The Tuffles were short, much shorter than Paragus expected. Paragus estimated that the Tuffles were all close to around 4 foot 9 with little to no muscle mass. They were humanoid in appearance, all having white skin, two arms, two legs and multiple cybernetic implants - some with glowing metallic eyes, others with strange cubes around their ears appearing like exotic headphones. The Tuffles also had metallic bands around their arms and feet with yet to be seen functions.
The Tuffle Queen was particularly short, only reaching 4 foot 5 in height and was relatively plump in size. She stared at the Saiyans with curious eyes.
In Tsufurian Culture when a King or Queen does not have children of appropriate ruling age, a competition is held between all ambitious Tuffles, determining who the next King or Queen would be. Queen Nana the Third was a winner of the most recent competition when King Pearus the Fourth retired early. Needless to say, she was among the most intelligent of the Tuffles and debatably the most suitable leader of her generation.
Paragus studied Queen Nana, who was sat on a throne made of the iridescent metal Kirite. The throne was simple, a large crystalline chair with pillows at the seat and back. The throne was surrounded by mutant machines, notably the same type as Hatchiyak but with a bold black shine instead of Hatchiyak's usual red. They stood stationary, making little to no movement. Tsufurian ministers also lingered, moving from room to room in the castle, gazing at the Saiyans with interest.
'Their throne room puts our own to shame!' Paragus thought inwardly.
Celery and Aspa who were already there greeted Paragus who had just landed.
"Excuse my tact but why are you here?" The Tuffle Queen said bluntly.
Paragus, Celery and Aspa exchanged glances.
Aspa spoke up.
"We apologise for any disturbance we may have caused you but my friends and I were desperately fleeing from the evil Tyrant known as Lord Freiza," he said, dramatising the situation causing the Tuffle Queens's eyes to narrow.
"Please continue,"
Aspa then began to narrate the story, changing things where he thought necessary in order to win the Tuffle's favour.
"Our race was enslaved by an extremely powerful race, they forced us to do they work for them for centuries now, murdering anybody who opposed them, in the beginning, there were hundreds of us but they were all slain by his hand," Aspa continued, raising his hands at various points for theatric effect.
"Eventually, due to civil conflict, my friend hastily decided to leave the planet, deciding to take us with him," Aspa concluded.
A few of the Tuffles were captivated by their story, on paper, everything was logical and supported by the treatment and preparation of the Saiyan baby - no supplies, no food or extra clothes, especially after what could have been salvaged from the ship.
Nana furrowed her brows, Aspa had said that they left their former planet because of civil conflict, not because of the "dreadful tyrant" who was chasing them.
"What was the cause of the civil conflict?" Nana said trying to get all the puzzle pieces.
"King Vegeta was going to kill my son," Paragus spoke up.
Nana's expression twisted when hearing the words "King Vegeta", all Saiyan royalty had that name, going all the way back to the Saiyan-Tuffle conflict. Vegeta had become something of a curse among Tuffles, so from the point alone that King Vegeta had wronged the people in front of her, almost made her want to help these people.
Almost.
Previously on Planet Plant the Saiyans and Tuffles reached a point, to where a complete genocide of either race was necessary for survival. It was not an exaggeration to say that the Saiyans and the Tuffles were sworn enemies and yet...
"We won't force you off this planet," Nana said decisively.
Many of the advisors in the throne room were internally distressed at their Queen's decision but they were not idiots, they knew better than to voice their opinions immediately.
Paragus and Celery looked at Aspa with a sense of pride, they had relied on Aspa's silver tongue before and it seemed to work again.
"However!" Nana said boldly.
The smile on Aspa's face quickly thinned, he was feeling pleased with himself before what seemed like an if clause was being made.
"You will not be staying here for free! You will not only train to protect our planet from any threats, but you will also be required to give some of your DNA for our research as well as assisting with any manual labour tasks were require you to do." Queen Nana said stoically.
Paragus, Celery and Aspa let out a sigh of relief, while the conditions were not extremely pleasing, it was a thousand times better than being Freiza's armed goons. On top of that, they could train to become stronger which was every Saiyan's wish.
"Do you agree to these terms?" Nana said somewhat impatiently, the Saiyans relaxed taking more time to respond to her ultimatum.
"We do! We wholeheartedly agree to your terms and look forward to collaborating with you in the future, My Queen!" Aspa said immediately kneeling, Paragus and Celery doing similarly.
'Tch! This Saiyan knows how to talk!' Nana noted inwardly.
"Where is Mushro," Celery said, only now realising the biggest idiot was missing.
"If you're talking about your adult friend, he was in horrific shape, we were barely able to salvage his life," Nana said, her beautiful white eyes unmoving.
The advisors, after hearing Nana's proposal, marvelled at their Queen's intelligence. How would their ancestors feel if the descendants of the race that wiped them out were willing to lay down their lives for the descendants of their own?
The Tuffles were inherently peaceful people, working on technology that would better their own lives and be convenient for their people. Even when they were pushed to the brink of extinction by the Saiyans they didn't develop war machines instead opting to create an evacuation vessel to leave Planet Plant for the betterment of their own people.
The Tuffles were inherently nice people. This deal was especially sweet for the Saiyans who could have been easily been tied down and killed by a Mutant Machine.
The Tuffles accepted the Saiyans into their society swiftly. The Saiyans became overnight celebrities due to their unique physiology and blatantly different characteristics. Before the Tuffles could appropriately exploit the Saiyans they needed to learn more about them.
"These Saiyans are a little bit too overpowered!" Dr Limiter said, exclaiming at his results. Mushro had managed to overcome what seemed to be multiple life-threatening injuries in under 24 hours with simple healing stimulants.
More than half of the diseases discovered by the Tuffles would have little to no effect on the Saiyans simply due to their unique blood. The Saiyan body was a walking cheat code.
Three Saiyans stood in a wide room wearing black training suits with various gems embedded on them. Small wireless devices were hidden underneath, sending information back to the Tuffles in the lab.
"This next test will determine your physical limits, please co-operate!" Dr Limiter, the head Tuffle scientist in the Biology Department, said excitedly.
"Begin!"
