Chapter 21
“Food?” Dale asked tentatively.
“Enh, consumption of humans is more of a myth than a reality. A good sized cow has more meat than a person. Maybe the word ‘toys’ is more truthful.”
“So what are the chances she lives in a cave and sleeps on top of a pile of gold?”
“Probably minimal.”
“Should I take her up on her offer?”
““That is up to you.”
“Give me an opinion, babe. I have almost no clue what I’m doing. Is a deal with a dragon about the same as a deal with the devil? Looks nice on the surface but leads to misery and death?”
Riadh chewed his lip for a moment. “All I can offer is that a deal with a dragon canbenefit both sides, but the negotiation must be carefully agreed upon.”
“I’ll tell her the same thing I told that ass wipe Archimedes. You are not part of any deal.”
“Thank you.”
Dale reached out and rubbed his hand along Riadh’s thigh. To Riadh it felt like a cross between reassurance and a caress. Either way, he was okay with the touch.
