Chapter 8
They each reached for their phone, Allie mildly amused to realize they shared at least one notification tone, but then again, it came with her phone and she imagined the same could be said for Sage. Her screen was dark. Sage studied her screen, eyes going wide, eyebrows shooting up. She practically leaped out of her chair, nearly taking out a passing skateboarder. She uttered a quick apology to the guy.
“My roommate had an accident.”
“Oh no, is he okay?”
“A friend took him to the hospital. He says he’ll meet me at home. I’ve got to go.”
“Of course.”
