The Entrance Exam

Lining up towards the back of one of the 3 lines both Aeden and Mihael waited their turns. There were about 1,000 people in the 3 lines so it took awhile.

After about 30 minutes of waiting someone started complaining. The kid looked like a spoiled noble brat and he started yelling about how he shouldn't be in the same line as filthy commoners and how he shouldn't need to take the test because of his noble blood. Then he started pushing people out of the way to get to the front of the line.

Suddenly the overseer of the group cast a spell that tied the noble kid up in webs. The kid started yelling about how he didn't deserve this treatment and that he would have the overseers job. The overseer just spoke calmly to the kid.

I already told you the rules. Your status is about as useful here as a leaf is at cutting a tree down. That is to say absolutely useless. Now you will be kicked out of here and banned from ever trying to enroll again. 

Right after the overseer put his hand on the kids head as a mark appeared on the kids head branding him so that everyone knows he has been banned from the magic academy. The mark faded away but everyone who could use magic could feel the mark left there. 

Guards! Take this trash out of here . And get his father too.

The overseer walked away with a disgusted look on his face. After this nobody else caused any trouble out of fear of being banned as well.

After another half hour it was finally Mihael's turn to take the test. Walking through the doors into the testing room he saw a lady standing there with a notepad.

What is your name? The lady said.

I am Mihael. 

Alright please place your hand on the orb here and this will tell us your core rank and mana attraction rate. 

Placing his hand on the orb a dark green mana filled up the orb to the 90% mark. The tester quickly wrote it down on her notepad.

Alright please continue through those doors.

Mihael walked through the doors as he came into a room where everyone was waiting for the next test.

Aeden quickly completed the test getting the same result as Mihael before joining him in the next room. There they waited around for the next test to begin. It only took a few minutes for the rest of the kids to finish up before the overseer came into the room and began speaking.

Alright now that the first test is done and we have seen your core rank and mana attraction rate we will be testing your ability to control mana and to see if you can cast some basic spells. We will be calling you by name so please just wait here until you are called where you will then proceed through these doors into the testing room. Now can we please have Lily Vander, Adrian, Norma, and Eric Sapphire please come to the testing room. 

After around 20 minutes both Aeden and Mihael were called to the testing room. 

Alright for mana control please hold this small marble and move it as far away from you as you can with just your mana. The marble will act as a part of your mana which will let you move it around as if it was just your mana. 

Most people could move the orb around a foot away from their bodies before it dropped and fell but Mihael and Aeden managed around 4 feet thanks to all of the training that their parents gave them.

Alright now on to the magic spell portion. Cast your strongest spell you can one at a time please starting with you over there the tester said pointing at a brown haired boy.

Alright sir! He said with enthusiasm. [Oh spirits of earth I call on you. Grant me power to strike down my enemies. Stone Shot] 

Suddenly 3 small pebbles manifested in front of him and flew off towards the distance tapping against a target. The boy smiled looking satisfied with himself. 

Mihael and Aeden looked at each other confused. 

There are readable magic spells? Mihael asked.

I didn't realize that there was chanting involved with magic Aeden replied.

Alright next please the tester said pointing at a girl with green hair. Stepping forward the girl began casting.

[I call to the spirits of water. I ask of you to give me the unending power of a hurricane so I may destroy those in my way. Water blade]

A small line of water formed in front of her and flew forward splashing against a target barely doing anything other than getting it a little wet.

She seemed so proud of herself like she drowned it in water.

Alright your turn next the tester said pointing to Aeden.

He stepped forward and raised his hand towards the target. Suddenly wind condensed in front of him as Aeden spoke [Wind Blade]

The blade of wind flew towards the target and as it struck it sliced it leaving a massive gash in the target before it dissipated. The other two kids in the room were shocked and if the tester was shocked they didn't show it. They just quickly made a few notes before it was Mihael's turn

Mihael condensed a ball of fire in his hand before stretching it out and firing it off [Fire Arrow]

The arrow of fire struck the target setting it on fire before quickly going out revealing a scorched target and a hole where the arrow struck. 

The tester made more notes before sending the kids out of the room and calling more in. The brown haired boy and the green haired girl kept trying to talk to Mihael and Aeden trying to figure out how they did that but the two just kept silent and ignored them until they gave up and walked away. 

After everyone has been tested the overseer began speaking again.

Alright everyone there is just one test left. This test is to test your affinities with the different elements. 

Waving his hand a piece of paper flew out towards every kid. Grabbing them they were all confused on what they were for. 

Infuse some mana into the paper and it will tell us your affinities. Once you are done we will collect them and you can leave. We will send word to you withing the coming days about what class you will be in. 

Everyone quickly infused the paper with their mana getting a list of their affinities. Both Aeden and Mihael realized it didn't show the levels of their affinities just what they are. So the way their parents tested them was better since it showed the different levels of the affinities. Someone quickly walked through the room collecting the papers from the kids and delivered them to the overseer. Afterwards the kids were dismissed to the main room where their parents collected them and began leaving.

Hey you two how did it go Raziel asked both Aeden and Mihael.

It was quite simple Aeden replied.

It was super boring Mihael said.

Chuckling Usiel spoke. Yeah most tests are very boring. Now lets head home so you two can get some rest.

Walking out the family head back home waiting for news from the school about how Aeden and Mihael did.
