Chapter 8: Weapon Design

Long Tianwu did not underestimate Long Tiandao any longer, as he takes his son attack seriously. Raising his sword Long Tianwu slash upward, putting all his strength behind his attack, aiming to ward off Long Tiandao attack.

To his surprise, as he met Long Tiandao attack head-on, the second strike arrives right after. The force his son attack immobile him, as Long Tiandao second strike not only weighing him down but cutting off the momentum of his bamboo as well.

Bang! The bamboo in Long Tianwu hand breaks as the force from Long Tiandao continuous attack cause it to split apart under pressure. Su Mengjun stands up from her seat, surprised by the strength of her son. Long Tiandao physical strength is at least on the same level as his father, if not higher. Is it an inborn divine strength?

Long Tiandao attack didn't end there as he locks his father in place, as he quickly turns his body, striking out with the bamboo in his left hand, producing another horizontal strike from the opposite direction.

Long Tianwu didn't look good as he was lock into place all of a sudden, as Long Tiandao twist his body, turning toward an opposite direction. This sudden change in movement from Long Tiandao causes an alarm to ring inside Long Tianwu head, as it screaming " Danger! Danger!"

Long Tianwu quickly execute his movement techniques, trying to dodge the incoming strike. Too bad the momentum and velocity from the Long Tiandao strike are so great that it still manages to cut his sleeve, even though he did move out of the way.

Long Tiandao did not continues with his attack as there is no longer has any meaning to it, landing a cut on Long Tianwu, this battle has ended in his victory.

Meanwhile, Long Tianwu face was full of surprise as he said," Well done, Tiandao. Your basic sword techniques have reached the levels of mastery. I never thought you could dual-wields so well, consider it's the first time you use it against me. You can rest for today, as I have something to discuss with your mother."

Long Tiandao bow toward his father and mother before collecting the scattered pieces of bamboo cleaning up his training ground. After cleaning up the training ground, he went on to take a nice shower, cleaning up dirt and sweat from training.

Living in the 21st century, Long Tiandao know the benefit of soaking in a cold bath better than anyone else. Long Tianwu and Su Mengjun were shocked when Long Tiandao asks for a cold bath after physical training on his first day. They decide to try it out with their son for safety reasons, but after knowing the immense benefit of cold baths, they start to adopt this practise into their everyday lifestyle.

Inside the bathtub, the cube of ices was floating around on the water surface, covering Long Tiandao body from view as he soaks inside. Closing his eyes, Long Tiandao was deep in thought, thinking about things that have happened during the past six months.

After the Spirit Awakening ceremony, a lot of good things have happened to him. The Garden of Eden, the Muteki-Tenseigan awakening and the twin martial spirits. The life he has in the Douluo continent is too good to be true, as compared to Tang San and Tang Wulin, his starting point are so much higher than both of them.

Since the first day Long Tiandao start his sword training, his father did not teach him any specific sword techniques due to the uniqueness of his martial spirit, which can be equipped onto any weapon and give them sword property.

Due to this reason, Long Tianwu decide to teach the basic weapon techniques, which mainly focus on how to draw, pierce, slash, receive, intercept, deflect, flick, sweep, revolve, parry, slice, and sever.

Those weapon handling movements when practising with a different weapon of choice make it vary from one another. Every weapon has a specific way of grip, keeping balance and moving.

Long Tianwu and Su Mengjun decide to let their son practice with bamboo instead of the actual weapon as they said since he learns to become a Mecha designer, he should be able to design his weaponry. By allowing Long Tiandao to wield bamboo during practice, he will realize sooner what kind of weapon suits him best.

There are two types of sword weaponry, which is single-edged blade and double-edged blade. Long Tiandao Ambidexterity: Flawless Coordination is more than just an ability to use both hands simultaneously, as the speciality of this talent is the ability to split focus at will.

This innate talent allows him to ignore the different lengths of weapons as he can even use two long spears at the same time if he wanted to. Today is the first time he wields two bamboo sticks in a spar against Long Tianwu, as this makes him realize what kind of weapon he needs.

The reason he never uses a dual weapon during a spar against his father before is mainly his wish to learn how to wield one weapon more effectively, as only then can he use his talent to wield both weapons to their true potential.

Long Tiandao need a weapon that can express his basic weapon techniques to the fullest. Between the single-edged sword and double-edged sword, Long Tiandao favour a single-edged weapon better, as a dual sword wielder tend to do more slashing than piercing.

Long Tiandao start to remember something as back when he was still Rios Gracie, watching movies is one of his favourite thing to do when he doesn't want to watch anime or read the manga. One of the movies called " Clash of Titan ", featuring a sword granted by God to the main character.

Although compared to mythology, the sword design might not be the same but what Long Tiandao value is the beautiful design of the sword itself.

Featuring a body of a two-edged blade, it has a three-dimensional cross-sectional shape of an elongated pentagonal or hexagonal blade and a single-edged cutting blade.

Long Tiandao want to make some modifications toward the blade to suit his usage. Closing his eyes, he activates his simulation talents to create a blueprint inside his head.

Opening his eyes, Long Tiandao notice that the ice cubes he had in his shower had already melted, as this means he been closing his eyes for at least an hour and a half now.

Long Tiandao spend so long to find a perfect dimension for the blade, changing the straight sword to a gently curved blade. By doing this, he will preserve the sword original characteristic and increasing its cutting edges power.

The long sword hilt design does not bother Long Tiandao at all, as practising with bamboo for the past six months give him more than enough skill to handle the long hilt sword with one hand.
