Staying as far away from the White Saibamen's actual city as she could while still being able to look at them, Riley eventually decided that she'd had enough. These smart Saibamen were already beginning to form an advanced civilization, for sure, but it felt creepy in no small measure to be the target of genuine worship. She was glad when she finally had gathered enough data for her report that she could leave the planet and go to her next planetary target.
The next planet on Riley's list was inhabited by the artistic, blue Saibamen. Teleporting near the city, the first thing that Riley noticed was, "Is this music?"
As it turns out, the artistic Saibamen played music constantly. The air around the city was full of noise, but some of the Saibamen were still sleeping, in the middle of the day. Looking around the city, their exhaustion made sense.
"This place is amazing." Riley noted. The Saibamen had somehow managed to create a city even more advanced than the smart Saibamen's city. The buildings were made of rock and concrete, supported by wood frames. Their supposedly smarter counterparts hadn't managed to unlock the secrets to concrete yet. Maybe creativity was more important to growth as a civilization than straight-up brainpower at this stage. It would be interesting to see the similarities and differences between the two civilizations as time passed. At least in terms of technological progression.
As for the planet's composition, the smart and artistic Saiba-planets were pretty similar. Both were created based on the geological composition of Earth. As such, the Saibamen's future evolutions were going to develop entirely based on the individual races' needs.
While the smart, white Saibamen had grown longer limbs and gone down the 'monkey' line of evolution to some extent, the Blue Saibamen had evolved closer to humans. While the White ones hadn't seen the point in elegance, going for utility and function instead, the Blues were obsessed with it. Their second generation had ended up having six fingers on each hand, but other than that, they looked pretty human, with highly balanced bodies and delicate limbs, optimized for creating art.
They still grew at a higher rate than humans, though, proving that their evolution either wasn't finished, or wasn't going to be finished yet. Remembering that none of the second generation Saibamen so far had been shown to grow at the same rate as humans yet, Riley made a mental note to remind Chelsea that the Trees had only sped up the different species' evolutions, and those evolutions weren't finished yet. The smart Saibamen were probably the furthest along their evolutionary lines, due to the fact that their growth rate had been increased, rather than decreased.
As for blue Saibamen's fighting power, it was higher than Riley'd expected. While the first generation Blues had averaged 1,500 battle power, the second generations, looking like three-year-olds, had already matched their parents. They were going to end up growing far stronger than their parents. They were going to be nothing compared to the Reds, but that was par for the course. Overall, the artistic Saibamen had potential. It would just take a while to get realized, but they had time.
The next planet was the last warm one. It was home to the yellow Saibamen, and their modifications were a bit... strange. Not mental like the first four. These were the winged Saibamen.
"Umm... okay, I kind of expected this sort of thing, but it's still pretty incredible." Riley thought aloud.
The winged Saibamen seemed to like high places by default. As a result of that, the Yellows had ended up nesting at the top of the World Tree, building an entire city of almost two hundred people at the top. With every single Saibaman living on its branches, the tree had an interesting reaction to their energies. It went into overdrive, creating fruits. The fruits that the Yellows couldn't eat fell to the ground and rotted, and then their seeds eventually turned into trees far higher than the ones that had come with the world, though these didn't have any 'magical' properties like their parent. As a result, there were flying Saibamen and trees, all at the general height of a skyscraper. It was pretty incredible, even though their civilization was still in the throes of the 'hunter-gatherer' age.
As for the Saibamen themselves, they'd evolved in a way that maximized the wings that Mistress had asked the girls to fuse to their backs as an experiment. While the first generation's systems were set up to make them capable of using their wings, they mainly used their energies to fly, since the wings were based on those of hawks, and as smart as the girls were, they weren't any replacement for good old natural evolution. The first generation's power levels had grown higher than the artistic Saibamen's due to the amount of energy that they used in their daily lives, but they still only averaged 2,000 battle power. Riley suspected that their energy levels suffered due to the haphazard way that the wings had been melded onto their bodies, but the World Tree's forced evolution fixed that problem with the second generation.
The second generation of yellow Saibamen were far different from their predecessors. It was actually rather impressive. Their wings were darker, and their faces looked, for the most part, human. Of course, the resemblance to humans was rather weak. They'd evolved to make the most use out of their speed, and it showed. Their skin had transformed into something light but incredibly hard, like steel, or the beak of a really strong bird. Their eyes had developed a second layer of eyelids in order to shield them from the air when they flew at high speeds, and the two-year-old looking children were already half as tall as their parents, with five sharp, needle-like fingers that could meld together when they needed to use them to attack prey.
As for their power level, it had shot through the roof. Two years old, and already averaging over 10,000. They might be able to fight against the Red Saibamen in the future. At least, their Champions would.
These Winged Saibamen seemed to have a hierarchical society similar to the Reds, with the weak waiting on the strong, but unlike with the Reds, where the Champion fought constantly until they were finally unseated, the Winged Saibamen weren't as battle-oriented. The Winged ones only changed Champions every few days, rather than every few hours. The current Red Champion's power level was a First Gen, with a power level of around 30,000, while the Yellow Champion was a Second Gen, with a power level of 20,000. In the future, if those two planets fought, there would likely be a large disaster. Riley made a mental note to ensure that it would be avoided at all costs.
