Just Another Day

It has been a couple days since Aeden and Mihael took the entrance exam for the magic academy and so far they haven't heard anything back about it. They have been spending their days doing what they always did. Training and even more training. They asked their parents about chanting to cast magic and their parents explained. 

There are any different ways to use magic. A lot of people use chanting to summon up spells but there are also rituals, hand signs, weaving and many more. These are usually used until the person can grow strong enough to cast silent magic or to craft the runes with their mana control. Now enough of that, back to training Raziel said with a smile.

After they finished up all of their training for the day and took a shower they were sitting in the living room with their parents. Their parents were reading books while both Mihael and Aeden were meditating and gathering mana when they heard a knock on the door.

I will get it Raziel said getting up and opening the door.

There outside he found a letter at the foot of their door. 

What is it? Aeden asked.

I think it your results from the entrance exam Raziel said.

Well come on open it up! Mihael said bouncing with enthusiasm.

Opening it up Raziel began reading out the letter.

It is with great pleasure that we inform you that both Mihael and Aeden have passed with flying colors and have been accepted into the S class. If you are unaware this is our highest ranked class and very few get the honor of being placed in it. We will be sending the school uniforms in the coming days and will expect both Aeden and Mihael at school in 7 days at 8am. 

I see we did pretty well on the test Aeden said with a slight smile. 

I told you we would do well Mihael said hugging Aeden while having a giant smile plastered on his face. 

Congrats you two on getting a high grade Usiel said. But that doesn't mean you are allowed to slack on your training or get cocky. If you do I will make you wish you never had the idea. 

Mom is really scary Mihael whispered to Aeden.

Yes mother is quite terrifying when she gets worked up Aeden whispered back.

Raziel just chuckled as Usiel harumphed and crossed her arms.

Alright now you two off to bed, it is getting late and you two need your rest. Raziel said while walking to the stairs. Goodnight you two.

Goodnight mom and day both Aeden and Mihael said.

Goodnight Usiel said while giving them a kiss.

Aeden and Mihael walked upstairs and took turns taking a shower to get ready for bed. Before they slept they spent some time meditating to gather some more mana before laying in bed and heading off to sleep.

Outside a storm was brewing. The demon cult was spreading through the city like a virus while the church was also incredibly corrupt. Both Raziel and Usiel worried for the safety of their children and how something is stirring up trouble. They reinforced the enchantments on their house and right after went out to search the city for clues on what is going on. They tried to remain inconspicuous and they didn't want to stay out for too long incase their kids woke up and looked for them. 

After a couple hours of searching they found a few demons that they quickly banished back to the demon realms after searching their minds for information on who summoned them. Meeting up back home they began making marks on a map of where they saw the demons and where the information they obtained from the summoned demons about their summoners. After awhile of discussing they couldn't see any patterns or anything but they planned to keep searching once their kids head to school. Then they would have more time to search for the cult. They also made plans to go secretly get rid of the corrupt members of the local church since they were doing more harm than good. They do all of this to make sure their kids can have a happy and safe school life and to make sure nobody dares to threaten them.

By the time they finished discussing it was almost time for the two kids to get up so they quickly cleaned up and drank an energy potion that acted like a replacement for sleep. Preparing breakfast and acting like nothing unusual was going on their kids came down for breakfast while someone knocked at the door.

Answering the door Raziel found a package from the school with Aeden's and Mihael's school uniforms. Setting them aside for later they all had a nice breakfast.
