Chapter 41: Shadows of Defeat

Chapter starts on Kurayami, and Malgarius rises from the ruins of the temple where Seraphine sent him flying.

Malgarius: "A good shot, I must admit. I felt that one quite a bit."

He glances down at Seraphine, who is still unconscious.

Malgarius: "Damn, do you know how much that hurt?"

With a malicious grin, he starts kicking her unconscious body around.

Malgarius: "Well then, Selene, was it?"

Selena, filled with anger, rises to her feet and gazes at her wounded disciples, Kai and Seraphine.

Selena: "I'm truly pathetic. Something like this happened to my students right before my eyes."

Selena clenches her fists, determination shining in her eyes.

Selena: "I won't forgive myself for this. I'll use every ounce of my power to stop you."

With fierce resolve, Selena charges at Malgarius, but he disappears using the Afterimage technique, reappearing above her on a nearby hill.

Malgarius: "I have to admit, it was quite an experience. And today, I've seen something remarkable," he says, nodding towards Seraphine. "I'm in a good mood now."

Malgarius holds the Void Key in his hand.

Malgarius: "So, I'll spare your lives for now. But remember, when my Lord returns, it will be the end for you. The entire universe will kneel before him."

With a final taunting remark, Malgarius retrieves Vaelithra, Elara, and Sylvara, then teleports away from Planet Kurayami.

The chapter ends with Selene contacting the Galactic Patrol HQ, reporting that the target successfully stole the Void Key, marking the mission as a failure.
