61 CHAPTER - LVI
Feeling annoyed Modok launched an energy beam against the ship where Derek was.
Derek for his part jumped out of the ship while creating a shield absorbing the attack until he landed a few meters away from the adaptoid.
With a burst of speed and [Raging Fire] he appeared in front of the robot in less than a second.
With his shield charged with energy he put it in front hitting it with all his strength making it release the stored energy with a shock wave by force.
Seeing the robot fly by his attack he followed it tackling it towards a wall embedding it, without giving it a chance to speak he activated [Gigantism] in his right arm hitting without mercy the face of the Adaptoid then he held the face with his hand at the same time he released his claws nailing them in the face.
Derek : "This is what I'm going to do to you when I see you idiot"
He whispered very close wanting Modok to hear him, he began to pull tearing little by little what would become the face of the robot, tearing off half of the face up to the neck destroying the Adaptoid as if it were nothing.
Deactivating all his enhancements he turned around and saw Nat and Steve approaching him
Natasha : "are you okay?"
She said a little worried about the physical changes she could see in Derek while looking him in the eyes.
"I'm fine, I have everything under control" stated Derek looking at her and turning around watching as Johnny lowered the ship where he was, everyone went down except Johnny.
"You call my name" shouted Johnny as he jumped off the ship joining Tony and Thor, as the ship separated into three separate ships, beginning to fire on the AIM ships.
"So what's the plan" asked Kamala.
Natasha : "That door you see, we need to take it down since that's where the big head is" replied Nat.
"Then let's get going" said Cassie but several portals opened coming out flaming Adaptoids, Warbots and Synthezoids.
"So it won't be the easy way" said Dante smiling wanting to try out his new equipment.
"O come on when has this been easy" scoffed Derek pulling out Nigonho except it had Igni Runes written on it increasing the fire resistance of it, still he covered it with a layer of absorbent metal and fire making it look fierce.
The Warbots, Adaptoids and Synthezoids launched themselves against them.
Derek launched himself using [Flash Fire] making multiple residual images appear confusing the Warbot, he sent mana to the spear activating the [Spear Ki] ability from the tip of it and with a swing he cut off half of its limb taking it out of the swing.
He transformed his arm into a heavy sword and surrounded it with fire, piercing a weapon on the side of the robot.
He turned and dodged the fire beam of an adaptoid, he smiled when he saw the adaptoid
He raised his hand and pointed it with two fingers, he used [fire manipulation]
He felt the hand and fire running through his body going to his index and middle fingers, a small orange sphere was formed an inch away from his fingers, then a bright column of burning orange light shot out from the orange sphere, the adaptoid noticing the danger moved wanting to dodge but Derek only moved his fingers and the attack moved, at the end the column of light went through the robot's head falling to the ground without moving and disappearing in his inventory.
All that happened in a few seconds, without forgetting the Warbot manipulated the mana creating chains tying the spider robot, concentrated more mana in the spear, enlarging the Spear Ki surrounded by fire pierced the robot splitting it in half causing it to explode.
Theo, Cassie and Kamala who saw how strong Derek had become by defeating the Warbot and the Adaptoid quickly launched themselves against the other Fire Adaptoid.
Theo used his powers creating spears of magmas behind him spinning them throwing them against the Adaptoid that dodged it.
Cassie became giant activating the function of the arm that Derek had created energizing and increasing its strength.
With great speed he hit the body of the Adaptoid smashing it against the ground.
Kamala seeing this polymerized her body jumping 5 meters, enlarging only her arms and hands, raising and lowering them in a hammer blow that made the area tremble.
The robot got up with difficulty being able to appreciate dents of fists in his body.
Theo took advantage of that running towards the robot gathering a large amount of energy and flames in his hands when he was inches away from the Adaptoid already standing and almost recovered together the fire in a sphere that when it touched the robot expanded and sent it to fly.
Cassie raised her arm and shot a large beam hitting the adaptoid making it disappear.
"If you saw that guys, it's like I said hey Baby I'm back!" cheered Kamala turning to her friends.
Cap and Nat who had finished off the Synthezoids and Jen who was approaching with one leg of the Warbot throwing it at a Synthezoid that was crawling towards her with half of its body.
At that moment Tony, Thor and Johnny who had been preventing the ships from leaving San Francisco were called by Jarvis.
Jarvis: "Sir I managed to eliminate part of the signal but if the antenna is not destroyed I'm afraid it won't be of much help."
Tony shouted from his armor flying towards the antenna that was sending the signal the other two followed him, when Tony arrived he charged a lightning bolt, Thor began to spin his hammer and Johnny raised his flames pointing his hands towards the tower.
"Try my Uniray" cried Tony releasing a beam of energy.
Thor finished spinning Mjolnir releasing a gigantic beam, Johnny released his strongest attack Nova Flame concentrated in a beam of orange plasma, the three attacks knocked down the great tower.
Jarvis: "Sir I'm afraid the ships are still receiving the signal, now the signal is emitted from the central point where the Chimera exploded."
At that the whole area began to shake, the tremor was coming from inside the walls, Derek and the rest almost fell down from the tremor, Tony, Thor and Johnny went down to join the rest.
"Good to see you looking good kid and in new style" Tony said looking at Derek's physical changes.
Thor : "Haha and from what I see you have not only changed physically you feel different more attached to the magic?...but at the same time different" smiled Thor looking at the boy, no Warrior, he tapped him shoulder with a smile.
After greeting Derek they looked at the only door in the great wall that separated them from Modok and whatever he was doing.
Derek took the female adaptoid body out of the inventory and the spider robot where Lucy's consciousness was, he walked to the other body climbing it until he reached the face, the metal of the adaptoid's face started to move covering the spider robot until they merged, metallic hair as if it was cable formed on the robot's head, she stood up surprising everyone.
Lucy: "Haa finally."
"See, I told you that you could use your new body soon" smiled Derek to everyone's surprises "That I don't get left out"
Tony walked over "When we're done with George I'll ask how you accomplished that, for now we have to get in there" pointed Tony to where the tremors were coming from.
"Well looks like it will be old fashioned no cousin" said Jen tapping Hulk's shoulder affectionately, Hulk smiled like a child "Smash" he ran towards the door but it opened causing him to stop making him disappointed "Hulk want to smash", at this everyone entered cautiously ready for any attack.
Hulk being the first to enter looked around where the A-DAY explosion happened he growled, the rest of the avengers and young heroes entered looking at what looked like an empty area.
"We have to defeat Tarleton he is somehow still transmitting the signal" Cap said.
"It's because of his technomancy powers he must have somehow connected with the AIM satellites managing to send the signal to the ships" said Derek.
Tony nodded in agreement having thought the same thing, Tarleton or rather Modok appeared out of nowhere with a suit of armor covering his large head and in a hover chair with a look of madness.
Modok: "You must understand Avengers the beings with powers are the cause of all the problems in the world, that's why I must put an end to the plague that they are."
Modok shouted from his chair, from which four limbs came out of the back believing himself to be Doctor Octavius.
"This is getting weirder and weirder" said Nat.
Derek next to him nodded "And you say that now besides big head, now he thinks he's Doctor Octavius, Spiderman would sue him for the rights to his villains"
Nat smiled, Kamala, Cassie, Jen and the rest also smiled getting the joke except for Cap and Thor.
Modok: "It had to be you and that girl, since you guys showed up all my attempts for a world without powers have failed, they have tried to stop me from spreading my mist but it doesn't matter I have enough mist to cover the world."
At his statement the walls fell down, the floor opened up and out came ships with the difference that they were not Warships these were only carrying dark terrigen, as for Modok.
The first two limbs transformed into weapons and the other two enlarged twice as much showing that he had used Pym technology, then they were covered with purple energy increasing their power and lethality.
Not wanting to have any surprises Derek used to observe on the chair and limbs discovering that the mechanical chair was the combination of Stark and Pym technology, and for the final touch they were made of Adamantium.
"Shit, be careful with the psycho pervert's arms, they have Stark and Pym technology" warned Derek.
"Mjolnir will do" boasted Thor raising Mjolnir wrapped in lightning but Derek stopped him.
Derek : "And they are made of Adamantium" that stopped Thor in his tracks knowing how incredibly strong the alloy is.
"That doesn't change what we have to do" shouted Steve watching as the ships started to leave the zone
Cap : "Avengers, no ship leaves the quarantine zone, either bring it down or blow it up"
Hulk jumped towards the ships, Thor and Johnny took off and attacked the ship except Tony noticing that Cap was still looking at him.
Cap : "Tony you know the most about technology you have to bring Tarleton down so we can take him on together".
"That will be an Honor" Tony walked to the front looking at Modok "Time to settle scores Big Head" smiled Tony inside his suit taking off against Modok.
Derek walked up to Steve As he formed an absorbing metal shield on his forearm appeared to the shield Cap carries, he also put five runes on it :
Rune of Control: Absorption-Release-Shield, Rune of Wrath: +25% Attack, Rune of Pierce: +15% Critical Damage, Rune of Swift: +10% Speed and Rune of Death: +20% Damage per Kill.
As a finishing touch Derek used mana crafting using the magical properties to give the shield more functionality by making it become a folding arm shield
(Imagine a nerfed version of Kratos' shield)
And when cast back to its owner, the shield glowed becoming small while the Runes written on it glowed magically.
"Here Cap use it it will be a great help in this situation" Derek held out the shield to Steve waiting for him to take it.
Steve hesitantly took the shield "Thanks".
Derek : "You're welcome just remember you have to give it back to me, it's a unique creation and just use it as if it were the twin brother of your other shield, with a thought it will deploy, when you throw it it will come back to you if you wish."
Steve's eyes widened at what Derek said and he put it on, after he put it on portals opened up coming out synthezoids, elites, riobots and enhanced versions of each other.
Without holding back Derek wrapped his body in metallic scales and fire.
He activated his physical abilities Titanic Force, Hulk Muscles which is a Passive and Active ability, Gigantism, Berserker and Physical Boost making him look more savage and bestial plus a great expenditure of mana every second that would leave him empty if it wasn't for his great mana regeneration.
"Lucy, you know what your role is here, you are the secret weapon against the idiot" declared Derek.
Lucy: "I know Derek"
