Chapter Three : Birth

Akio "I choose... yes, Of course, I want to reincarnate, I mean, anyone who gets this opportunity would gladly accept being reincarnated and getting to live again if they had died already and even getting new skills to boot with it." And as Akio said those words with excitement, the being then replied.

??? "Well, I guess being smart doesn't necessarily make you more mature, eh. But I think reincarnation is one of the kids like you like to think of these days, so I should have expected you to accept this mission easily."

And just as the mysterious being finished saying those words, a blue screen suddenly popped out in front of Akio's eyes, seemingly being filled by multiple words which using Akio's smarts and knowledge as an Otaku, figured out to be skills from he had watched/read before.

Then as Akio was about to say something to the mysterious being previously talking, he continued to say something. ??? "And just as I promised, I should grant you skills that you may be familiar with, and the screen your seeing now is the skills that you are allowed to choose since I had already removed the skills that you may wish for. That is not allowed, so you can only choose among those written on that screen but don't worry, that list has more than a thousand skills, so I doubt that you can't find any gifts you fancy."

??? "Yeah, and you can take your time here since the concept of time in the void is practically non-existent, so no matter how long you stay here picking your skills, no time will pass from the time you will be reincarnated again."

??? "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you earlier, but since the world, you already live in is mostly now destroyed due to the collapse of humanity, I can only reincarnate you back into that world when the world is already stable, so the range of time from when you died, and the time you reincarnated may range from a hundred to thousands of years."

After hearing those words, Akio felt sadness for a bit. He thought that maybe when he finally reincarnated back to his world, either that his family, friends might be long gone by then, but as he started to think, he suddenly exclaimed as he had just thought of something about the Great Wiping.

Akio "Hey God, or what should I call you again? Can I ask you something?"

Rob "Just Call me Rob, but what is your question, human."

Akio " So as I know before I died, everyone got petrified right by the Great Wiping."

Rob " Yes, you are right, Human, but what does that have to do with your question again."

Akio "Well, if it's true then could everyone who had been petrified still be alive as from the research I had read back then the concept of certification states that in theory, once a person had been petrified alive there is a certain chance where a person who was petrified still be alive once the petrified person had removed the stone covering right."

Rob "Hmmmm, Human, your question indeed sounds make sense from your world's concept of science, and also. Your words may be true since previously, as we were choosing a person to be reincarnated before picking you, mysteriously some humans, despite in petrified form, seems to have their life force still running through them, which implies that their consciousness may still be active despite that it should have shut down already."

Rob "So based on your question, although slim there is a slight possibility of the people from your time survive through millions of years and maybe give you the chance to meet them once again. But even if they had the willpower to, there is no way to cure their petrification caused by the Great Wiping as known from the other worlds inflicted by the Great. Wiping, which only numbers four right now, including yours, so who knows, maybe you could find a way to cure them with either the power of magic or maybe even the science in your world."

After hearing the possibility of his friends and families to have survived the Great Wiping, Akio, who had just a few minutes ago felt a bit lost due to his sadness of thinking that all the people he knew about was dead, suddenly was positive and not sad anymore as Akio felt that he at least had hoped to meet them once again. After getting his hope back again, Akio then focused on picking the three skills that he will obtain from Rob.

[??? weeks later]

Akio, after finally picking his skills after much deliberation and thinking, while also thinking of various uses he could think of in his mind as simulations, finally finished picking out his three skills. And through the time he was choosing his skills, Akio was surprised that even though his body, or at least the body he sees right now in the void, didn't once get tired at all or even got hungry for that matter.

And due to that, Akio was able to spend more time thinking of various scenarios in his mind to use the different skills in the display of skills that he had reviewed over for the last ??? weeks of him staying inside the void. And as he remained inside the void unknowingly to both him and Rob at the time, Akio, due to prolonged exposure to the void environment, was slowly assimilating various characteristics of the void, which would become a blessing in Akio's life in many situations.

Akio "Hey Rob, I finally finished choosing my skills."

Then just as Akio shouted that in the void, the voice of Rob suddenly said

Rob "Oh what really, finally how long did you take to choose skills? You are probably the longest reincarnation who spent weeks just picking three skills. Here. Ugh, so since you spent so much time here, even if I did say you could freely spend your time, the other guys need to use this place, so come on, tell me the skills to transport you already.

Then after Rob finished talking, Aiko said, " So okay for the first skill I would like is Regeneration which from the test I conducted in my mind other than the description of the skill, which says that the skill can only heal injuries much quicker than normal, It also helps me improve in my training my body like due to the regeneration ability the results of my training is double than normal."

Aiko "The second skill will be Appraisal, which can help me identify everything about anything, like allowing me to see the strengths and talent of a person and seeing of relative information about them like age, affiliation, and It could also be used to see my progress my appraising my self to note the changes in me after I finish the training I had planned to get stronger once I reincarnate. Besides the description, I also found that it has a hidden effect of identifying possible combinations of certain materials, magic, etc. And lastly, allowing me to identify new types of fauna that the world has probably occurred after I got reborn since I doubt even if I reincarnate by the bear minimum of a hundred years after that event, I know that certain animals, plants, or even bacteria have evolved."

Akio "Then for the third and final skill I want is Perfect Memory which as Its name says allows me to have perfect memory which would be perfect as even if I'm smart, I doubt I could remember all the things that happened before I reincarnate and retain all my skills since I am a normal person after all. And also would be great to remember everything I discover in the world that includes magic, which I bet would be an extremely complicated idea since I would say probably the first in the world even to use magic."

After finishing saying all the skills that he had chosen to Rob with a look similar to that of an excited child, Akio then looked in the direction where he could hear Rob's voice with an expectant look.

Rob then replied, "Okay, kid, the skill you chose are actually the top tier skills that were listed in the list I gave you, and surprisingly, you even already discovered the hidden effects of those skills without even using them yet in a real body yet."

Rob "So other than that since I got attached to you a bit while you stayed here, I'll give you a little gift me, an extra skill which might help you make a new age in your world, but you can't see it, yeah and I also won't say it now so It will be a surprise later on when you arrive."

Rob "So after all the time we spent here in the void together, good luck, and may you have a great life ahead of you, Akio."

And just as Rob had said those words to Akio, a white light suddenly came out of nowhere. It hit Akio in an instant without even allowing Akio to reply to Rob's comments.

And as he was left alone in the void, another voice suddenly appeared in the void which was much more feminine than Rob's as the voice then said to Rob, "So he actually left huh, didn't think a guy like you known for mischief among us Gods, would take a liking to a mere human from the lower realms, and even grant him that skill."

Rob then, after staying silent for a while, replied to the feminine voice, "Well, what can I say? I saw a bit of myself in that kid when I was young, smart, but childish. And maybe other than that, I feel another threat in his world that we might not have accounted for."

The Feminine voice suddenly said with a tone of surprise, "Hey, what do you mean another threat? Didn't we already managed to control the effects of the Great Wiping in his world only to petrify humans and not their entire world instead."

Rob "I know, but I have a feeling that it may have something to do with S#$@..."

[ In a particular Village located near a large lake]

In an ordinary hut in the village, a woman was giving birth surrounded by many middle-aged women while accompanied by a few elders.

One of the women in the room "Anise, push, it's almost there, your son will almost be born, just bear with it for a bit more."

The woman who was giving birth, now known as Anise, then shouted with pain felt by the tone of her voice. But after giving a final push, she finally gave birth. After giving birth to his Son, a man beside her who was a burly man with a formidable physique was crying with tears of joy as he said

"Anise, finally we have a Son after all these years of trying, and I vow now as the father of our child, I will raise him to be big and strong, so he lives freely." And as this man who seems to be the husband of Anise said this. Everyone in the room after taking care of the just born baby and cleaning up the mess of Anise's childbirth and by Anise's request her Son was handed over to her by the people earlier even in her weak state Anise then said while looking at her son "My baby boy I hope you grow up as great as your father one day, So unlike me and your father you will have the freedom that we could not have my son Akio."

And Anise had just said her Son's name; the world had experienced another event similar to that of 3702 years ago. But instead of green light, a shining blue light instead covered the world as a whole, unlike the first event that petrified everyone. This blue light, instead, on the outside, didn't change anything. Still, in the next generations, this event will be known as the Great Awakening. The humans in this world filled with dangers unlock a power deep within them known as magic.
