Chapter 10: Repairing the Time Machine

After hearing Kibito's words, John Doe sighed and said, "Alas, I feel truly wronged. It's only because I was the last one to make a move and defeated Hit that Zamasu chose to swap bodies with me."

"If it weren't for Vegeta expending too much energy earlier, and Goku being eliminated by a cheap shot, either one of them could have eliminated Hit."

"I really feel so wronged!"

Hearing this, Vegeta's initially unsettled heart calmed down, and he thought to himself, "So that's how it is. It's not his fault for choosing to swap bodies with John Doe."

Just as they were chatting, a rainbow light suddenly descended in front of them.

As the rainbow light dissipated, Whis and Beerus appeared.

Goku quickly asked, "Lord Beerus, how is the situation?"

Beerus replied, "Hmph, when I went to the tenth universe and confronted Zamasu, he initially refused to admit anything. I directly exposed his actions to his face."

"In the end, under my pressure, Zamasu finally admitted to his deeds."

"And he even tried to attack me, but I destroyed him, eliminating a potential threat to this world."

As Beerus continued, his tone became increasingly proud, filled with a sense of self-importance.

"That's good. Now, all that's left is to go to the future world and eliminate Black John Doe," said the Supreme Kai.

Time passed, second by second. Bulma, Dr. Briefs, and the others were working tirelessly to repair the Time Machine.

As time went on, after a day and a night of hard work, they finally fixed the Time Machine and filled it with the necessary energy fluid.

The next day, John Doe and the others were delighted to see the newly repaired Time Machine.

John Doe, Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks had all finished their meditation, and Vegeta had even taken Future Trunks to the Spirit and Time Room for a year of training.

John Doe said, "Let's go. We'll head to the future world and take care of Black John Doe once and for all."

The four of them climbed into the Time Machine, but they soon realized that the space inside was too small for all of them; it was clearly too crowded for four people.

The Time Machine could only accommodate three people at most.

Trunks, Goten, and Axel Doe, who were outside, tried to help close the Time Machine's hatch.

"Come on, we're almost there!" Trunks cheered on his two companions.

But at that moment, John Doe shouted, "No, stop, my back is about to break!"

Seeing the difficulty they were having squeezing into the Time Machine, Bulma started thinking of a strategy. Suddenly, she remembered a machine she had invented in the past.

Bulma shouted, "Wait, I'll go get something. With this, you'll all be able to fit into the Time Machine."

"Ah, okay!" the four of them replied.

In a short while, Bulma rushed out of the room, holding a watch-like machine in her hand.

"Who wants to wear this machine?" Bulma asked, looking at John Doe and the other two.

John Doe and Goku simultaneously pointed at Vegeta and said, "Him!"

Vegeta was still processing the situation, but seeing the machine Bulma handed to him, he reluctantly put it on.

"How does this work?" Vegeta asked after putting it on.

Bulma explained, "This is a shrinking device. Press this button, and it will shrink you." As she spoke, Bulma helped Vegeta press the button on the shrinking device.

Instantly, Vegeta's body shrank to the size of a palm.

Seeing this, Goku suddenly remembered and exclaimed, "Ah, I remember! Bulma, didn't you use this machine when we were kids? It's truly amazing!"

"Great! Now you can all fit into the Time Machine," Bulma said happily.

And so, the four of them squeezed into the Time Machine again, with Vegeta standing on Goku's shoulder.

Future Trunks closed the Time Machine's glass cover and activated the machine, as everyone cheered them on.

Android 18 gave John Doe a thumbs-up, and he returned the gesture. Then, the Time Machine disappeared from the yard.

When the Time Machine reappeared, it was already in the future world. Looking at the outside world through the glass cover, John Doe, Goku, and Vegeta all had serious expressions on their faces.

The outside world was truly devastating, with ruins and rubble everywhere, smoke filling the air, and some places still burning with fire.

The Time Machine landed on the ground, and the four of them stepped out, with Vegeta returning to his original size.

"Trunks, put away the Time Machine and keep it safe," Vegeta instructed.

"Do you feel that massive evil ki?" John Doe asked Goku and Vegeta.

"I do," Goku replied. "Especially the strong evil intent mixed within the ki. I wonder why someone with such evil ki exists in the realm of the gods?"

Just then, Future Trunks suddenly exclaimed with joy, "Mai is still alive!" After saying this, Future Trunks flew off into the distance.

John Doe, Goku, and Vegeta exchanged glances and followed him. They remembered that Future Trunks had once said that Mai had sacrificed herself to cover his retreat while fighting Black John Doe.

Under a broken wall lay a young woman, her breath faint and weak, like a flickering candle in the wind, ready to extinguish at any moment.

John Doe quickly took out a Senzu Bean and handed it to Future Trunks. Seeing that Mai couldn't eat the Senzu Bean directly, Future Trunks had no choice but to help. He chewed it and then fed it to Mai.

In a short while, Mai woke up and immediately threw herself into Future Trunks' arms, sobbing with joy.

In the instant that John Doe and the others traveled through the Time Machine, the disturbance in ki caught the attention of Black John Doe, who was drinking tea on a balcony.

Sensing the unfamiliar ki, Black John Doe gently put down his teacup and said, "I never expected that there were still a few big rats hiding in the dark. This time, I'll clean them all up for good."

After saying this, Black John Doe went to the place where the Time Machine had appeared but found no one there. He started to power up, attracting the attention of those who had just arrived in this world.

John Doe, Goku, and Vegeta immediately sensed Black John Doe's power-up.

"This guy is provoking us. Let's go teach him a lesson and show him that just because he swapped bodies with John Doe doesn't make him John Doe," Vegeta said, leading the way with John Doe and Goku following.
