Saving Mira

On the way back home David spread his aura lightly around himself to see what his range was. Akira and Renji did not notice it. He could now sense up to 500 meters. When their car stopped at a traffic light, David sensed something.

In an abandoned building 300meters from David, one woman was tied while a man had a knife in his hand. David could not hear what he was saying but he could see the woman glaring at the man. David tried to control the man's blood but he couldn't manipulate it. David lowered his window and extended his hand outside the window. He kept his hand down so that no one would be suspicious.

He again tried to control the man's blood and now he felt like he had some control over him. He froze a small amount of blood near the man's heart. The man felt weird and started clutching his chest. A few seconds later he collapsed on the ground and stopped moving.

David wanted to find a way so that the woman can untie herself or at least call the cops when he found the woman pulling the man's knife closer to herself using her legs. David saw a police badge on the woman's waist. Suddenly David saw three police cars rushing towards the abandoned building.

"Seems like something is happening. I'll go and check. You guys go ahead" Renji said.

"Let's all go together" David said as he wanted to know what exactly happened.

Renji and Akira looked at him as they knew he wouldn't include himself in such things. They both nodded and turned the car to follow the police cars. When they reached the building the cops go into the building. After waiting for a few minutes the cops came back down with a woman and a man was on a stretcher. As soon as Akira saw the woman he shouted "Mira" and ran towards her. Even the woman was elated to see Akira. David looked at Renji who giggled and said "Childhood friends" to which David nodded.

After a few minutes in a big truck, Mira Akira Renji and David were sitting.

"Mira, what happened?" Akira asked.

"That guy had tried to kill his family for his wife's money so we relocated them to a safe house. We were trying to find him for the past week but god knows which hole he was hiding in. Today he kidnapped me to torture and ask about their whereabouts." Mira said

"But how did he get the drop on you and how did you kill him?" Renji asked.

"He posed as a waiter in the coffee shop where I go every day and mixed some kind of drug in the coffee. I started feeling the effect of the drug and quickly alerted the police station and kept a GPS tracker under my shirt so that the station could track me after I am unconscious. And I didn't kill him. He was about to kill me when I refused to give him the location when suddenly he started grabbing his chest and screamed and then fell down. I didn't even touch him" Mira said.

"Huh...A heart attack at such a tym" Renji put on a confused expression.

"Whatever, it's good that you are safe now. He knew that your quirk lets you see things in slow motion so he prepared the perfect plan. Renji can you take Mira to the hospital for a checkup? I'll drop David home and meet you at the hospital" Akira said.

"Got it. Bye David, I'll see you tomorrow" Renji said to which David nodded and left.

Akira and David sat in the car and drove towards David's home when Akira said "Thanks" to which David only smiled.

Akira knew that David could use blood control and the moment Mira said that he died of a heart attack he understood why David wanted to come here.

'I just wanted to test my blood control range. I want to know whether it looks like an actual heart attack or is there any difference' David thought.

"I want a detailed postmortem report of that guy. Do you think you could get that for me?" David said.

"Sure..I'll mail it to you before the end of the day" Akira said.

After Akira came home James asked him questions about the exam which David answered while having lunch. The same night David received a mail from Akira containing the post mortem report which David started reading.

'Hmm, so when I froze the blood to create a clot the walls of the veins froze a little. If someone is not searching for it specifically then they won't find it. But I don't want to make the same mistake again. I need some test subjects but people dying of heart attack while committing a crime could be a coincidence if it occurs once but twice is a pattern. I'll ask Master Hiroshi to arrange some death penalty criminals after a few months. Very soon the association will be busy with the League of villains.' David said.

After a few weeks, David received the acceptance video from UA and he was in Class 1-A. Momo called him saying that she was in the same class as him. David wanted to ask her how she got his number but he figured that it was too trivial and asking would make Momo think that I didn't want her to have it.

The next day at the dojo Aiko told him to come in the evening as she had a surprise planned for him.

When he reached he found Aiko on the ground with a suitcase in hand.

"David this is the Hero costume I have designed for you. Go put it on" Aiko said while handing the suitcase to David.

After a few minutes, David came out of the changing room wearing his costume. It was a long jacket hoodie which was black and blue on the outside and dark purple on the inside. The inner was a grey t-shirt which looked good but David could tell it was high-grade kevlar. The pants were black and the shoes were red.
