Inside a familiar emergency meeting room in the Adventurers Guild, the same higher ups along with Krista, talked about the earlier event.
"So we've came to the conclusion it was actually a demon, not a devil?"
"Correct, there are three reasons for this. The most obvious one was it's strength."
"I agree, devils are worlds stronger than demons. Heck, even an Elder Dragon can hardly stand a chance against your average devil."
"Are they really that strong?"
The Guild Leader made a dark face, "I was alive during the war 150 years ago..... devils are true monsters."
"Okay then, why did this demon head towards the lake only to start a massacre?"
"Yeah, why was it so hell bent on heading to the Gruta lake? Wouldn't it fight back at least even a little?
The only casualties were the citizens initially around it when it appeared, but the only deaths happened inside that lake as they weren't our own."
"Back in the war... there was a couple of methods of getting to the under world, or realm of hell," The Guild Leader remembered the destruction they caused like it was yesterday, "One of those methods was to use a massive blood sacrifice at a location where there was a faint crack between worlds."
"But that doesn't answer the question on why it was so hellbent on getting back to the under world."
"Actually it perfectly explains it, that demon must've been on a mission assigned by a devil or noble archdemon to do something here."
The room became deathly silent at the prospect of that actually happening. If that was the truth then there was high possibility of another Eternity War befalling the shattered continents again.
The scariest part was the fact that they couldn't warn the others on the other side of the Void Chasms. Practically every continent was still recovering from the tragic end of the last war so none could communicate or travel to one another.
"The church will definitely be arriving here soon to do an investigation."
Krista who was silent this whole time, was thinking about the mysterious demon. There was definitely something off about that fight and it bugged her. Its wings, the way it escaped, and the reactions to her attack reminded her of something.... but what? She scoured her memories but to no avail.
The only reason why she got to attend these kind of meeting was because of her B~grade strength and her noble family. She was also good friends with the guild leader so she was trusted to listen to even their most top secret conversations.
The room became silent once more as the main questions baffled their minds....
'What could that demon possibly want with Kassio?'
'Are there more?'
'How will the church react?'

In a large and ancient room, a paladin wearing holy armor kneeled before a domineering woman in an extravagant cassock, emitting a monstrous aura. The day light that shone through the multi-colored glass pane behind her made the room look other worldly and sacred.
"Disciple Edmund, don't disappoint me."
"Yes your excellency!"
"Eliminate all evil in Kassio... without mercy."
"Yes your excellency!"
"Now be off."
The knight stood up and gave a deep bow before exiting through the massive doors.
After he left, a very old looking man came out of a purple mist and kneeled down in the same spot where the knight just was.
"Your excellency, Archbishop Odella? I wonder why you sent my only disciple to Kassio instead of one of your goon priests?"
"Have you ever heard of a void creature leaving the Void Chasm and isn't feral?"
"Has one appeared near Kassio!?!"
Void infected creatures either travelled or stayed near the Void Chasms. Ever since they started appearing during the Void Armageddon, not a single one has been seen outside of the Void Chasms.
"Not just any creature, but an actual dragon."
"A Void Dragon? I've never seen one in my entire life."
"Apparently it was only a youngling, but it had the wisdom of a human and the combat power of an adolescent. Luckily it was slayed by some unknown Dragon Slayer."
"!!!"
"I sent your disciple there not to just investigate the demons presence, but that Void Dragon too... I order you to watch from the shadows and separately investigate the matter of that dragon."
The old man was one of the churches secret Void Masters that they've been hiding for hundreds of years.
To the public, the church slaughtered void users whenever they appeared. In private, they offered them opportunities to serve them and if they refused, they were crushed with the full weight of the church.
The young paladin was one of the rare few that met the harsh requirements to learn from the old man. He's been eager to pass down his knowledge for decades, but only recently did he find Edmund.
From the beginning, the Archbishop had a disinterested look. It was as though she didn't care about the squabbles of those even a little beneath her.
"What about the elves? Will they do anything about Kassio?"
"Those tree huggers? Let them, they are no match for us. The church has been looking for another reason to start a holy war, maybe even a crusade..."
The old man didn't even react to her harsh words, it was more like he didn't care. The only thing he's ever truly cared for in his entire thousand years of life was the study of the void. The Void Dragon greatly interested him so if he was able to find that Dragon Slayer, then he would like to have a chat with him or her.
The Archbishop's expression turned from disinterested to sinister and scheming as she looked off into the distance, "The Prophecy of the Immortal Invasion will be arriving soon... we must prepare to take control of them before others learn of their abilities."
Centuries ago, the church received a prophecy from a reliable source that stated that billions of immortal beings would be arriving in different places all over Irona.
They would all have the bodies of many different races and their growth potential would be astonishing. Not even the gods could stop the impeding invasion.
This was obviously referring to the players and their ability to level up.
"If any of them have some skill in the void then send them my way. I shall take my leave to fill out my tasks..."
With that said and done, the Void Master used his magic to disappear into nothingness, leaving the Archbishop alone with her scheming.

Rayna hid her cloths in a nearby alley before chasing after Kyren earlier. When they retrieved them, they immediately traveled to Darien's place. He was behind the counter as usual, but this time he was reviewing a small stack of blueprints.
"Hey little boss, I found a great designer and we made some drafts for the equipment!" Darien looked like a kid who just got an early birthday present, "Give me your thoughts."
Kyren chuckled as he and Rayna reviewed and critiqued the designs to their liking.
"It will take around two months to gather all the materials and complete this. The items are extremely rare so even with money, you'll have to wait."
"Thats fine, actually that timeline is perfect."
Darien looked at the new girl to Kyren's side and noticed her blueish skin, "Is that a Mermaid..... HAHAHA, your group just keeps getting weirder by the day!!"
"Oh about that, I was wondering if you could take care of her for a few days before I find a place for her."
"Sure boss... By the way, you got the goods?"
"Hehe, you have the storage space?"
"Just cleared out a large area."
Kyren stepped off into a clearing in the store and started dumping dragon materials and Argent Rune Wolf bodies in piles.
After a while Darien started getting nervous, "How much do you have!"
"You can't take anymore?"
He face palmed, "I'll need you to help harvest everything."
"You'll have to teach me how."
"Ugh, sure."
.....
Kyren gained the job [Butcher] after helping Darien with the harvesting all day. This job was very useful because adventurers would tear down the bodies of the creatures they killed on the spot to lessen the load they had to carry.
Him and Rayna went to the bank and got themselves bank stones. They were interrupted last time so they had some bad memories on the way there.
Bank stones are transparent crystal tablets that utilize an advanced version of dimensional storage. If Kyren wanted to put a platinum coin into the bank stone and later wanted 5 gold, the magic runes on the tablet would separate the platinum into a thousand gold so he wouldn't need to constantly go to the bank and break his money. It was very convenient for people with a lot of dough.
Rayna was opposed to having a bank stone of her own because what was hers was his. Kyren adamantly refused and argued that she'll need it for when they were separated or she wanted to buy something herself. He also gave her one platinum as spending money, leaving him with thirty four platinum.
They rented an expensive hotel and he told her to watch his body as he logged off. He sat on the couch and told Rayna to sleep on the bed.
When he was in the library, he wasn't worried about anything happening to his body because their were guards swarming the place. Libraries housed many expensive materials that could greatly improve ones strength. You could buy skill books, job textbooks, technique scrolls, and even magic scrolls that held powerful spells.
.....
Once he left the game, he felt different. His body was full of energy and he didn't feel hungry at all. His skin and mind was much healthier. This was all due to the Longevity Corporation.
It was late at night and Andrew wasn't in his pod.
"*Sigh* How long till the open beta launches?"
<The open beta is supposed to launch a week after the private beta so in about 5-6 days. Thats around a month of in-game time.>
Tyler theorized that when players started flooding into AlKo online, total mayhem will be unleashed. The main reason why he thought this was due common sense. If billions of different races that were immortal and free willed just appeared out of no where, then of course the world order would be shifted greatly.
There was a little less than a month of in-game time for him to prepare.
.....
After he wen't for a jog and ate some solid food, he logged back in. He didn't need to sleep anymore because when someone used full dive tech, they would go into a sleep like state.
The first thing he noticed was that he was no longer on the couch, but in the bed... with Rayna.
'I said I was fine. She didn't need to-'
Rayna was crying while tossing and turning.
'A nightmare?'
He pulled her into his arms and calmed her down. Rayna nestled her nose into his chest while lightly inhaling his scent. Her dreams wen't from nightmares to scenes of total bliss. She slowly sank into his body and he did the same.
It was at this moment that Kyren finally stoped thinking about this world as a game and more of a way of living. He was falling for this silly little pup.
'Now that I think about it, I never checked her status ever since she was a regular Rune Wolf. Leo pull it up for me'
