Quidditch Tryouts

About a week and a half into the school year, the first of the Quidditch Tryouts were beginning, with Slytherin house holding their tryouts Saturday morning, Gyffindor holding theirs Saturday afternoon, and Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff having theirs on Sunday.

Draco and Holly, naturally, were looking forward to the try-outs, and thus showed up a bit early as the last of the Slytherin's were leaving. Some of the Slytherin's glared at Draco and Holly, but the pair ignored them, Draco because to him they were not even worth consideration, and Holly because she was focused on the fact that Draco was holding her hand.

Once all the Slytherin's had left, the first of the Gryffindor's started to arrive, and of course Fred and George were leading the group, each carrying two brooms. The other Gryffindor's were all admiring Fred and George, who possessed a Nimbus 2000 each.

Spotting Draco and Holly, though, the twins headed straight over to them. " "As requested" " Fred and George said in sync with each other while offering their old brooms to Draco and Holly..

The other Gryffindor's were a bit confused by the twins passing off brooms to a couple of first years. Fred looked at the gathered Gryffindor's "Draco here is a good pal, even gifted us these Nimbus 2000's. All he asked in return was for us to bring our old brooms to loan them so that he and Holly could try out for the team this year."

After that, other Gryffindor's that had come to participate went to speak to Draco, and he was suddenly quite popular with quite a number of people. The number of people gradually increased until there was nearly forty Gryffindor's present for the try-outs.

When Oliver Wood showed up and the try-outs started. At Draco's suggestion, Holly tried to become a seeker while Draco aimed for a chaser. Draco had his try-outs before Holly did, and really gave it his all, and actually thought he did pretty damn well.

At the end of the try-outs, Oliver looked over some notes a bit before making an announcement "Can I get Angelina Johnson, Alicia Spinnet, Draco Malfoy, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, and Holly Potter to stay. I thank the rest of you for participating in the try-outs."

A lot of people were disappointed as they left, and Oliver looked at Holly and Draco as everyone gathered "You two showed incredible talent. Will you be able to have brooms for actual matches?" this was his main concern.

"While we borrowed from Fred and George today, Holly and I both have Nimbus 2000 racing brooms." Draco reassured Oliver Wood "But were not allowed to officially bring them unless we made the team, so I'll get them here soon."

Oliver nodded in acceptance of this answer "Alright, our first practice is next Saturday in the morning. Welcome to the team."
