Ancient Ruins
Collic searched the entire bottom of the lake over and over again, without missing any details, but could not find any traces of Steve.
"Impossible! How could he have vanished?" Collic's face was sullen. "Even if he had a device that shielded his life characteristics, he still wouldn't be able to escape the energy sensor! Also, traces of his blood and the remains of his weapon are still here, so he must still be in the lake."
Collic did not want to give up, so the demon activated the residue energy scanner once again. As it did so, a hazy image of residual energy, which had most likely been left behind by Steve, appeared in front of it.
Anything that had been used would leave behind some residual energy, no matter how weak it was. In fact, even something as mundane as breathing would leave behind residual energy.
