CHAPTER 31

Barry's pushing my wheel chair and Jared's walking behind us. When we entered the mansion, they greeted me. Eloise and Dashein are still here. Miss Jang, Jared and my boyfriend are talking through their eyes, what a trio!

"Sav, I missed you. Glad that you're home, now." Dashein said and held my hand.

"Do you think I'll abandon you just because of my dad? You're my friend, I'm your family." Dashein whispered and Barry begrudginly took her hand from me. Eloise's nervous behind Dashein.

Mom's crying in front of me too.

"Thank you," she thanked Barry and was kneeling in front me. She wrapped her arms around me and I just rested my chin against her neck.

"Mommy!" I hug her back, I missed her. Dad's still in the hospital and I missed him too.

Barry's just pushing my wheel chair while Dashein's showing me the fucking balloons, flowers and such all over the living room.

"We have to celebrate, this is my idea." She proudly said while I was reaching for Barry's hand, to control my temper, "What do you think 'bout this idea?" She added.

"We have to celebrate for what Dashein? Your fucking father is a traitor, Andrei died because Gwen killed him, the chairman is still unconscious, mom is not mentally stable, I am poisoned and tell me! We're going to celebrate those?" I said in dismay.

Her eyes grew bigger as my heart began to palpitate again.

"LOOK, I AM JUST HAPPY THAT YOU'RE BACK!" She's mad and I fucking want to choke her ass off.

"ENOUGH, SHUT UP!" Barry answered behind me, he sounded mad too so I stayed silent.

"And who are you? You are just her bodyguard! You rag!"

"I'm her boyfriend, and you're a traitor." Barry answered and I am still not saying anything.

"What's going on?" Mom interrupted, Jang's looking at Barry again like they're talking and Jared left us in hurry.

"Tita, I am just happy that my friend is back and I am not a traitor!" Her tears fell.

"Let's settle this, let's talk." Mom said but Barry just kissed my forehead and he went to Jang, they're whispering so mom is being emotional again.

"Savannah's mad at me, tita. She's unfair to me!" Dashein was really crying while my mom is tapping her back. I just want to pull my mom's hand.

"And why the hell are you crying?!" I was holding my breath, I want to choke her.

"Because you're unfair!" She answered before I could say anything.

"Enough for that shit! Shameless witch! I will make your life miserable too, much worse than what you did to Savannah! Traitor." I swallowed hard when Barry's eyes redden in anger, Jang's stopping him. Eloise's also crying meters away from me when the glass of water fell from her hands. Where's Jared? What's going on?

Mom's quiet like she's also perplexed and so do I.

"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING? SAVANNAH, DON'T LISTEN..." Dashein yelled and seconds after, Jared came back together with the man—bruised and weak. Miss Jang called someone and Eloise cried even more. Shit, what the hell?!

"Your salary's really good, Moures treated you right but what did you do? You betrayed them, you betrayed the people who helped you!" Even Jared's eyes are filled in wrath. Jared pushed the man on the floor so he's already kneeling in front of me.

"J---ospeh?" I stuttered.

"He's the man who tried to kill you, Sav and the man on his black cap was Barry, Barry saved you. Joseph's a traitor." Jared said. Tears are forming from my eyes when his words are sinking inside my mind.

That day, when some of my bodyguards died. . . my questions were answered now. That's why the man who tried to kill me and the man who helped me are both familiar because fuck, Joseph?

My tears fell, I couldn't fathom the truth.

"S---sorry, I w---was just following o---orders." Joseph said, spitting blood on the floor. Jared gave Joseph a forceful punch that's why he's puking blood now.

"Don't. . ." Eloise cried even more while she's kneeling in front of me too, she helped Joseph while continuously shook her head. Barry also grabbed Dashein's hand in such force while my mom's still processing this inside her mind.

"Savannah, I'm sorry. . . I am so sorry, I was the one who ordered Joseph to do t---hat, sorry." My lips parted, I am expecting this. I want to settle things here but this? I don't know how to stomach this.

"Savannah, watch this. The hidden cameras were really useful." My hands were shivering when I took Miss Jang's phone. When I saw the video, my tears continuously fell in horror. I knew it, the chamomile tea... it's poisoned too that's why I was hallucinating again inside the conference room.

"Stop it!" Dashein escaped from Barry's grasp and she took the cellphone from my hand and she begrudgingly threw it on the floor. Barry pulled her hair and her hands, my boyfriend's mad like he's going to kill Dashein.

"Stop---"

"Witch!" Barry said and he pushed her on the floor, where Eloise and Joseph are both on their knees.

"What's the meaning of this? Dashein?" Mom's voice cracked. Barry went beside me and held my hands like he's sorry for everything that has happened to me.

"When I heard you talking to someone over the phone, was it about the poisoning, Eloise?!" I took my hands from Barry's tight grasp, Eloise's kneeling near me so my hand flew and landed on her face, I gave her my best slaps and stopped when I saw traces of blood on her lips.

"Y---yes, sorry. . . Dashein took advantage of my anger towards you and Barry. . . Sorry, I am so sorry," she paused and I feels like fainting, "And ab---out the video of you, I was also the one who sent it to Dashein. . . the cameras, the video and the poison, Dashein planned those." She cried and cried in front of me.

"S---ince when?" My lips are still quivering.

"When you ca---came back from Barry's place. . ."

I shook my head, so. . . I was surrounded with traitors? Eloise, Dashein, Gwen, Joseph and Filipe who were once my family betrayed us? Betrayed me? I don't know, I was good to them, but why? They're the cursed ones not me!

I just found myself crying on Barry's chest, it hurts a lot. I didn't know that things could be like this.

"The cops are coming, let them pay. I love you." I heard Barry's last words before everything turned pitch-black, my senses left me.
