Douluo: Crow's Guiding Light

In a world where martial arts reign supreme and the divide between the privileged and the commoners is stark, Sheng Jun, an orphan born into a humble background, grows up ignorant of the ways of combat. Despite his lack of training, he possesses a latent talent that goes unnoticed until fate intervenes in the form of a dying martial master, himself a product of commoner origins. Recognizing Sheng Jun's untapped potential, the master takes him under his wing as his final disciple, passing on his knowledge and skills before drawing his last breath. With the weight of his master's teachings on his shoulders, Sheng Jun vows to use his newfound abilities to challenge the injustices plaguing society, where the powerful oppress the weak. Facing formidable adversaries and daunting obstacles, Sheng Jun's resolve is tested time and again. But with each challenge he overcomes, his determination only grows stronger. Along the way, he gathers allies from all walks of life, united by a shared desire for justice and equality. As Sheng Jun's reputation as a champion of the oppressed and a teacher for all spreads, he draws the attention of those who see him as a threat to their positions. In the end, Sheng Jun's journey culminates in a final showdown with the forces of tyranny that lasts for 30 days, where he is slain due to his only weakness being exposed. He closed his eyes in both regret and satisfaction; regret because he never really had time to enjoy his life, but if given another chance, he would still make the same choices. Still, his last thought was that of satisfaction, knowing that his goals had been accomplished. Little did he know that this was not the end for him, as he opened his eyes in the world of Douluo Dalu. ... I'm writing this fanfic primarily for myself and for those who are interested. The MC will primarily interact with the original main characters of the show, but he will not harbour prejudice against Spirit Hall or hate them in any way without a good reason (obviously since they help common people awaken their martial soul). This is not a harem fanfic, and the MC will not pursue romantic relationships with the original characters. Instead, he will focus on helping them improve in strength and character, particularly Ma Hongjun and Dai Mubai. English is not my first language, so there may be many typos and mistakes. This is also my first book, as I didn't find any Douluo fanfic that suited me, so I decided to write one myself. You can't imagine how unbearable my sister and I feel when reading some fanfics. Of course, some might feel the same about my fanfic, and you're free to have your own opinion, so ignore it if you don't like it. By the way, I have no idea how Chinese names work so if you see a mistake please feel free to comment.

Bai Chenxiang's Guiding Plan

"Hmm, interesting" Sheng Jun mused as he read the report in his hand, his expression reflecting a mix of surprise and intrigue. "To think there is such a peculiar blessing, or should I say curse, in this world" he remarked, his curiosity piqued by the unusual information in the document. This 'blessing' is unique to the Speed Clan, granting them accelerated cultivate speed before Level 38.

The report detailed the unique situation of Bai Chenxiang, also known as Yu Feng, who hailed from the Speed Clan. Sheng Jun learned that she had embarked on a journey of training in disguise, assuming the persona of Yu Feng, a disguise that had brought her into contact with Ma Hongjun, coincidentally a year prior. With such coincidence, he couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle.

Initially intending to enrol at Heaven Dou Imperial Academy upon completing her education at the Advanced Spirit Master Academy. She probably planned to stay there until reaching Level 38 of her cultivation. It was at this threshold that her rapid cultivation speed, once viewed as a blessing, transformed into a burdensome curse, rendering her progression stagnant until she undertook the drastic measure of replacing her original Martial Soul and Spirit Rings with those of another Martial Soul. However, this transformative process came at a significant cost: the sacrifice of her memories before the ritual.

As Sheng Jun pondered over the information regarding Bai Chenxiang's curse and the potential means of nullifying it, a smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

"The solution to this curse is not as impossible as one might believe" Sheng Jun remarked, his mind already racing with potential strategies. While it may not be easy, it's certainly within reach.

The key lay in the evolution of her Martial Soul. They needed to evolve to such an extent that it would adamantly refuse replacement. In essence, when a Martial Soul reached such levels of power, could a mere curse stop it from getting stronger?

As Sheng Jun delved deeper into the information about the Wind Chime Bird, a smile graced his lips as he thought of the potential evolution path of this Martial Soul.

"Ah, Hongjun, it seems luck is truly on your side this time" Sheng Jun mused to himself, his smile widening at the thought "Perhaps, both of you were fated to cross paths" he added, with a smile.

The unmistakable characteristics of the Wind Chime Bird, bearing the traits of the Phoenix bloodline, only fueled Sheng Jun's excitement, as he came to the final decision.

His objective was clear: to guide Bai Chenxiang's Martial Soul along the path of evolution, ultimately transforming it into that of a top-tier Martial Soul Ice Phoenix. Not only would this enhance her strength and capabilities, but it would also ensure compatibility with Ma Hongjun's Martial Soul.

As Sheng Jun contemplated the potential evolution of Bai Chenxiang's Martial Soul, he couldn't help but feel a headache due to her previous absorption of spirit rings. Her Martial Soul evolution journey would have been considerably smoother if she hadn't absorbed any spirit rings before this point.

In an ideal scenario, she would have been able to absorb spirit rings from bird-type spirit beasts with ice attributes, that surpassed her limits each time, risking her life in the process, but with their help, she should have been fine. Moreover, if these spirit beasts possessed a Phoenix bloodline like the Tailless Snow Phoenix, the evolution process would have been even more streamlined.

Sheng Jun envisioned a strategy where Bai Chenxiang would undergo three such absorptions, pushing her martial soul to its limits and triggering a natural evolution into an imperfect Ice Phoenix. With the assistance of rare heavenly treasures like the Ice Veins Drop, her evolution could be further evolved into a real Ice Phoenix.

The Ice Veins Drop, a heavenly treasure, while obtaining such a treasure would require significant resources and effort, he was confident that with the resources at his disposal, it was still feasible.

However, with her at level 28 and having already absorbed two spirit rings of Wind attributes, it was indeed impossible to follow the ideal evolution path outlined earlier.

Considering the spirit rings she will have absorbed in the future being one of the Ice attributes and two of the Wind attributes, Sheng Jun pondered the potential solutions for her Martial Soul evolution.

The idea of using the Immortal Herbs such as Eternal Ice Flower as a catalyst for Bai Chenxiang's evolution sparked a glimmer of hope in Sheng Jun's mind. However, that hope was quickly tempered by the realization of the herb's rarity and the challenges associated with acquiring it. Finding such a rare and precious herb was indeed a near-impossible task.

With a heavy sigh, Sheng Jun could only try maximizing her potential with the Heavenly Treasures at his disposal. As for the Immortal Herbs Eternal Ice Flower? That's up to fate. Sheng Jun felt a sense of responsibility weighing heavily on his shoulders as he reflected on his promise to his little brother. It was after all the first time Ma Hongjun made such a request for him to impart the Heavenly Dao Sutra to another individual.

While Ma Hongjun's interest in Bai Chenxiang may not have blossomed into that of love yet. Sheng Jun couldn't help but ponder over Ma Hongjun's obliviousness to his feelings. Despite the genuine interest and care he showed towards Bai Chenxiang, Ma Hongjun seemed to be oblivious to the budding affection between them. He recognized that Ma Hongjun's feelings for Bai Chenxiang were likely masked by his sense of responsibility as a senior brother, but Sheng Jun believed that with the right stimulus, Ma Hongjun could someday come to acknowledge and pursue his true feelings for her.

However, Sheng Jun also understood the delicate nature of matters of the heart and the importance of allowing feelings to develop naturally. After all, this is not the same situation as his Teacher's, so he didn't plan to intervene....much. He needs to make sure that his interventions are subtle enough to avoid causing discomfort or awkwardness between Ma Hongjun and Bai Chenxiang. With that thought, he couldn't help but grin mischievously.

"Qinyu" Sheng Jun called out, expecting the familiar woman in the black cloak to appear.

However, to his surprise, it was a man who appeared before him, also clad in a black cloak. "Zane?" He inquired.

"Yes, Young Master, due to the plan being at a critical stage, the Team Leader decided to intervene directly. I am acting as her representative at this moment" the man explained respectfully, explaining his unexpected appearance.

With a nod of understanding, Sheng Jun wasted no time in issuing his next command. "Then, Zane, I need you guys to locate any traces of a Tailless Snow Phoenix that is at least 2000 years old but under 3000. If found, capture it alive and place it somewhere close to the Shrek Academy" he ordered.

Despite a twinge of remorse lingering in his heart, Sheng Jun reassured himself that these types of tasks were a necessary step toward achieving his objectives, at least until they managed to develop that technique.

"Understood" Zane acknowledged before swiftly darting away to execute the assigned task.

With Zane gone, Sheng Jun reached for his Dalu Link and initiated a call to Ma Hongjun. "Hongjun, I won't be able to impart the sutra to her right away as I promised. However, if she manages to reach level 30 within a year, I promise to teach it to her when I return to Shrek Academy after the company enters passive development" he conveyed with a smile, his words brimming with excitement.

Understanding the significance of his words, Ma Hongjun responded eagerly, awaiting the day his Brother would return to the Shrek Academy.

Three chapters today, I think I got addicted to writing.
