Douluo: Crow's Guiding Light

In a world where martial arts reign supreme and the divide between the privileged and the commoners is stark, Sheng Jun, an orphan born into a humble background, grows up ignorant of the ways of combat. Despite his lack of training, he possesses a latent talent that goes unnoticed until fate intervenes in the form of a dying martial master, himself a product of commoner origins. Recognizing Sheng Jun's untapped potential, the master takes him under his wing as his final disciple, passing on his knowledge and skills before drawing his last breath. With the weight of his master's teachings on his shoulders, Sheng Jun vows to use his newfound abilities to challenge the injustices plaguing society, where the powerful oppress the weak. Facing formidable adversaries and daunting obstacles, Sheng Jun's resolve is tested time and again. But with each challenge he overcomes, his determination only grows stronger. Along the way, he gathers allies from all walks of life, united by a shared desire for justice and equality. As Sheng Jun's reputation as a champion of the oppressed and a teacher for all spreads, he draws the attention of those who see him as a threat to their positions. In the end, Sheng Jun's journey culminates in a final showdown with the forces of tyranny that lasts for 30 days, where he is slain due to his only weakness being exposed. He closed his eyes in both regret and satisfaction; regret because he never really had time to enjoy his life, but if given another chance, he would still make the same choices. Still, his last thought was that of satisfaction, knowing that his goals had been accomplished. Little did he know that this was not the end for him, as he opened his eyes in the world of Douluo Dalu. ... I'm writing this fanfic primarily for myself and for those who are interested. The MC will primarily interact with the original main characters of the show, but he will not harbour prejudice against Spirit Hall or hate them in any way without a good reason (obviously since they help common people awaken their martial soul). This is not a harem fanfic, and the MC will not pursue romantic relationships with the original characters. Instead, he will focus on helping them improve in strength and character, particularly Ma Hongjun and Dai Mubai. English is not my first language, so there may be many typos and mistakes. This is also my first book, as I didn't find any Douluo fanfic that suited me, so I decided to write one myself. You can't imagine how unbearable my sister and I feel when reading some fanfics. Of course, some might feel the same about my fanfic, and you're free to have your own opinion, so ignore it if you don't like it. By the way, I have no idea how Chinese names work so if you see a mistake please feel free to comment.

Grandmaster's Gratitude and Tang San's Shock

Xiaogang's eyes widened in astonishment as he opened them, a panel-like object appeared next to everything he looked at. It was a sensation he couldn't quite wrap his mind around, despite having a premonition of his manifested ability. The shock of seeing it firsthand left him momentarily speechless.

His special ability is named 'Sage's Eyes' which granted him the ability to view basic information of every being he laid his eyes on.

To access deeper information about something, he needed to possess knowledge of that specific thing. The more he understood, the more detailed information would be displayed. As he pondered the possibilities, he couldn't shake the feeling that this ability could be further enhanced as his Heavenly Dao Sutra continued to improve and he acquired more spirit rings.

As if in response to his thoughts, Xiaogang felt a stirring within him, a loosening of the bottleneck that had hindered his progress. He sensed that with dedication and perseverance, he could break through to the next level of cultivation, which he thought was impossible in this lifetime.

Overwhelmed with emotion, tears welled up in his eyes, streaming down his face in a mixture of joy and gratitude. Not only had he gained the opportunity to advance to the next level in this lifetime, but he had also been bestowed with a gift that would allow him to guide and teach his disciple with greater insight and wisdom.

As Xiaogang's tears flowed freely, Flender and Tang San couldn't help but be filled with concern. But Xiaogang simply waved his hand dismissively, assuring them that he was alright.

Once he had composed himself, Xiaogang began to recount his experience and discoveries. As he spoke, their eyes widened in astonishment and excitement.

Among them, Flender seemed the most excited, his enthusiasm palpable as he listened to Xiaogang's words. After all, he knew that the stronger Xiaogang became, the stronger their Golden Iron Triangle would be in the future. Tang San, too, was shocked by his teacher's words, his curiosity piqued by the mention of such a magical technique.

As Xiaogang finished his explanation, he turned towards Sheng Jun and bowed deeply, a gesture filled with humility and gratitude. "Xiao Jun, thank you for teaching me such a heavenly technique. If you need anything in the future, I will do my best to fulfill it" he said, his voice trembling with emotion.

Sheng Jun was taken aback by Xiaogang's display of respect, but he quickly stepped forward to help him up. "Grandmaster, you are teacher's friend" he said, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Please, you don't need to bow to me"

After a moment of consideration, Xiaogang gathered his courage to make a request. "Additionally" he began "even though it might be presumptuous to ask, as I already owe the debt I can't repay in this life, can you please teach this technique to Tang San as well? Although it hasn't been long since I accepted him as my disciple, I can guarantee his character. He won't leak your techniques"

He paused for a moment, considering Xiaogang's request to teach the technique to Tang San. "Grandmaster, I can indeed teach this to Tang San" he continued, his tone thoughtful. "Since you trust him so much, as teacher's friend, I naturally will trust your judgment"

Sheng Jun's gaze softened as he spoke. "Besides" he added "I don't really care much about the technique. I'm actually inspired to spread it to the whole world, but it's just that if it spreads before we have enough strength to protect ourselves, we will be put in danger. So I ask both of you to not spread it before the time is right"

Turning his head towards Tang San he asked "Tang San, right? My name is Sheng Jun, and this muscle head here is my brother, Ma Hongjun" Sheng Jun said, gesturing towards Ma Hongjun, who shot him a playful glare due to his introduction.

Tang San returned the introducton with a nod. "Yes, that's correct. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sheng Jun, and Ma Hongjun" Tang San replied, his voice steady and respectful.

With the formalities out of the way, Sheng Jun turned his attention back to Tang San, his expression serious. "Now, Tang San, I need you to trust me" he said gently. "Let go of your mental defenses completely. I will start imparting the technique"

Tang San hesitated for a moment, his gaze flickering with uncertainty. But after a brief internal struggle, he made a decision and released his mental defenses, placing his trust in Sheng Jun.

As the information flowed through his mind, Tang San couldn't suppress a gasp of shock. Despite his expectations, the profoundness of the technique surpassed anything he had imagined. It felt as though all the cultivation techniques in the world had been refined into a single technique. Even the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record paled in comparison in certain aspects.

His astonishment only deepened when he manifested a special ability called 'Phantom Hands'. With a touch, he could make any object turn invisible at his will, escaping detection from any source. However, he understood the limitations, the larger the gap in strength, the easier it was to see through the illusion. Yet, he was confident that as he progressed in the Heavenly Dao Sutra, this weakness would be overcome.

As he completed the absorption of the information, Tang San couldn't help but regard Sheng Jun with newfound respect. The selflessness with which he shared such a precious technique, without demanding anything in return, inspired admiration in Tang San. He even harbored a desire to spread the technique in the future, a testament to Sheng Jun's selflessness.

However, Tang San's heart was tinged with regret as he contemplated how to repay Sheng Jun's kindness. Although he longed to teach him the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record as a token of gratitude, the strict rules of the Tang Sect forbade the sharing of sect techniques with outsiders. Unless Sheng Jun joined the sect, Tang San would be unable to fulfill his wish.

Nevertheless, Tang San made a silent vow in his heart to find a way to repay Sheng Jun's kindness in the future with determination burning in his eyes.

Let me explain the Heavenly Dao Sutra in detail now. This might help you understand it better. Don't worry; I won't count this toward the word count for my chapter, so this chapter (13) will still have over 1000 words + this. This will also be posted in the Explaining Heavenly Dao Sutra in Detail chapter (might be edited in the future).

The Heavenly Dao Sutra (Humans/Spirit Master) has total of 10 levels, as follows:

Level 0: Starting point when you begin learning and don't actually understand it yet.

Level 1: Achievable through hard work, persistence, and time. At this level, you unlock almost all functions of the Heavenly Dao Sutra, including soul power (qi) cultivation, a chance for special ability manifestation (upon obtaining the first spirit ring), and an increase in physique. Cultivating to the peak of this level before Martial Soul awakening grants Innate Full Soul Power, boosting your talent to that of those who are born with it. Achieving this level before Martial Soul Awakening from scratch is exceedingly rare, akin to a one-in-a-million or even one-in-a-billion occurrence.

Level 2: Also attainable with hard work and time. This level includes all functions of Level 1, plus the total assimilation of your previous spirit ring into your Martial Soul, making it growable, and a special ability upgrade (upon obtaining the second spirit ring).

Level 3: Requires a bit of talent and comprehension. This level represents a threshold where bottlenecks start to appear. Breaking through this bottleneck can be achieved through talent, comprehension, or fortuitous opportunities. All functions of the Heavenly Dao Sutra are available at this level, along with another special ability upgrade + Increase in lifespan.

From Levels 0 to 3, comprehension plays a significant role, rather than talent.

Level 4 and beyond: Progression requires both talent and comprehension. All functions available and upgraded (except cultivation speed) and special abilities continue to upgrade with each level. Other effects might be added in the future.

The Heavenly Dao technique does not necessarily need to match your soul power or spirit ring levels. Practitioners can indeed cultivate soul power using other techniques and resources. However, it's essential to note that only by cultivating the soul power cultivation technique provided by the Heavenly Dao Sutra can one break through innate limitations, such as talent and potential. Soul Power cultivated by the Heavenly Dao Sutra is also denser and purer compared to other techniques.

The Heavenly Dao Sutra (Animals and Plants): They cultivate it instinctively, akin to how humans breathe, until they reach the 3rd level of the technique. At this point, they gain spirituality and intelligence, after which they experience bottlenecks similar to humans.

Besides sharing similar functions with humans (except for the growable spirit ring, as all their spirit rings are already perfectly assimilated into their Martial Soul [If the Spirit Beast is transformed human]), Animals and Plants will also experience an increase in bloodline purity and have a chance to evolve into superior species. It's worth noting that this evolution only occurs within the same species, meaning, for example, a rabbit can't evolve into a monkey.

Now, let's discuss the main character's perks as the creator. There aren't many; he simply gain an additional special ability each time the Heavenly Dao Sutra advances a level.

Late chapter because I couldn't decide on a special ability for Tang San. I ended up with Phantom Hands, which I think is pretty fitting due to his talent in hidden weapons.
