Chapter 9: Meeting Ariane

The sword from the female cloaked attacker swung downwards at where my head was as a speed which most would only see as a blur.

I simply side stepped and used my hand to smak the person, on the back of the head as they moved past me.

They were hurt by my light slap, and turned around to glare at me with hate and frustration.

The figure continued to attack me, but I kept dodging their attacks by weaving down and to the side.

I would sometimes go into their personal space and grab them with my arms and swiped them with my legs to fling them over and onto the ground.

That's when I got a clear view of their lilac colored skin and hair, and golden eyes.

They had pointed long ears and a youthful face. This was Ariane Glenys Maple. She was more than 50 years old and yet she still looked very beautiful.

(A/n Im Novel said she is at least 50. Maybe in her 70s to 80s.)

Artorias: "Stop this. I haven't even used my sword against you yet. It's futile."

I could hear Ariane chant her magic under her breath, as she got up and prepared her stance with her sword in hand. I had been able to hear her full chant, but her second half was in a louder voice as if proclaiming it.

Ariane: "---Consume all you touch to Ash!"

*sigh*

She really is stubborn isn't she.

I took out my sword and parried a swing she had sent towards me, as her sword was now balzing with fire.

I parried swing after swing to the side, as she would continue to fight me.

I locked blades with her and a slight shock wave was made.

I was using a non enchanted blade since I don't know if my enchanted sword could cut through her own weapon.

While elvish blades, especially hers since she is a warrior of Maple, was of high quality than normal Human craftsmanship.

I can see Ariane groan and wince in pain as she was barely able to clash with my own strike.

Afterall, I had delivered enough Force behind my swing to be able to cleave a boulder and a SUV perfectly in half.

Ariane: "Hand over the Elves you kidnapped Human!"

Artorias: "I don't take any Elves."

Ariane: "Lies! All you Humans are the same! Enslaving our kin! Yo-"

Without listening to another word she has to say on her monologue, I grabbed her by her wrist with one hand and flipped to spin her in the air and onto the ground.

I got ontop of her and held her hands behind her back to restrain her.

She tried to escape but to no avail.

Artorias: "Know that I can just as easily kill you now. Now which do you wnat to do? We can still fight and see how that goes, or I can let you go and we'll have a proper civilised talk between two individuals on equal standings?"

She wanted to say something at first, but closed her mouth before sighing.

Ariane: "I choose to talk..."

I released her and we both got up to stand straight, she didn't attack me as I I threatened her.

Ariane: "What do you want to talk about?"

I didn't beat around the Bush and git straight to it.

Artorias: "I know you are searching for the kidnapped Elves. Hold on, stay your blade! I want to help you."

Ariane: "Why would a Human wmat to help an Elf."

Artorias: "Tell me, are all Elves good, no. There are good and bad to everything. Good and bad Humans, good and bad Elves, good and bad People Of The Plains And Mountains. I am no different. You may also be suprised to know that Princess Yuriarna Merol Melissa Rhoden Olav of the Rhoden Kingdom is actively trying to make peace and unity between Humans and Elves."

Ariane was a bit shaken up by the revelation that a Human, especially royalty of an Kingdom, would want to make peace with the Elves to be their friends and ally.

She tried saying something but seemed to realise that i can't be lying and If I were, she can just get her father and grandfather Fangas Flan Maple to go visit the Princess and confirm my words, which I know will definitely happen regardless.

Ariane: "I-...but why do you want to help us? How can I trust you?"

Artorias: "I didn't kill you even though I could have. Is that a good enough reason. Inside the cave are some cages, most likely used to hold your kin within. They are empty as they had cleared out the Bandits and looted the place dry. The Lord of Diento, Lord Triton, the one solely responsible for kidnapping your Kin. I had interrogated his son Audrain and confirmed it. He is being held in a secret location, when you have saved your kin, it if you want to speak to him now and get the intel from him, then tell me and I'll take you to him or can bring him here. Just because one Human had broken the treaty between the Elves, does not mean the entire Human Race must suffer the consequences does it?"

Ariane: "I-I...you-I...Thank you for the information! I must go now!"

She immediately turned rail and ran away, I know she has great doubts and is conflicted by everything I I just dropped on her.

She never believed that a Human could want to be nice to an Elf before. When she meets Darcy she will believe it then.

As for now, she was trying to dent what I had said to her, but everything I spoke was the truth, and she knows it.

But as for me, I'll go meet Danka real quick before I go help them save the Elves.

I did exactly that. I followed the Rydell River and found a figure in a cloak with greenish-gold hair being revealed as it flew out of the hood.

Artorias: "How's it going there?"

Danka Niel Maple turned around and drew his sword at me.

Artorias: "Calm down. I only came to give you a note."

I tossed the piece of paper I had written on onto the ground in front of me. It was tied to a small rock so that it wouldn't fly away in the wind.

The letter just told him everything I suad to Ariane as well as the location of the Elf children that were being held captive by a few of Audrain's men in the carriage.

With that done I had left, and ignored his words of doubt as he spoke to my back.

He eventually picked up the letter as I know he can't resist reading it.

With that done, I went to said cave I said in the note, and waited nearby to aid them when one of the men takes the Elf Children hostage.

In the original, it was Audrain who did it as the others were idiots to not use them as leverage.

But I had used [Bend Will] on one of the ones I had confidence would survive, i also had ordered him to go and stay nearby the cage as to not get killed by Ariane and Danka.

Now my plans are set, all I need to do is wait.

I feel like such a bad person...oh well, I'm just taking advantage of the situation. Nothing wrong with that, is there?
