17 King Arthur

King Arthur rushed straight to his his wife, Queen Mera. Who was coordinating people form the palace. My magnificent form was out in the open water a bit above the city. I was easy to see from anywhere. Yet, he never noticed me.

Am I not noticeable right now?

"Hmph, love makes men blind as they say. Not that I would be that much better. I'll give him a minute with his wife before making my presence known to him.", I told myself as I leisurely swam through to the palace.

When I entered the palace. I put my hands behind my back again. I used magic to push me through the water so I am not comically paddling my feet.

I coughed a bit after their emotional reunion was complete.

King Arthur finally sees me and smiles sincerely, "Elden Lord Ellorseax! Mera told me how you aided Atlantis during this attack. I am grateful beyond words. I am also thankful that you took my wayward brother captive, rather than be heavy-handed with him."

He then surprised me with a tight hug. I knew Arthur was a boisterous and...happy man. I didn't expect a hug though. I awkwardly hug back.

"Huh, you are welcome King Arthur. I am a righteous god. How could I see such injustice and be a bystander? IT was natural for me to lend my aid. There is a certain responsibility that comes with strength and status like mine."

He laughs, hugs a bit tighter and spins me around before releasing me from the hug.

"Haha, wise words of righteousness. I am honored to have met you today Elden Lord. I wish it was under more festive circumstances, but I know you will not take offence considering our situation."

I assured, "Of course. It would be ridiculous if helped Atlantis out of a crisis, only to complain that the buildings are broken and there is no pompous ball."

"The people of Atlantis have been admirable during this crisis as well. I must compliment the quality of your people. They help each other honestly and have been working together with vigor to restore the city. All of this is a testament to your good kingship.", I compliment.

We exchanged more words, before I was invited to stay for a few days in an undamaged guest room. As it would take long to repair the city with the magic and technology available. A day or two at most.

I agreed to be their guest. As I wanted to build a good relationship with King Arthur and Atlantis. This is the perfect time to do it.

It tool one and a half days to repair Atlantis. Another day, and life was returning to normal for the civilians. The government still had a lot to do. As they had to attend to the captured traitors, Orm, and thinking of measures to take so that this does not happen again.

I was there when King Arthur announced Prince Orm's sentence to all of Atlantis.

King delivered his fate publicly from his throne, "Prince Orm will be stripped of his royal status and imprisoned for life until the day he dies. He spend the rest if his life with nothing but his crimes."

King Arthur was a naturally kind person. He did not want to be so harsh to his brother, but he was left with no choice. He found solace in the fact that at least Orm will not be executed.

Now that the immediate issues were dealt with. It was time for me to make some more moves. As once Atlantis is tied to The Lands Between, and to me; I would be able to exert more legitimate influence on this world.
