Chapter 3: Black John Doe

Great Trunks immediately bowed to John Doe and apologized, saying, "Uncle John Doe, I'm so sorry. I was caught off guard and mistook you for the enemy from the future."

Just as John Doe was about to inquire, Whis arrived at Bulma's house with Beerus, having witnessed the fight between John Doe and Great Trunks, as well as Great Trunks' words.

"Oh, an enemy from the future?!" Beerus exclaimed, then glanced at Little Trunks and Great Trunks, quickly understanding the situation.

At that moment, Little Trunks was in a state of confusion due to Great Trunks' situation, especially after seeing the concern his mother and father showed for Great Trunks, which made it even harder for him to accept.

Beerus placed his hand on Little Trunks' shoulder and said, "Hey, kid, do you understand? That person is your future self, who traveled back in time using a machine."

"Is that so? Is that what happened?" Little Trunks asked, his face filled with surprise.

"Of course, nothing can escape my sight!" Beerus declared.

Meanwhile, John Doe was perplexed by Great Trunks' words. Shouldn't the enemy from the future be Black Goku? How did it become me?

John Doe asked, "Trunks, please explain. What happened, and why would the enemy be me?"

Everyone present turned their attention to Trunks, eager to learn what had transpired in the future.

Vegeta asked, "Could it be Majin Buu?"

Great Trunks shook his head and replied, "No, it's not Majin Buu."

"When Kaioshin came to Earth to search for Majin Buu, he eventually found me. Under Kaioshin's guidance, I first engaged in a fierce battle with the Demon King Dabura."

"Although Dabura was powerful, I didn't relax my training after returning to the future world. After a grueling fight, I finally managed to slay Dabura with my sword."

"I then proceeded to kill Babidi and ultimately dealt with Majin Buu."

"If it's not Majin Buu, then what do you mean by that John Doe? Didn't your John Doe die in outer space?" Goku asked.

Great Trunks continued his recollection, "When he first appeared, I thought he was Uncle John Doe, and I was about to greet him. I was thrilled, thinking I'd finally have someone to fight alongside me."

"But I never expected that after he appeared, he'd launch an attack on me without saying a word."

"Fortunately, he was probably overconfident and didn't resort to sneak attacks. He wanted to rely on his strength to kill me. After a fierce battle, I was severely injured and managed to escape using the Taiyoken." Great Trunks explained.

John Doe was aware of the Black Goku chapter but wasn't entirely clear on the details. However, he could be certain that the John Doe who appeared in the future was definitely not him.

Suddenly, John Doe recalled his previous trip to space when he almost had his body swapped by Captain Ginyu.

Although his body in the present world hadn't been swapped, the future version of himself must have been taken over by Captain Ginyu. Could the enemy John Doe be Captain Ginyu?

John Doe shared his speculation, explaining this possibility.

Upon hearing John Doe's words, Goku and Vegeta both nodded in agreement, convinced that the John Doe who had suddenly appeared was indeed Captain Ginyu in John Doe's body.

John Doe continued questioning Great Trunks, "Trunks, tell us, is the future John Doe that powerful? Did he force you to travel from the future to the present?"

Trunks wasn't sure if the future John Doe was Captain Ginyu, but he was certain that the body belonged to Uncle John Doe, even if the soul within wasn't.

Great Trunks continued his recollection, "After defeating me, he began wreaking havoc on Earth and slaughtering humans."

"Because he liked wearing black, we called him Black John Doe."

"Black John Doe, what a terrible name!" Bulma interjected with a laugh, trying to lighten the mood.

Great Trunks quickly added, "That, that was the name given by my future mother."

Bulma became embarrassed, never expecting that the name was given by her future self. She quickly followed up, "Now that I think about it, it doesn't sound too bad."

Great Trunks continued, "The humans of the future formed a resistance army to stop Black John Doe's killing spree, but their strength was no match for him."

"The result was that the human population kept dwindling, and soon, the remaining humans could only hide in the sewers to evade Black John Doe's pursuit."

"I fought Black John Doe several times, but his power kept growing with each encounter. Eventually, I could barely withstand a few of his attacks."

"With no other choice, my mother and I retrieved the time machine and traveled back to the present. But..." Great Trunks trailed off, unable to hold back his tears. Everyone realized that the future Bulma's situation might be dire.

Great Trunks finally revealed, "In the end, my mother sacrificed herself to cover my escape to the present. She died at the hands of Black John Doe."

Vegeta, standing nearby, clenched his fists in anger.

At that moment, Goku consoled Trunks, "Trunks, rest assured. Since you've come to us for help, we will definitely assist you in defeating him. We won't let you face him alone."

Trunks, however, wore a troubled expression and said, "But, but the time machine's energy is only sufficient for one trip. Even if we gather the energy for time travel in the future, it will take a whole year."

"A year?!" Goku exclaimed, unsure of what to do. Who knew what could happen in a year's time?

At this point, Trunks asked, "Since it's a time machine, why can't we travel to the moment I arrived, or even earlier?"

Great Trunks explained, "We can't. The future and the present are not just a matter of time sequence; they are already two parallel universes, two worlds operating in parallel."

"The flow of time in both worlds is the same. If we alter the time machine's settings, I might not end up in my original world."
