Healer or Fighter? Should I meet my new family?

He looked at his left arm carefully. The element not only covered his arm but his left shoulder and chest.

' It doesn't feel any different from my other arm. What is this? I can't remember anything from yesterday.'

He stood up and walked toward the mirror on the wall, admiring his new arm, but he noticed just how sickly he looks.

' I haven't eaten in a few days now. I wonder if I can now get rid of this sick patient look, but I look so cool.'

He began to do a little dance of pure joy when he jumped from being surprised by the female voice at the door.

" I see that you can be happy. You always look like a sad puppy. Are you enjoying your new arm?" she said while pointing at his left arm.

' His hair turned back to normal.'

" You don't understand how happy I am on the inside," he said with a smile.

" But is this my growth weapon? I don't want to seem ungrateful, but I was hoping for a sword or something more like, you know... a weapon," he said.

" Hold your arm out."

He held his arm out and Andrea covered her entire hand in purple lightning.

" No way. I'm not letting you destroy my new arm!"

He tried to move away before she struck, but he couldn't keep up with her strike to his arm.

*Bam*

He closed his eyes at the blinding lightning. He opened them to see his arm still intact and without a dent or scratch. Not only that, he felt nothing more than a slight tingle in his arm.

" Shock absorption or some sort of damage negation. My lightning didn't even flow to the rest of your body. You essentially have a legendary grade shield that grows stronger with you on your arm. Do you want to test its strength next?

" No, I'm fine. I get it," he said while rubbing his arm.

" You can't stay at the guild forever. You'll have two weeks to stay here. You're going to have to start earning some money," she said.

" I have some stashed from the tutorial."

" I'm not sure how much you'll have leftover after paying us for destroying the awakening room and weapon affinity crystal," she said as she extended her arm, and gestured for him to give her whatever he had. He reached under his bed, pulled out the tutorial money, and gave it to her with a sad face.

" You can always stay in a shelter home or do you have some family you can stay with?"

" My family! I forgot I had family here. How do I find them?

Andrea sighed, exhausted from taking care of this man for the past few days.

"We'll send out a photo of you around the city. You'll be able to tell who your family is due to blood resonance. The entire body scream that you are related. You can't miss it. Until they come, you'll to a beginner's dungeon so you can get some experience. I'll tell Elena to spread your picture around. Go to my father for the dungeon. I need a drink and a nap."

Andrea walked out of the room with an attitude. Orien sat on his bed and stared blankly at the white wall in front of him.

' I have another family. Will they like me? Do I have siblings? All of this is nerve-racking.'

He rolled around in his covers, trying to get rid of his anxiety. After a while of being lost in his thoughts, he finally got dressed and went to Mr. Edwards's office.

* Knock* *Knock*

" Mr. Edwards? I'm here for the beginner's dungeon."

" Come in. I've been meaning to discuss something with you."

Orien walked into his office. It looked like a president's office on earth.

" Sit. From the marking on your hand, your class has something to do with the blood arts."

" Blood arts? What's that?" Orien said.

" Check your system. It should've changed after the awakening."

' My magic stat is passed the limit. Should I tell him? No, I don't need to stand out.'

" My class says, blood manipulator. That wasn't there before."

" As I thought. That means your healing ability is different than others. I don't know if it's good or bad, but you need to make a choice. Are you going to be a healer or fighter?

" Why can't I be both? Do I have to choose?"

" Do you know what happens if a healer dies? How can a team fight while being injured? Use your brain," Mr. Edwards said.

' He has to be testing me. No way a man as strong as him would say something this stupid'

"Won't strong enemies attack the healer first? I'm also sure I would be a hindrance if the team had to constantly protect me."

Mr. Edwards let out a loud laugh before saying," Thank God. I was just testing you. Healers are usually weak in combat and just support. They are easily the most important liabilities on a battlefield. They have a hard time getting stronger, and their skills are usually non-combat. I'm glad we have a warrior and a blood arts user on our side. Let's get you to a dungeon."

Mr. Edwards made a few phone calls and the two made their way to the regular weapons room.

"Pick out any weapon you want here. When you come back, I'll give you resources to study the blood arts. It used to be a myth. Something that was lost from the days of the war in the past. Who would've thought I would meet somebody who can use it."

Orien walked through the aisles of weapons, gazing at the various designs.

" I would like something with some range like a spear, but I feel something with these scimitars."

He picked up a scimitar and gave it a couple of swings. The blade length was at least three feet and the handle was twenty centimeters.

' One feels great. What about another?' he thought.

He picked up a second scimitar and fell in love with it instantly. He walked back to Mr. Edwards and said, " Can I have these two? Please."

" Of course. Let's head out."

A carriage awaited them outside, and they rode for hours. Soon, they made their way to the outskirts of the city and into the mountains. People with different types of weapons and armor could be seen in the distance.

" This is where you'll get off. The goblin dungeon ahead is easy and nothing in there can kill you. Use this to hone your instincts."

The carriage turned around and Orien approached the group when he heard a large Ginger-haired man with a large and full ginger beard yelling. His armor was a breastplate is made from many layers of squared metal sheets. It covered everything from the neck down and ends at the groin. The upper legs are covered by rounded, half-covering cuisses. The lower legs are protected by greaves which have a large metal feather on each outer side.

" Attention! I am Desmond Franco. I'm the leader of this expedition. Those who want to follow me, come here. The others will learn on their own, and I'll give pointers here and there. This is an easy dungeon, but don't underestimate it. You can still lose your life here."

The group walked into the cave, and the stench was bad enough to almost cause people to vomit. Orien himself was struggling with the smell. The deeper they got, the worst it smelled. They finally came across a group of small, bald, green-skinned creatures carrying clubs made of wood. The group split with a large portion following Desmond. The others dashed toward the goblins brainlessly. Orien walked toward a goblin that was separated from its group.

' These things are a lot uglier than I thought.'

The goblin looked at him and made an inaudible screech before dashing towards him with his club. Divine eyes activated automatically and the goblin seemed to move in slow motion under Orien's gaze. His eyes showed him the possible angles the goblin could swing from the angle the club was held. The goblin swung left and Orien's mind told him to dodge towards the side it swung from. His body reacted, avoided the attack, and he sliced the goblins head clean off with his right scimitar.

A gold mist entered his body from the body of the dead goblin and he felt himself get slightly stronger. He looked at his hands. Green blood dripped down the curved swords.

' My first kill in this world. I don't feel bad at all. In fact, I want to see more blood."

He ran towards a group of goblins and hacked his way through with no technique. Just primal instinct. The others around him felt the bloodlust emitting from his body.

" Honey, look at the paper." A tall black man with golden gemstone eyes gave Orien's photo to a beautiful short-haired black woman. Her eyes were the same as his.

" Do you think it is him?" she said.

" He has jewel-type eyes. We'll know if we sense divinity. Let's go to the guild now."
