Empire of Souls

"Gods? Magic? Fantasy? Nonsense." An-Namrud never cared for any of those things. All that mattered was his work. The Tower of Babel. This would prove it to everyone... that gods do not exist. Until one day, it all came crashing down. His world destroyed, and his soul trapped in a never ending cycle of reincarnation. After countless cycles, he finally escaped with only the thoughts of revenge against those who had cursed him with this fate. Been away for a long time, but I am trying to make a come back to writing. Please be patient and continue to support me as I start writing again. I will try to update at least 1 chapter a week for now with more if I can.

Infiltration (2)

"Does it look like I am going to fit down these stairs?" Cladem bellowed.

Cladem was already hunched over as he was too tall to stand comfortable in the building, it was obvious he wouldn't be able to fit down the stairway.

Grobak scratched his cheek and embarrassingly laughed, "Right, I guess you can wait here. Let's go."

Grobak motioned to his warriors and they all followed him down the winding stairway. It was well lit with torches on the walls and the stone stairs were sturdy. They could hear the sounds of hurried movement below. Although Cladem had made it so those from the outside wouldn't hear the commotion, those below had heard it. Perhaps Cladem wanted them to hear it, or just didn't care. Regardless, it really didn't matter what they did, they were too weak to cause any harm to the group.
