Susanoo-no-Mikoto

For the first time after obtaining it, Kento decided to use the Cloak of Invisibility.

He was surprised at how well it worked. He wrapped himself in the cloak and flew straight towards Kyoto. The cloak was made in a way that allowed the user to look through it even if the person's eyes were covered –while people from the outside could see nothing.

Kento did not want to take a train to Kyoto and he knew that it was one of the best times that he could test out his item.

'Flying around without any way to hide myself can get me in trouble.'

After all, who would be able to explain a man flying in the sky.

'Last thing I want is to be shot by the government.'

Crossing countless miles in a few minutes, Kento finally arrived in Kyoto. He did not know how long he would have to stay in Kyoto, but he hoped that it was not for long.

Swiftly landing on the ground in an empty area, Kento removed the cloak –making him visible once again.

Kyoto was a place that was scarcely populated, at least when compared to places like Osaka or Tokyo.

What this did was to allow Kyoto to be a clean place. Both in terms of air and beauty.

'Inari said that I had to go to the Yasaka Shrine.'

That was one of the reasons he landed just a few meters away from the shrine.

This time, there weren't any foxes to guide him.

'Susanoo is said to be a hot tempered god. It will be best to be on my toes.'

Walking towards the shrine, he finally sensed the supernatural presence. Moving towards the presence a bit, Kento finally saw a Youkai.

'A crow Youkai, huh?'

{Name: Kotengu Nana

Age: 400+

Class: Low Class Youkai

Skills: Flight (A+), Weather Manipulation (C), Guidance (B)

Special Trait: Kotengu are low level Tengu that can lead to any destination that a being desires.}

Seeing Kento, the Youkai kept his staff away as he nodded. "Lord Susanoo awaits your arrival."

Kento did a bit of research on the different type of Youkais found in Japanese mythology. And what he found was quite interesting.

'This guy is quite low leveled.' Kento recalled. 'But a strong Tengu can control rain, wind and thunder at will. And their anger can cause whirlwinds.'

"Is there anyone else other than Kami Susanoo?"

The Youkai did not talk much and gave a nod at his question.

Walking for a bit, Kento was finally in front of the temple that he previously visited.

'Last time when Yasaka brought me here, Susanoo was somewhere else and there was only the statue of his.'

But this time was different.

"We are here." The Kotengu said.

With that, he slowly opened the massive door, immediately making Kento's eyes widen and his heartbeat quicker.

<<Opponent has a racial advantage over host!>>

<<Herculean Strength Activated!>>

<<Hermes' Celerity Activated!>>

<<Atlas' Will Activated!>>

<<Athena's Insight Activated!>>

<<Coeus' Perspicacity Activated!>>

A pressure that he had not experienced before fell on him, almost bringing him to his knees.

'What is this pressure!'

It was immense.

Far more so than what he felt in front of Inari.

'Is he testing me?' Gritting his teeth, he slowly walked inside. 'The passive skill would not have been activated otherwise.'

The pressure was extremely high and if not for his passive, he would have been on the ground.

He noticed that the Kotengu shuddered as he felt the pressure and did not dare to enter.

But Kento did.

"Ho~" A booming voice echoed. "You managed to handle that."

Handle was a strong word in Kento's opinion, he barely survived through it.

"I greet the Shinto God of the Storms and the Oceans," Kento said, trying his best to handle the pressure. "Kami Susanoo."

He gave the god a respectful bow, as the god smiled a little.

"To be able to withstand the pressure despite possessing that little strength." The god muttered. "Quite impressive."

Saying this, he finally lowered his pressure –allowing Kento to breathe properly.

As the pressure lowered, he was finally able to look up at the god of the storms.

'The depictions did not lie.'

The god was massive, with a height of nearly seven feet in his normal form. His face was masculine with a thick beard and scars adoring his face and body. His body was as muscular as it could get with multiple metallic bracelets that covered his arms in the form of an armor.

Taking a deep breath, he used his inspection skill.

<<Note: A Greater Kami is on par with a Satan Class Devil>>

'He is on a whole nother level compared to Inari.'

But Kento found it understandable as Susanoo was one of the three main gods of the Shinto faction –the other two being Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi.

"It's an honor to be in your presence, Kami Susanoo."

And it truly was.

Susanoo was the strongest being he had met so far. And as one of the gods that his mother believed in, Kento felt quite proud to meet him in person.

The god that was sitting on his massive throne smiled a little. "Do you know why I called you?"

Kento shook his head. "Kami Inari said that you ordered my presence. And thus, I did not ask further."

In truth, she did not give him much information and said that he would know once he met Susanoo.

Susanoo laughed. "A human with the ability to manipulate light, fight reapers with a form of martial arts that is not recorded in any book and possess a sword that can damage the reapers with ease." He said loudly. "All while possessing strength that barely keeps him alive."

Kento knew that the difference in his ability and actual power did not match. He was pretty weak in terms of raw strength and power, but his skills and items made up for it.

'I will need actual strength in the future. One… That will not be dependent on skills and items.'

"It does not add up, now does it?" Susanoo asked. "Till now every supernatural being that have showcased their abilities possess skills that are equivalent to their power. Or even if a person does not possess the strength, they have strong skills because they come from a weapon or their Sacred Gear." Susanoo raised an eyebrow. "But again, I have never heard of a Sacred Gear that produces effects like yours."

Kento was well aware that it was not possible to explain his powers.

"Now do you understand why I called you?"

Kento did, but he still shook his head. "I can guess but I will not assume things, Kami Susanoo. After all, I only awakened my powers redently."

"Because you are someone with powers that are exclusive to certain factions yet you have no links to those factions." Susanoo said. "It does not matter how weak you are now, with abilities like those you will have an immense growth."

Kento knew that he was correct. With the system that he possessed, his growth would be immense.

'That is only if I manage to live through these quests.'

Susanoo stood up, making every Youkai present in the room bow their heads.

"There is a reason for what I called you." Susanoo said. "And the reason is to test you."

Kento did not know what kind of test the god had for him, but if he were to fight him… Kento knew that he would die in one blow.

"What kind of test, Kami Susanoo?"

Susanoo smiled. "A test… where if you pass, you will obtain something that many desire."

Seeing Kento confused look, Susanoo smiled.

"You will be my disciple!"

Kento froze. 'Disciple of a god?'

It was a chance that not everyone gets. Even those that do, are never normal beings.

Kento wondered why the god wanted him to be a disciple. Even if he had abilities of other factions, he knew that there were other people who were far stronger with far greater potential than him.

But what he did not know, was that the god had a second reason to take him as his disciple.

One that every other Shinto god wanted as well.

"Two week from now, huh?" Rias slouched on the sofa, remembering the date for their rating game.

"At least we have time to practice." Kiba said.

"Kiba is right." Akeno nodded. "Instead of giving up, we should try to resist."

Rias wasn't sure about that. She knew that two weeks of practice wasn't going to make much of a difference.

But as the worried heiress lazed on the couch, she heard her rook.

"Kento told me to give these to you, president." Koneko said. "He had to go to Kyoto again."

"He has been going there a lot." Rias sighed. "What's that though? Letters?"

She was surprised to find that Kento left her two letters.

"He told you to read the letter inside the white envelope first." Koneko said. "And then the red one."

Rias smiled at that. People did not use letters anymore. Only the high ranking devils of the older generation preferred using them as the development in technology almost eliminated the need to use letters.

But Rias didn't mind letters. Instead, she found them cute.

"Kento has been helping us a lot lately." Akeno said. "With all the missions that had been recently coming up, if not for him we would have been at a pinch."

Rias knew it as well that it was thanks to the boy that they had been able to progress so smoothly. And it was also one of the reasons, she and Sona did not mind covering for his absence from class.

'Let's see what he has to say.'

Opening the letter, she smiled at his handwriting. "His handwriting is pretty."

But as she read it, her expression turned to one that of shock.

"Oh…"

This caught the interest of the club members.

"What does it say?" Kiba asked.

Rias didn't answer and immediately opened the other letter.

But as she read the other one, she chuckled.

"Oh Kento… You damn genius."
