Chapter 14 Writing test

Examiner distributed the papers to the examinees. It had both reading and writing sections from the outside, with clear instructions on how to answer. Examiner officer stood before the examinees, he gazed at his pocket watch.

" You may begin your exam."

Examinees quickly flipped the paper and found out there were plenty of questions in the reading section. Most of them were academic questions, but there were a few trick questions in the test.

Licht scanned the test with his eyes and answered the easiest questions first. It wasn't that hard for him because he is a bookworm like his brother. They were basically kindergarten questions for him.

As for Cynthia, her expression didn't change. As a noble, she was educated well since her childhood. Hence, it was an easy test for her too.

Lastly, red haired girl didn't look bothered. She calmly filled the answer and started the writing section with incredible speed.

The writing section was the hardest section. It had five questions and theories. Especially, it tested both academic knowledge and experience. Those without logical and analytical abilities were doomed to fail this section.

Licht raised his eyebrows when he saw the first question.

" If there was a war near the desert, how would you survive?"

This was a trick question. It didn't mention winning or retreating to other areas.

Licht gazed at other people because he thought it was a difficult question. First, it had a broad range of ideas and answers. Second, it didn't specify the situation and details.

He carefully thought the answer and wrote them down. After doing that, he turned to the second question.

" Explain about element system and their relationships with each other."

This was also a hard question. Although element system is easy to explain, they are hard to write down in a few words. For example: Fire and water mutually restrict each other, but they also can boost their power and create a new attack element like vapor. Henceforth, this was an extremely awkward question for the test.

However, Licht wasn't fazed at all. He carefully wrote the theory and his sight in the system. It was just a breeze to him, who was a unique magic caster.

" Monsters are active in the winter, but that doesn't mean they only attack humans in the winter. Please explain about their behaviors and life cycle."

Licht sighed and pondered for a moment. The question had a logical loophole, but that didn't mean it was a hint. Monsters are divided between docile and aggressive types. Most of the docile monsters are often used as livestock or something similar like that. As for aggressive ones, they are either tamed or killed in the wild due to their nature.

Last two questions were about theories. They weren't difficult for Licht who studied arcane magic with Richard. He answered the test with confidence and waited for others to end.

The examiner raised his head and walked between the examinees. He was observing their answers and their movements. If anything suspicious happens, he will immediately revoke their rights and kick them out from the exam hall.

He once again gazed at his watch. It was almost time to end the exam.

" 5 minutes are remaining. Please fill out your names and your registration numbers. Don't forget to leave the test sheet in the hall."

Licht tidied his desk and waited. He was expecting to get first or second place in this exam.

Stand up*

Examiner stood up. He gazed at the examinees with a sharp gaze. His gaze seemed more serious than the test beginning speech.

" Thank you for your participation. We will announce the results the next day."

He motioned the examinees to leave the exam hall. Licht picked up his pen and turned back to the exit.

Cynthia patted his shoulder. She was eager to know his results because she was observing him earlier. She knew Licht had finished earlier than most of the examinees. Her eyes were shining with interest.

Licht touched his shoulder and saw Cynthia was standing behind him. He initially guessed her ideas thanks to her simple personality. He sighed and resigned to his fate. It was impossible to get rid of her. She would nag him until his death.

" Are you hungry? I will treat you, Cynthia."
