JunkYard

"Okay then, let's go get them," The lady said as they began their minor journey to the shelves.

This was Mrs Matilda, the community librarian and neighbour. Truthfully she was the main reason why he was in here at all… after all, which five-year-old was allowed beyond the front yard.

He had learnt that she was the community librarian when he was around three years old and since then he had pestered his mother to allow him to go to the library.

Each time he did so, he ensured that she was around so that she could develop some form of interest in him and a year later, it paid off. It was easy but difficult at the same time.

Do you know how hard it is to stay at a spot as a three-year-old? All that energy had to go somewhere and thankfully the books in the library worked though it took some time before she allowed him to begin to use them.

After a while, she helped him get more books as he too returned to his corner and continued reading. Surprisingly he enjoyed doing so and that had made him the library sweetheart.

….

Year ten,

A young boy could be seen moving around within a large scrapyard with a small wagon behind him, every once in a while, he could be seen rushing to a huge pile of junk and adding something new to his wagon before moving along.

"Shit… it's cracked" David called out before throwing what looked like a computer ram away

He was now ten and this had been his daily routine for the last few months. This was the junkyard in the neighbourhood and naturally he didn't have permission to come here.

But he was then and this was the 90s not a lot of people cared about that. Utilising the short time he had, he would rush here along with some of the older children.

They were his assurance since he usually just rode with one of them back home. As for what he was doing here, it was simple, he was gathering parts for a project.

"David, where are you, we are leaving!!" He heard some of the kids shout and he immediately took off running in their direction.

He dragged his wagon along as he went to meet them, He had gathered all he needed to finally complete his build. A few minutes later, he was sitting on the back seat of a bike while ensuring that his wagon was tightly secured as they rode back home.

Much hasn't changed in his life, he still visited the library though it seems someone had reported about him to Mr. Matilda's superior so he couldn't be seen at the library every time..

The world was still nuts as usual… he had long since realised that nothing in this world was as familiar as he wanted it to be. For example, the Fantastic Four were already a thing.

Iron Man could be seen flying around each day, he wasn't truly sure if people knew it was Tony Stark or not, the X-men were also everywhere, he had yet to see any news concerning the Inhumans but he wasn't ruling them out as well.

Essentially he got the full package and worse this was not the MCU which meant that not only gets to deal with the full package, but the package was also elevated in power to a whole new level.

At some point he gave up on trying to actually take advantage of this world, now he was just focused on making some money and gaining enough power to protect himself and his new family.
