Chapter 22
Between the careful pushing and rubbing and the meds finally taking the edge off the bone deep ache, Dale began to relax.
“Flip over,” Riadh said.
Dale rolled onto his back.
Riadh was now kneeling at his side, hands lightly stroking Dale’s damaged shoulder and on across his collarbone. “Any better?”
“Yeah, it is.”
“Still looking for a happy ending?”
“If you’re in the mood to try,” Dale said.
Riadh bent forward and kissed Dale’s mouth. It was a long lingering one.
Something about the care and tenderness in the contact stirred Dale’s emotions, ones he thought had died along with Colin. The gaping chasm in Dale’s heart was still there but maybe there was a chance it would heal with the right kind of care.
