The Trial Lands (2) (Re-written)

When I entered through the portal, I entered the place that the people named Selection Grounds.

It looks like a room but the only color here is white.

<Welcome awakener to the Trial land's selection room.>

When I entered I heard the voice. I knew this voice was that of the system.

<Detected to be of the human race.>

Like RPGs from my past life, when we enter the trial lands, there would be a character creation but with limited options.

The name, race, and bodily features remain the same unless we receive a bloodline or physique, which could alter our bodily features.

<The draw for class selection is beginning...>

Unlike what the goddess of death gifted me back before I reincarnated, here it was different. When one enters the gate for the first time, they would be given two draws. One draw determines the class and the other for talent or physique. Depending on the class, everyone would get three class skills.

The problem for me here is that when I heard about this, I didn't know what to think. I already have a class and a talent.

There was only one question in my mind. Would these draws go to waste?

Even if they did that wouldn't be a problem. The issue is that the skills obtained from the system would be linked to the class obtained from the system. My class on the other hand isn't associated with the system.

Would it mean that I won't get class skills or something else would happen?

I never thought about this matter before, when I started to gain my previous life's memories. I remember everything that happened in the presence of the goddess but there are a lot of gaps in my memories from when I was alive. I hope I get them soon.

Anyway, a few more minutes of wait and I would get the answers of what I would get or not get from the system.

<Detected that the awakener possesses a class.>

<Converting the draw into a free draw.>

A free draw? What in the world is that?

<Acquired the title: Class Breaker.>

[Class Breaker: You won't be inhibited by your class. You can process the skills of all classes. Experience would be gained irrespective of your class.]

<The draw for Talent Physique selection is beginning...>

<Detected that the awakener possesses a talent.>

<Changed the draw to selection of Physiques.>

<The draw for Physique selection is beginning...>

<... >

<Congratulations, you have acquired the Griffin Physique.>

<Do you want to merge the physique?>

<Y N>

Hmm, it is nice that I didn't lose something. Though there might be a problem with gaining new skills, I should be happy that I got a physique. If a problem arises I'll deal with with I got.

Of course, I want to merge with the physique. It would give me a lot of boost.

"Yes".

<Merging the physique with awakener.>

AAAhhhhhh...it hurts. No one in this hell ever mentioned this. Aarrgghhhh...

---

When I came back to my senses I was lying on the floor.

Why was I on the floor? Did I lose consciousness because of pain?

I don't remember passing out but I think so or I would have remembered much more the pain I felt when the Physique merged with my body. They should have mentioned this in the studies. Anyway, nothing could be done about that now.

Is the process over? Did I not get skills?

It is when I heard.

<Selction of skills starting...>

<Detected an unknown class...Divine Necromancer...>

<Examining the class...>

<Class determined as Unique and of Cosmic grade.>

Wait what?

My profession is not only unique but also belongs to the Cosmic grade. It is a gold mine for me.

There are different grades for classes starting from Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Ancient and finally Cosmic.

Among the classes, there are some unique classes. Unique classes are something only one would possess at a time.

For example, if there is a Rare Class that is Unique, then this class wouldn't appear in any other grades. Also, no one else would have the class, unless the previous possessor is dead.

Most Classes that are seen in the world are Common and Uncommon. Only a few have the classes above them and they would be in demand by everyone in the world.

The reason behind this is due to how many attributes one gains per level.

A Common grade class gains +1 to all attributes unless they are hidden attributes. For Uncommon grade is +2 for all attributes.

The Rare class gets +3, the Epic class gets +4, the Legendary Class gets +5, the Mythic class gets +7 and the Ancient Class gets +9, while the Cosmic grade gets +11.

Added to that, a Unique Class holder gets an extra +2 to all his/her attributes, even the hidden attributes. The only condition was that those hidden attributes had to be unlocked in order to gain the extra +2 per level.

So anyone with Unique titles would try to unlock them as soon as possible to gain the benefits. It would be a waste to let go of such a great chance.

Think about it may look too small in the initial levels but as the levels go up, the disparity between people increases. Who doesn't want such a powerful person under them?

The big families would look for ones who awakened Unique or Rare and above. They would bring them to their fold one way or another.

It may be either by giving a lot of resources or by threat, these big families would make the new awakeners bend their knees to them. It is the only way for them to stay at the top for a long time or else someone new would come and take their positions.

If I was just a Rare Class, they wouldn't put much interest in me but a Unique and Cosmic grade would mean a lot of power in their eyes. They would never let a lone wolf grow as they wish. They would definitely cast their eyes upon me.

I should be careful when I discuss about my class with others.

<Adjusting skills for the class...>

<Adjustment failed...>

<Random skills generated...>

<You acquired the skill, Flame Retard (Passive).>

<You acquired the skill, Lesser Regeneration (Passive).>

<You acquired the skill, Lesser Magic Reflect (Passive).>

--

[Flame Retard: You would thrive in flames. 100% resistant to all flame-based spells and attacks on the same level as you. You have better control over flames and fire spells. This extends to your pets and summons.]

[Lesser Regeneration: You'll heal better and faster than most. Even small body parts like fingers and toes can regenerate back in time.]

[Lesser Magic Reflect: Any magical attack would partially(10%) be reflected at the caster.]

--

I didn't know what to say or even think when I saw this absurdity. If anyone else was beside me, I would have asked them to slap me. This looks a lot like plot armor written for the story where the hero would be invincible at any time.

Did the goddess do this?

In a way, she did do this. If she hadn't given me those gifts before, I wouldn't have gotten this.

A necromancer is mainly afraid of physical attacks in addition to fire, life, light, and divine magics.

As a divine necromancer, the last three are out of the question, unless the attacker is too powerful. I mean, the force from their attacks would be enough to shut me down. Anyway, with this skill, now I have fire immunity too. So most of the dangerous magical attacks that could damage me are now out.

To mitigate the physical damages, I got lesser regeneration skills. Though it is called lesser regeneration, It still helps a lot.

The magic reflects skill helps too. If I get attacked by a magic spell, I receive 90% damage and the caster gets 10%. So I can damage the enemy without wasting my energy. This is a bonus.

<Would you like to open your beginner package?>

<Y N>

I immediately said, "Yes".

I think that enough time was wasted when the physique started merging with me. I should start my adventure.

<Opening the package.>

<Unable to classify your Class.>

<Randomizing the package items.>

<Congrats, you obtained a common sword.>

<Congrats, you obtained a low-level Dexterity stone.>

<Congrats, 3 you obtained coins.>

Wait, what?

What should I do with a sword?

I suppose I could use it to hunt as spells wouldn't be strong at level 1.

I can use the Dexterity stone to increase my Dexterity attribute.

The problem is the coins I received. Usually, a spell caster would receive a lot more, so that they could buy spells. Each spell costs a lot more than 3 coins.

I should do some of the beginner quests so that I would be able to buy spells.

Now I have a new fear. As a caster class, my strength would be low. Would I be able to kill monsters?

<Detected that the awakener has a free spin.>

<A free spin could give you any random item. It depends on one's luck.>

<Would you like to use the spin?>

<Y N>

Of course, I would. I just hope it would give a spell.

"Yes".

<Using the free spin...>

<Congrats you received the skill, Double Loot>

[Double Loot: The loot obtained while hunting is doubled.]

Though it isn't a spell, this looks nice. I can earn a lot easier. This will help a lot when entering trade halls or auction houses to buy or sell things.

Wait, seeing this I remember something. I do have a skill from the goddess. I think it's called Evolution or something. I wonder why it didn't respond. Maybe it would respond after I enter Trial Lands. I should be able to check my status too then.

<Would you like to enter the Trail Lands?>

<Y N>

I look forward to it.

"Yes".
