to be happy. " She said softly, then sighed again. She also wanted to see her grandchildren before passing away, as she had heard a few days ago that Pearl had given birth to twins. Grace must be over the moon now.

Vivian chuckled, hearing her mother, who had grumbled subconsciously from the other end. And she breathed out deeply after bidding her goodbye.

Standing up from the bed, she walked toward the closet and started changing into her dress while her thoughts wandered to the guy again and she sighed inside.

He must have left the house and would probably not come back any time soon, maybe until his anger dies down.

She wondered what his boys, who are his usual punching bag whenever he gets angry, would be like now.

Maybe it would take a few days before he returned or even weeks.

And who knows where he will go this time?

Except for the bar which he often frequents, she was as ignorant as his parents who were considering her as their potential daughter-in-law and always pestering her about their oh so precious son's whereabouts.

She looked into the mirror after she was done, then picked up her purse from the bedside and walked out of the room while a cleaner walked inside.

After reaching the elevator, she punched the button and got inside, while counting in her head and trying to compare the different types of hotels they've visited in several places.

'Urgh!' She couldn't believe how boring her life had become as she was beginning to become bored of all those adventures.  Now, she had even resorted to comparing hotels.

Was this her retribution for being mean in the past?

She glanced down at her wristwatch as the elevator came to a stop, then took out her phone and dialed a number while walking out of the hotel toward the parking lot.

"Sister-in-law!" A shrill voice came from the other end after the call was answered and Vivian rolled her eyes with a sigh.

"You'd better leave the house in case your brother comes there. He's currently in a bad mood."
