DxD: Transmigrated as a mob in Khaos Brigade

"Introduce yourself!" The smile that had been steadily developing on Eric's face began to slowly disappear, and he became incredibly solemn, which made his face appear even more menacing when it was in the shade of the lighting. "Hello, my name is Eric Kingsley, and I will soon turn sixteen years old. I work in the medical sector of the hero faction and live an ordinary, quiet life every day." Eric went to the DxD universe, where he was reborn as a human equipped with a unique piece of sacred gear called [Twilight Healing]. Even though he worked as a healer and possessed a unique and valuable piece of sacred gear, no one paid him any attention because of his weak body. When he couldn't figure out how to pass the level, he activated the mind-reading system. Not only was he able to read people's memories, but he also had the ability to earn rewards! From the memories of the people he had healed, Eric learned about the hidden dangers of the DxD world. He decided to become a weak mob in the medical division so that he could become unbeatable in the supernatural world as soon as possible. "I know you are powerful; battle me!  I will show you that I am the most powerful white dragon empress!" A ravishing woman with silver hair and azure wings accused Eric. "I'd appreciate it if you could show me how to cast that barrier spell. I've never seen anything like it; you must be a genius, " Eric was followed by an adorable witch with blonde hair and sparkling eyes. "Let's make kids, Eric nya~" A vulturous woman with massive cleavage kept harassing Eric. "You are powerful. If you defeat Baka-red, I will grant you any wish you have."  "Fuck! Can't you see, I'm a mob! Boss Cao-Cao save me," Note: This fic is based on "Reborn as a Anbu Torturer." So the plot progression would be very similar to it.

chapter 3

"Sush~"

Eric exhaled deeply before opening his eyes very gradually. After going over all of the memories, he merged them with the ones he already possessed of the spy.

"It is the year 2007, which is one year before the main events in DxD, which have not yet begun. Several well-known events have recently come to a close, including the war between Carmilla and the Tepes faction and the conclusion of the Cleria Belial incident in Kuoh Town. Recent months have seen the conclusion of a multitude of significant events across a variety of factions. And we haven't even gotten to the plot yet. So, we are currently in a lull before the storm."

"However, this kind of calm is only on the surface. The various factions are currently experiencing a rise in underlying tensions. The negotiations taking place between the Youkai and the devil factions at the moment are the primary focus of attention. As expected, the devils have taken the form of dogs once more. They have been barking insolently at the Youkai and have coercively reincarnated several of their species."

"But these are all relatively insignificant issues."

"Everyone will be in danger once the major event begins!"

"Even though I have a stronger physique now, it only prevented me from having immediate weaknesses. Without in-depth preparation, I would not have been able to exploit the full power of [Alpha Human physiology]."

"But I can't think of anything out of the ordinary right now!"

"People who know me are aware that as long as there are no changes in my body, I won't be forced to fight for them. I'm very confident a human like me would be quickly scouted for the core squad of the hero faction, or either would be disposed of."

"Although it is pretty funny to say, being a mob in the medical section of the villain's organisation headquarters is the safest area for now,"

Eric went over his memories and organised the timeline as well as the current environmental setting very meticulously.

The world of the supernatural was a cruel and unforgiving place.

It was nothing as passionate and idealistic as it appears to be in anime. Not even close. If you are weak, then you are living on borrowed time; your death could come at any moment. If you are strong, then you have plenty of time left over.

The worst part is that you won't even know you're dying until it's too late.

"At that time, I don't want to be the victim, and I also have a mind-reading system, so I need to plan wisely!"

The system was updated using Eric's latest thoughts.

As he crossed, he entertained the idea of acquiring a system.

Even though he had been anticipating it for some time, he was surprised when it turned out to be a reality.

"I am able to read the memory of the spy that was previously read for me by the system."

Nevertheless, early on I was able to deduce that the mind-reading system is only capable of reading one person's memory at a time.

"Right now, the most significant issue is..."

"The reason I was able to get the [Alpha Human Physiology] question just now was because it was the first time I read the memory. Will there be another prize for me when I read the memory the next time?"

Eric furrowed his brows and continued pondering while he did so.

The system appeared out of nowhere, and there was no instruction manual. Eric didn't even have a clue about the exact rules of use, so he could only cautiously investigate them.

"Never mind."

"I'll just hang around until the next task comes along."

"When I read the memory again at a later time, I will ultimately find the answer."

After giving it some thought for a bit, Eric found that he couldn't resist the need to read the memory once more. He didn't even consider leaving the room and instead remained cooped up inside for the entire time.

He didn't even consider leaving the room and instead remained cooped up inside for the entire time. Earlier on, he was concerned about what he would do if he was called away to read memories; nevertheless, as time went on, he began to look forward to the experience.

It was such a dramatic shift in his life!

However, this is exciting because it signals a fresh start for him.

(Scene Change)

For the past three days, Eric has been looking forward to it.

It is as if he simply touched a certain online game, and then all of a sudden he became addicted to it. However, for the next three days, he was prohibited by authority from using the Internet.

He spent each day of his life fighting...

During these three days, he considered working out in secret, but he was scared that there were eyes on him and that they would uncover his strange behaviour because he is still relatively new to the medical department.

Based on the principle of being cautious.

Eric made the conscious decision to keep up his sickly appearance until he had totally worked out the issue before he engaged in any activities that may be considered dangerous.

(Scene Change)

Khaos Brigade HQ, Medical Sector

Fluorescent lights provided illumination for the full area of the environment that was lit.

Marsilio was still dressed in that black trench coat, and his entire physique had an air of absolute majesty.

"I see that you have arrived, Eric."

Marsilio turned his head in the direction of Eric, and as soon as his eyes met with Eric's, the lines on Marsilio's already handsome face began to soften out significantly.

"Captain Marsilio!"

Greetings were offered by Eric.

"Take a look at this man..."

Marsilio swept his gaze over the area not too far in front of him.

There is a person who is tied to the wooden cross frame that is in front of them. From the appearance of his aura, it does not appear that he is a supernatural being.

"This individual is a valuable asset to us."

"He is a human with a medium potential in magic and was implanted as a spy in Grigori to steal the works of Azazel; however, he was unfortunately ambushed by a stray devil in a mission given by Grigori.

"Since he was struck by a stray devil, some demonic energy entered his body, and he suffered an internal damage that caused his spinal cord to be sublimated."

"Our medical staff wasn't able to do much to help him, and we need him alive and to go back to Grigori because he has earned quite a bit of trust from higher-ups,"

"Therefore, it is not possible for us to simply replace him and go to the expense of setting up another spy."

"We believe that the restorative powers of twilight healing should be effective enough for him to recover quickly."

"I know you haven't rested enough yet, but this individual is not very strong and shouldn't be too much of a problem for you,"

"I want you to heal him enough that he can speak; the rest will be handled by our medical team,"

"Also, if it is possible, examine to see if there are any other internal wounds and if it is possible, treat them."

"I'll hand over everything to you!"

"If you complete all the tasks satisfactorily, I will offer you a small reward."

After Marsilio had finished speaking, he demonstrated to Eric that the responsibility had been transferred to him by giving him another pat on the shoulder.

Eric clenched his teeth together in an agonised manner as he hurriedly gritted his teeth. It is essential that the shift in his physical fitness not be easily discernible.

He desired to remain in the medical sector since he believed it to be the most secure place.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!"

As soon as Marsilio saw Eric, he had the unexpected realisation that his hand appeared to hit too hard, thus he should pay attention to it going forward.

Sigh…

Marsilio couldn't help but let out an internal sigh.

This kid was quite pleasant to be around. Simply put, his physical makeup was not up to the task!

"Captain Marsilio, I'll do anything I can to assist you!"

Eric approached the individual who was shackled with extreme caution while rubbing his shoulders in an obviously painful manner.

He brought his right hand up to his shoulder and triggered the [Twilight Healing] ability.

Hum!

When his right hand made contact with the top of the other person's head, he experienced a little tremor all over his body and pieces of memories began to flood his consciousness.

[Ding Dong!]

[You have been successful in reading the memory! Obtained Gradation Air!]

Eric's consciousness was suddenly filled with a clear, crisp electronic sound, which immediately reinforced what he had been thinking and triggered a surge of euphoria in his heart.

As was to be expected.

You have the opportunity to earn rewards by reading the memories!

"Huh..."

Eric took a few slow, deep breaths, altered his attitude, and attempted to convey as authentically as he could the range of feelings that were triggered by the act of healing the person.

He has gained a newfound comprehension of the operation of the mind-reading system.

As long as you read the memories, you have a chance to receive rewards.

Reading as much as possible was the only way for him to make progress toward his goal of becoming stronger.

If this were taking place in a department that was not related to medicine, no one would let him touch their head, much less read their memories so easily.

If you look at it from this perspective... The medical department was an excellent choice for work.

After a certain amount of time. The decision has been taken by Eric.

He would continue to improve his strength while remaining in this medical department where he would quietly read the memories of others who had been injured.

He will not budge in the face of such a dismal turn of events.
