Chapter 78
Samuel immediately barked out commands.
''Middle Rank Warriors Step forward quickly, Low Rank Warriors retreat backwards and draw bows!''
Immediately fifteen figures stepped forward and stood beside Samuel each with concerned looks on their faces.
However Samuel also had a faint excitement, he believed he could fight a Late Rank 1 Warrior with so many strong warriors on his side. And the body of a Late Rank 1 beast is definitely a valuable prize.
The hippo definitely wouldn't let Samuel prepare to kill him.With an earth shaking roar, the teeth rotated viciously as it charged towards Samuel with heavy steps.
Samuel immediately urged his spiritual energy causing a small shield to appear in front of him. Suddenly the shield burst out with frost creating a snowflake like shield!
This is the true ability of the Frozen Shield, the low Rank 1 Warriors who previously used it couldn't manipulate it's power properly.
If a Rank 2 Warrior would be using this then the snowflake would definitely be tens of metres wide!
But this was enough for now. Although small compared to the beast, the power within is incredible.
The Snowflake fell daintily in front of Samuel, before bursting out and appearing in front of the large nose of the hippo.
The Hippo glanced disdainfully and continued to charge forward with its limited intelligence.
However immediately with the speed of an F1 car it barged heavily into the floating snowflake shield.
''GRAGHH!''
The beast opened its mouth with incredible agony letting out a deafening scream. It's nose had been thoroughly crushed by the impact and blue blood trickling down from the clearly shattered nose.
''Go!'' Samuel immediately ordered.
Behind him 184 Dogs of War pulled out heavy longbows made from a Spiritual Wood Called Elms Wood, and launched large arrows directly towards the large hippo in front.
Originally it could easily dodge these blows, but the Hippo was too distracted by the pain to realise.
Although the Dogs of War aren't focused on training in bows, they occasionally practice different weapons, especially since they are stuck in their realm.
Over a hundred of the arrows smashed heavily against the skin of the hippo, the speed comparable to bullets!
The heavy metal arrow tips caused dozens of small cuts to appear on the hide of the large beast.
However one skillfully shot arrow landed directly on the already shattered nose of the beast causing another round of painful cries.
While the Low Rank 1 Dogs of War began to reload, the beast finally regained its concentration and turned its head angrily towards the archers.
''Middle Rank Warriors begin to intercept!'' Seeing the Hippo was close and already preparing to attack again, Samuel and the other Middle Rank 1 Warriors took action.
Samuel leapt forward first, swinging his blood red spear directly towards the head of the Hippo.
The beast gave a cry as it swung a large tusk on its face towards Samuels body.
''Ugh!'' Samuel tilted the spear in his hands and blocked the blow but it blew him away dozens of metres and landed heavily on the soft sand.
But luckily the Hippo couldn't keep up its attack, immediately after SS1 materialised next to the head of the hippo, as a dark smoke had been slowly migrating over.
And EG1 appeared on the opposite side, slashing down a heavy greatsword.
The Hippo roared once again leaping backwards and launched its giant foot towards SS1 who was attempting to disappear, while shaking his head directly towards EG1.
EG1 hurriedly blocked in front of his body, while SS1 evaporated into a smoke before disappearing in front of the Hippo.
EG1 however bore the brunt of an attack. His arm cracked horrifically as he flew backwards landing in a pit opposite Samuel.
However EG1 seemed unfazed, he stood up, swapped the sword to his other hand and charged straight back in.
At this point the slower Middle Rank 1 Warriors reached the battlefield, leaping in to distract the Hippos attention while others slashed heavily against its body.
Then came the next round of arrows, this time very few were hit due to a moving target, but they still managed to cause some minor cuts.
Samuel watched this from a distance as he prepared to attack again. He poured his Spiritual Energy to cover the spear and his legs, before leaping towards the heels of the Hippo.
His spear stabbed out before the hippo could react, piercing heavily into the tendon at the heels.
A stream of blue blood poured out covering Samuel. However he couldn't relax, because the Hippos' foot stomped down towards Samuel in anger!
Samuel hurriedly manipulated the Frozen shield to appear above his head, however the force from the Late Rank 1 Beast was incredible. Even the shockwaves shook Samuels internal organs causing him to spit out blood.
Luckily the shield blocked a majority of it, as Samuel felt a flood of his spiritual energy be wasted when he had to reassure the shield.
He hurriedly leapt back getting out of the Hippos attack range, allowing the other Middle Rank Dogs of War to step forward and take over the defence.
But his attack was definitely effective, with every step forward the hippo had to avoid putting weight on his left leg, making a large weak spot for the Dogs of War to focus on.
Unfortunately Samuel underestimated the Hippos' resolve.
With a mighty cry, the beast dug its mouth directly into the ground gulping up a load of sand.
''Stop trying to run!'' Samuel immediately cried out loud and the Dogs of War hurriedly charged towards the large Hippo.
The Dogs of War hurriedly picked up their bow and began to launch them towards the Hippo!
But suddenly the Hippo stopped grabbing at the ground, his head raised towards the Archers in the distance and its horrifying mouth opened revealing a large boulder condensed from spit and sand.
''SHIT RUN!'' The Dogs of War Quickly realised what was happening, unfortunately Samuels wrong command had led to all of them preparing to shoot, and they couldn't run out of the way.
In the eyes of ten horrified Dogs of War, a giant boulder flew towards them at lightning speed.
