Chapter Twenty one

Lyndia and others waited anxiously for the arrival of Collins and Vanessa after Jack and the other lady went back home. Their bodies still reeks of blood but no one cares or even thinks about that right now, they kept looking at the gate as they stood in the compound.

"why are they not arriving already?", Lyndia said worriedly. Max wouldn't stop dialing their contacts but it repeatedly says ' not available ', and sometimes it will be ' not reachable '. They were all worried and scared. Just as they keep pacing to and fro, there came a knock on the gate. Lissa hurriedly went to open it but was disappointed as it was not who they were expecting.

"hello",

"how may I help you?",

"mm...I request to see Lyndia",

Seeing she came for one of them, she allowed her in. The woman's mouth was left agape as she saw all of them in blood.

"Who is she ?", John asked no one in particular,

"mum?", Lyndia was so shocked.

"your mum?", Vero asked,

Alice couldn't wrap her head around why they were all in blood," Lyndia!", she tried to touch her as she is worried that she is hurt but Lyndia moved away too quickly. Alice was so ashamed of herself.

"what are you doing here?, and how the hell did you know I'm here",

"Lyndia I'm sorry, I know I did hurt and offended you but I am sorry",

Lyndia scoffed remembering how she left her.

That morning, her father, Mr. Wilson had an argument with her for coming home late at the midnight, from a clubhouse. Rather than apologize to him for whatever reason that makes her act that way even though you had a kid, she fired back at him.

"don't you dare talk to me like that, you are the fool here so you'd better shut up, you know who I am before getting married to me you irresponsible impotent", she rained him with insults.

Wilson who had just lost his family, both mother and daughter was so depressed and couldn't help but go to the bar and get himself drunk. During his drunken state, he met a very beautiful lady who looks like his late wife due to the excess alcohol he took, and then he spent the night with her, without protection. The lady who was struck by Wilson's handsomeness couldn't wait to get down with him making her also forget about using any protection. Everything became clear the next day but the night activity makes the woman pregnant. She located him and announced the news to him, he accepted only on the condition that a DNA test will be carried out after she conceive. She gave birth to a baby girl and was confirmed to be Wilson's. He decided to love and care for his family, he makes himself believe this are the precious family he lost and get married to her after she swore not to be night stander anymore but she kept on going to the strippers' houses, and sometimes the club and get herself drunk. That morning she packed her belongings to leave.

"I'm sorry, I was only trying to maintain our marriage, I didn't mean to upset you in any way, I'm so sorry please don't leave, I've lost my family once < >I can't bare to lose this one also", he pleaded with her.

"mum please stay", Lyndia also pleaded. She was a little girl who wouldn't stop crying at the thought of her mum leaving her but she only pecked her and left.

Lyndia shook her head as she remembers.

"I don't think there's anything that can ever make me forgive you, you stopped being my mother the moment you left, for all these years and you are just coming?",

Alice wept, "I know I don't deserve to be your mum but I'm very sorry, It has been a week now that I have continuously searched for you day and night before I finally get to learned from a neighbor that you came here for sleepover <>please give me the chance to make some corrections, please give me another chance", she begged,

"I think it's too late", she said not even blinking an eye,' for years now, vampires have been everywhere but did you care if I'm dead or alive?", she became angry that she cried, "dad was always worried about you know the situation of security, he had to take care of me alone, did you know how hard it is for him, I was barely six when you left and I'll be eighteen in the next five months, I was just fourteen when vampires attacked our street and kidnapped my father. I had no idea if he was even alive or dead, I took care of myself alone, sometimes I was scared<>sometimes I felt insecure<>sometimes I felt the world is gonna end, and can you just think of how hard and painful it could be and now?, you think you can just barge in anytime you want and ask for forgiveness?, never, I mean nothing will ever make me think of accepting you back into my life, I only believed I have a father, my mother is dead", she said with pains in her heart but wasn't so sure if she meant every word spoken. She stormed away immediately after she finished her speech and dropped her eyeglasses on the table, then wept bitterly.

"I hate you, I hate you so much mum", she said as she cried out her eyes,

Everyone has gone inside except Vero who stood behind Alice and wouldn't stop crying.

"I know I shouldn't interfere in your family issues but Lyndia is my friend, I'm sorry for all the heartbreaking words she said to you but I hope you'd understand as you didn't even come at the right time, the situation on the ground is whelming already, please I'd love if you don't give up",

Alice nodded still crying uncontrollably and went out of the house, dejected.

Lyndia's friends tried to sympathize with her but it wasn't so easy as she couldn't stop crying. The night couldn't be worse for everyone.
