Monday in the second week of the seventh month. 1 CE.

It was just another Monday for many people, but for the magician, it was the judgment day.

Yesterday In the capital, the order to exterminate was announced by David, no one questioned or opposed the order of the emperor.

For the bureaucrats, they were many feelings on their side.

Those with noble or magician origin wanted to beg for mercy, but they did not dare to do, by the audience view even the closet friend of the emperor was exiled to the undeveloped land, how could they do the same thing.

Those with commoner origin was satisfy with this event and readied to add salt to the wound if they could find some evidence.

However, the military side was only happy with this order. There were many reasons.

For those higher up they were happy because they were bored up with the past six months at peace. These men build the empire under David's guidance on the horseback, to come and go back between home, palace and garrison were not what they used to. Some even asked to go on patrol with their subordinated just so they could do some more action.

For the mid-rank and lower-rank that did not allow to join the meeting, the reason was the chance for promotion. This included even the normal soldiers.

A battlefield promotion could be jump-step advancement in military rank that only occurs while deployed in combat. This type of promotion did not require the soldier to meet time requirements and other unrelated to work factor. A chance for those with abilities to go on a fast track, a downside was only a very fast posthumous promotion for those who draw a short stick.

The last reason for the military side joyfully attitude was a spoil of war. Although David came from the civilized world with a human right the same thing was hardly seen in Noseth if both sides were not of the same status. The condition for pillaging and slave gathering was share between groups, but that still a lot compared to their salary. Those of higher rank would be fine without those spoils but they would not mind taking care of another young concubine. Well, woe to the vanquished.

As for the mass, some that were treated well by magicians or having connections with them in the past felt sympathized, some that were treated badly by magician felt satisfied. Some that did not have anything related to magicians felt….nothing, was they did not have a sympathize to fellow human but if we thought realistically, while you were living your life would you care over someone you did not even heard or knew of misfortune.

And with one order from David, the soldiers of the empire began their operation. Fast messengers were sent to every corner of the empire, not only the government but the magician too was on the move.

The large sects and clans too had connections within David's men but they did not know that the reason they could receive the new and called back their men to their turf was just a plan all along. And the nobles that valued friendship too much was just brought destruction for themselves.

When the emperor decree for every magician to join the magician bureau first announced, there was much thought on those magicians that did not care about David's order at first. They did not believe that David would really do anything to them.

There were many lone wolf magicians that despised the towers and the system that graded them into a hierarchy, they happy with the destruction of the towers and hope that David would bring down the famed clan too. These group mostly join the bureau as agents and they were lucky in doing so, but some waited for a chance to build sect for themselves hoping for fame and money. The latter was wrong and after the judgment order arrived the authority easily tracked and hunted them down.

Since they were alone, it was not hard at all for the government's magicians and armies to capture or kill if they were not surrendered. Some highly capable individual could escape and even some mediocre but ruthless could runaway, the last-mentioned type from around the central plain seemed to coincidentally escape into the same place though.

For the sect and clan, David always pressured them, from the time he was only just another midsize kingdom ruler to the time he was a sole ruler under heaven. A few of them surrender at the time they received the notice whenever David authority reaches their domain, but some still arrogantly operated as they were. Those that did not yield were a few in number now, Akkee clan was one of them.

The grudge between David and Akkee clan was too deep since David killed most of their elder in a duel of life and death. The duel was legit and fair but the hatred was there and could not erase that easily. At that time, David did not attack and seemed to turn a blind eye toward the group with a certain power, but this time was different.

The operation began for a few weeks and the number of lone magicians in the empire that still wandered around reached almost zero.

The small sect and clan with less than 100 magicians were destroyed very easily one by one, they tried to put up with resistance but it was not bear fruit, some surrendered after they saw a real army ready with siege machine accompanied with full armed knight and magicians squad. After that was the middle size, these people put up a better but still a pointless fight. It was not much difference between 100 or 500 against 10000 anyway.

By the time most sects were destroyed the prisoner reach over 10000 and rising up day by day, all of them would be transport to the designated place near garrison outside of the capital.

Although many were given a chance to surrender before the army began the attack, some would be captured if their misdeed was too notorious and listed by authority.
