Going Down.

Before the fallen zombie could get up, Arthur dashed toward the only standing one and stabbed his make shift weapon on its neck.

The zombie had reached its arms outward to Arthur when suddenly a sharp weapon whizzed past it and lodged on its neck.

"Crush!"

With his newfound strength that he got from the four mana stones, Arthur's power while stabbing the spear was no joke.

The spear tore apart the left side of the zombie's neck and the whole head was hanging toward the right.

But Arthur didn't stop and gave another swing with his spear, completely detaching the head from the body.

"It's always better to cut the necks of these zombie bastards..."

He cursed and jerked off the blood from the spear before turning toward the other zombie who was getting up using a lot of effort.

"Thank god they're all still at the Zero order, because if not then I won't be able to even land a hit on them before dying."

Glancing at the slow zombie, Arthur muttered thinking about the various powerful zombies in his nightmares.

The nightmares were like regular dreams that everybody experiences which were hard to remember, with only a few fuzzy images lingering in mind.

So yesterday, when Arthur had written down all the important things in the booklet, he had given it a lot of effort and had remembered most of the parts of the nightmares which he made sure to highlight in the book.

One of the most important things that didn't actually relate to any events was the grading of the monsters and human beings in terms of power after the apocolypse.

The grading was as such; starting from zero order were the weakest of the beings, then they'll evolve to first order getting so powerful that even hundreds of zero order could not defeat them.

Similarly, then came the second order. And far as Arthur remembers, there were around six orders from what he had seen in his nightmares.

Staring at the zero order zombie limping toward him, he thought of the upcoming cruel monsters with horrifyingly strengths and felt the need to hurry to become stronger.

'If I keep on wasting my time, then it'll be my head that will be sliced apart....'

Gripping his spear in resolution, Arthur stepped ahead, easily beheading the zombie and ending it from its demise.

After killing both the zombies, he digged into their chests with a different weapon from inside his bag and took out the two mana stones.

Glacing at then, he thought.

'It should be around three weeks later, that people would come to find the mana stones and in hunger eat them making then realize that it was a source for strength and power.'

He took out a towel from the pocket of his pants and cleaned the mana stones before going back into his room and locking it.

Sitting in a lotus position, he put the two mana stones inside his mouth and let the energy sink into his body.

As he had already done this twice, and now with a much powerful body than before, it wasn't that painful compared to yesterday.

After a few minutes, he had completely absorbed the energy of the mana stones and got up while stretching a bit.

"From now on, I'll have to collect a large number of mana stones and then find a safe place before absorbing them all."

Done with everything, Arthur took a last glance of his apartment and stepped out into the corridor.

There were no one in the corridor, except for some slight growling noise coming from the rooms with their doors opened.

Taking sneaking steps, he moved away from his room and walked toward the room next to his.

He had already recognised the five zombies that walked into his room as a friend group who were partying till late night and had kept their door open in vigor.

But too bad they must have been bitten by an infected being, making them a friend group of zombies who ultimately lost their lives at the hands of Arthur.

He walked past several of the closed rooms, of which some of them had maybe people hiding inside or they had gone outside never to return again.

Instead of using the lift, Arthur decided to use the stairs as going down carefull while checking the surroundings would be a lot better than getting a suprise raid after the lift opened up in the ground floor.

He walked downstairs to the second floor and took a brief look at the corridor.

"Oh! More mana stones."

Arthur grinned looking at the six zombies lurking in the second floor.

It wasn't wise to face them head, and he had a perfect plan to take then out.

Opening up his bag, he took out a steel bottle and held it on his left hand with the other hand holding the spear.

Smirking, he took a sneak at the zombies and quickly threw the steel bottle toward the stairs that led downwards to the first floor.

"CLANG! CLING!"

There came a thunderous noise echoing throughout the closed corridor, making every single being present in the second floor jolt up at it.

And the most excited reaction was of course from the group of zombies who abruptly turned their heads toward the source of the noise and came running towards it.

Arthur remained sneaking at them and looked closely for an opportunity.

The long corridor had totat of six zombies who were standing at different distances. Four of them were standing near the stairs while the other two were a bit at the end.

The first four zombies hurried hearing the noise and went downstairs searching for their 'food'.

Meanwhile, the other two zombies who were following behind and were separated from them stopped in their tracks getting more excited when a prey stood right infront of them.

As for the prey they were thinking about?

Of course it was Arthur leaning against the wall and staring at the two zombies with his spear placed on his shoulder.

There was a smirk on his face as he waved happily at the same happy zombies.

"You must have heard that 'the early bird gets the worm', but do you know what comes after that?"

Arthur pushed himself away from the wall and blocked the two zombie's path while pointing his sharp spear at them.

"Let me tell you then, after that it says....."

He suddenly dashed ahead swinging his spear at one of the zombie who had widenend its eyes.

"....and the rest gets their heads chopped!!"
