“Sage? Are you okay? Oh no, this is a bad idea. I’ve taken it too far, haven’t I?”
“What?” She tore her gaze from the frolicking dogs, turning to Allie. Her hair was windswept, her expression crestfallen, and she sat slumped against the seat. “No, no, I swear, it’s nothing like that at all. I just…I brought Bixby to this place once, figured it might be fun, especially since people on the local dog group are always talking about it. What a splendid way to make friends, you know? A whole park full of like-minded people!”
