Chapter 6: The last giant

Inside the church, Tsuki and Vyke are sitting looking at each other.

Tsuki points to the meat and says; "Take a piece"

"Thanks" says Vyke taking off his helmet.

Behind the helmet, there is a young face with pale blond hair and blue eyes, just like those heroes in fantasy stories.

"Nhoc" "Nhoc"

With a smile he looks at Tsuki and says; "This is really good, better than what I do, haha"

Looking at Vyke, Tsuki still eating asks with doubts; "Why are you here in these abandoned lands?"

"Ahhhh, I'm just a traveler, and when I heard that there's a legendary creature in these mountains, I came to take a look" He says with an amused face

With an "angry" face Tsuki says; "So you're telling me that, you only came here for a legendary creature?"

With a smiling face he says; "Isn't it clear? I want to become a legendary hero, just like Godfrey, facing a legendary creature is the way"

Looking with a sinic look Tsuki says; "So the plan is to defeat the giant and become a legendary warrior?"

"Yes, If I can achieve this, perhaps I can join Godfrey's warriors".

"Thinking about Godfrey... I heard he's making a raid on Tempesveu Castle, wiping out the last rebels opposing Erdtree" Says Vykes

"Tempesveu Castle?"

"haha, yes, a castle ruled by beings capable of manipulating the wind... some of them are said to be descendants of ancient beings, just like dragons" Says Vyke still eating

"Sighh... Impressive either way... but go ahead, maybe you can join Godfrey's warriors" Says Tsuki

"Thanks... Mr..." Vyke asks without knowing Tsuki's name.

"Tsuki, my name is Tsuki"

With his hand raised towards Tsuki, Vyke says; "Nice to meet you, Mr Tsuki"

"Nice to meet you Vyke"

Tsuki looking at Vyke says the same with a handshake.

"It's late, if you want to spend the night here, settle down near the fire, it's very cold here at night" Says Tsuki stirring the fire.

"Thank you, I will accept the invitation"

In the middle of the church you can see two men lying near the fire in a deep sleep...

~Morning

~Mountain of the Giants

At the top of the mountain,Two figures can be seen walking through the snow towards what looks like a giant pot, linked by huge chains.

"ohhhh, I can't see at night, but now in the morning it's more apparent, you have some beautiful horns there my friend" Says Vyke jokingly

"Yeah, I've had these horns since childhood... it must be strange for you, right?" Tsuki question

"No, not really, at first I wanted to be a warrior crisol... but I don't have that gift" Vyke says as if remembering something long lost.

Returning to his cheerful self, Vyke looks at Tsuki and continues; "But you must be from a very important family, not even the nobles escape being thrown into the sewers... but here you are, an omen outside the sewers, and its horns don't grow as long as other omens."

Tsuki with an embarrassed look touching his horns says; "You could say yes, I'm from a noble family, but as for my horns... they never grew too much."

"Ahahah, I knew it, but for now, move on"

"And you Vyke, are you from a noble family or something?"

Vyke looks at Tsuki and says; "My family were cristol knights, nothing more"

Tsuki looks at Vyke and with a sigh says; "Sigh, I understand"

Now with silence, they approach some chains that give way to the mountain where the last giant is.

In front of the chains, there is a group of what it looks like: monks, dressed in crimson robes, using burning pieces of wood and whips.

Approaching, the group of monks raise their torches and say; "Who's coming?*

Vyke takes the lead as he says with a smile; "We are just travelers who came to face the giant"

Tsuki looks at Vyke like he's an idiot for telling people who "protect" the giant his plans.

"You cannot be here... this is our lord's home, no one is allowed to enter"

With a confused look, Tsuki steps forward asking; "But do you serve the golden order?"

Spitting on the ground, as if speaking disgusting words, the monk says; "Golden Order? What did they do for us besides throwing us in the mountains and looking at that" He says pointing to the large furnace.

With a look of devotion he says; "Our lord is now another, the great god of fire"

"Hugh a bunch of corrupt religious people, nothing more" Vyke says with fun.

With fury and irritation the monk says; "Huh, a bunch of kids who think they can beat a god, haha, that's not fun anymore... and by the way... who said you'll be able to get to him?"

The monks throw their torches into the air and begin to chant an ancient mantra.

"That's Bad" Says Vykes with a touch of fun.

"You think?" Says Tsuki with sarcasm clearing his voice

As the monks finish the mantra, several fireballs appear towards the two.

{SCHOLAR'S SHIELD}

Raising his sword high, Tsuki creates a magical shield, defending him and Vyke.

Vyke, without wasting time, advances towards the monks with his two spears.

When the monks see Vyke approaching, they chant another mantra.

{FLAME, GRANT ME STRENGTH}

Increased your strength.

Now a hand-to-hand battle begins, with the leader of the monks using a flaming whip and Vykes with his spears.

While behind the monk whip the others doing incantations.

"Let's go"

Using his spears, Vykes lunges at the monk in an impaling blow.

"Foshhh"

The monk skillfully throws his whip towards Vyke's legs, disorienting him, and causing him to stumble.

Practically on the ground, Vyke looks at the monk angrily cursing; "Tsk, damn"

Vyke advances again, but this time carefully and without an open guard.

On the other side, Tsuki continues fighting with the monks using fire enchantments.

Approaching the monks, the monks begin to use their flaming sticks as weapons.

Unlike the leader skillfully using a whip, they appear to have no experience in combat, only using the sticks as catalysts and not weapons.

Even though they don't know how to use weapons, they continue to fight

As they approach, they summon flaming whips towards Tsuki.

{SCHOLAR'S SHIELD}

Tsuki uses the shield again as he advance.

"SLASH"

In one count using the spear, most of the monks were swept away like dust.

The other part of the monks quickly used; {

SURGE, O FLAME}

Setting the area around them on fire, thus reaching Tsuki.

"Okay, let's get it over with that" Tsuki says smiling.

{STARS OF RUIN}

Using a primeval magic From multiple targets, the monks fall one by one.

"Well, everything is done here, now... how is Vyke" turning his head to the side he can see the struggle between Vyke and the leader of the monks.

Vykes comes forward with an X-shaped cut to hit the monk.

"Schwing" "Schwing"

Unsuccessful, Vyke continues attacking the monk.

The monk then creates a fireball and launches it towards Vyke.

Vykes then cuts the fireball in an X shape again, causing it to explode.

A cloud of black dust rises.

"Cough.. cough, That was clo..."

Before continuing a whip is wrapped around Vyke's spear.

"I got it" Shouted the monk

But before he could do anything, Vyke, using the spear, pulls out the whip, and next to the whip the monk.

The monk then flies towards Vyke, who with another spear in his left hand, plunges it into the monk's skull.

"Crack" "Crack"

The sound of something breaking is heard from the monk.

"Huh.. Huhh, it's over... hey Tsuki, have you finished yours yet?"

Looking to the side, Vyke sees Tsuki sitting with his legs crossed as if he was watching something unimportant.

With a sigh he says; "Finally, let's continue"

Tsuki then gets up and heads towards the furnace.

"Hey, wait for me" Getting up quickly, Vyke follows behind Tsuki to the top.

At the top of the mountain, there is a giant with red hair.

He has his hands on his head as if he is regretting something.

"So this is the fire giant" He thinks Tsuki

Vyke excited to see the giant screams; "Come on, let's not waste time and finish him off soon"

Moving forward, as if realizing something, the giant turns looking at Tsuki and Vykes and says; "Go away humans, we already lost the war... there is no reason for you to be here" the giant says almost with a begging tone.

Looking at the giant Vyke says; "That's where you're wrong, your life is what interests us"

The giant then changes his look from sadness to anger and says; "If that's what you want"

Then quickly he lifts a huge "plate".

Using only strength, the giant slams the plate on the ground, causing a slight earthquake and sending an "avalanche" of earth towards Tsuki and Vykes.

"Crack" "Crack"

"Did you have to say something instead of just attacking?"

"Of course, that would be disrespectful"

Tsuki and Vyke then look at the giant, ready to start a fight....
