Chapter 25

"Talk?" Serafall questioned herself quietly in bewilderment, her voice lacking its usual luster. There was no way for somebody to communicate with somebody who was under the sleeping disease, it simply wasn't possible.

"Watch closely, you'll probably need this." Damian told her, pink energy leaking from his hand and surrounding the cage. However, it was only pink for a single moment, its color slowly shifting toward pure white.

"...!" Serafall didn't make a single noise, she simply couldn't it was just too shocking. The shade of one's demonic energy was the representation of their lifeforce, the mixture of their body and their soul, meaning its color couldn't be changed!

For it to change meant either the physical body or the soul itself had been changed! That wasn't something that could happen in this world! It didn't matter if it was Gods of Death or Devils changing the 'wavelength' of their energy wasn't possible!

Yet it was happening in front of her! Something so impossible that people deemed the theory a fool's notion! His demonic energy was changing right before her! Ajuka could command reality as he pleased and yet this was a field even he had no say in!

Quickly the white energy was tainted with a familiar shade of purple almost identical to the glow emerging from the pipes albeit with some small differences, differences that were soon removed in their entirety.

"Catch me." Damian commanded her as the shade finally perfectly matched that of the glow, his body falling as though he was a puppet whose strings had been cut. Teleporting to him in a show of pure speed Serafall caught him, briefly taking note of the purple glow surrounding his body.

"How am I supposed to learn that Dai-chan?" Serafall muttered in a mix of amazement and amusement, gently laying the boy on the ground.

Opening his eyes Damian was greeted in a land of purple water. Briefly searching through his surroundings he could only liken it to standing on the ocean floor. However, he only spent a moment of time enjoying the 'sightseeing' trip before spreading out his altered demonic energy.

'Having almost perfect energy control is quite convenient.' Damian once more reaffirmed, a short chuckle escaping his lips as he continued his search. Ever since he had been reborn he had been slightly different to most devils or rather different to all beings in this world.

It was a natural result of his soul not originating from this universe. The difference between an alien soul and a native body forced the two to compromise in a way. That was why his body growth was strange even by devil standards, it was reaching the standards of his soul.

For the same reason, his body was forcing his soul to adapt to his devilish body. In the past, his soul was that of a human but now it was fully that of a devil which brought all the weaknesses of the species. It was a natural result however it was a shame that his prayers became more painful as time passed.

However, their separate origin didn't change. Because the two had always been ever so slightly out of sync he had always been aware of the connection between his soul and his body. It gave a few special results that most devils would never understand.

Compared to most devils, Ajuka included, he had a much deeper understanding of his demonic energy and his control couldn't even be compared to theirs. He understood the 'origin' of his demonic energy so he could control it freely.

It was similar to how Sirzechs had reached the 'core' of the Power of Destruction and now boasted control never seen before or how Ajuka understood the 'truth' of reality and could now control it as he pleased.

His power wasn't all powerful, however. He could manipulate his energy in ways thought to be impossible and he could do things for a fraction of the price of others however he still followed the same rules as other devils.

All his power really did was allow him to gain more power for less which is the only reason he could even dream of fighting and winning against people such as Rias or Sona who had demonic energy reserves much higher than his own.

If their energy reserves were to be ranked he would possess the bare minimum for a high class devil while Rias and Sona would be somewhere around the peak of the class. Yet despite this gap, he was still equal in power with them because of his control.

When compared to Sirzechs and Ajuka, people who had reached a similar pinnacle his power was quite underwhelming. Of course, it would be his key to power in this world and it could not be underestimated but it was still lacking in the awe factor of the other two's abilities.

In essence, it was similar in effect to Ajuka's Kankara formula. By smothering his opponent's attack with more demonic energy of the same wavelength he can steal control from his opponent's hands. Naturally, this required him to have higher reserves than his opponent which was unlikely.

The possibilities of his power were endless but he hadn't had much of a chance to develop them considering his lacking demonic energy reserves. It was an issue that had a solution in mind however, it would take quite some time to make it a reality.

'There you are.' Damian declared mentally, his body pushed forward by the waves. Because he had the same energy wavelength as Ingvild at the current time he could trick her power into helping him. Of course, when she was awake such a thing would be impossible.

Quickly moving through the purple depths he reached the sleeping serpent of the end, her eyes closed peacefully despite the danger of the situation. Even if the sleeping disease was ignored, he, an invader, was currently in the depths of her soul.

"Wake up princess." Damian requested playfully, his ethereal palm making contact with her wrist, demonic energy flowing into her via the contact with her 'body' that made up the center of her soul.

"Mhm." Ingvild murmured as her eyes began to slowly flutter open for the first time in a century.
