Chapter 18: To Kill Arlong Pt.2

~Third POV~

In the site where was promised by the dead Nezumi Arlong went and waited for the person to come along as he was waiting at the spot as the sun was beginning to set.

Arlong was an impatient Fishman with anger issues but will always put his race above his own life. To humans, he was a monster to other Fishman he was a good guy at heart-protecting them as Fisherman Tiger did in the past although never fully understood him.

But caring for his members that he quite understood clearly enough.

He cares for his crew even when he apologizes for accidentally biting them and, while many of his crew share his ideals. They would call him "Arlong-san" while Arlong would call his crew his "brethren". He can be very angry when someone hurts his crew, rather similarly to Luffy's feelings towards his crew.

But today was not his day as he came across the place where the supposed home of the bounty hunter killing his brethren was said to be only to find something more horrifying in his eyes as he dropped his sword.

He was moved by the sight as his heart began to slowly beat as if not recognizing the horror from his sight was not real but chose to see it, in reality, his worst fears like any other captain the deaths of the bodies of his crewmates…

The very sight of it all made him feel horror seeing the sight of his brothers that he took in his crew at the very beginning of his separation with the other Sun Fish Pirates that believed to his ideology were lying dead on the ground butchered like animals.

Pieces of their limbs, fins, heads, and their very blood already dried up by the grass as Arlong held one of their heads as tears began to form in his eyes as he talked to them, "My brethren… That MONSTER will pay for killing my crewmates… On this, I swear to all of you I will find your killer…"

While Arlong is a loathing self-hating creature to everyone, not Fishman doesn't mean he wasn't without a heart to care as he has shown to be.

The sight, however, was something he will engrave to his memory as it further increases his hate towards the monster's humans are.

*Swoosh*

*Splat*

That was when a knife was thrown at him as it landed on his shoulder as he didn't care about the wound as he merely glares at the sight of someone hiding in the trees as he spoke, "Tell me monster… how would you like to die today… to be eaten alive or boiled to death…"

*Bam*

Raising his fist in the direction of what the person was he landed it destroying the tree using a water pistol from his Fishman Karate as it destroyed it forcing the person hiding in the tree to move to another location as Arlong's eyes solely focused on the person who killed his brothers.

*Bam*

*Splat*

Another water bullet from his fist landed on the tree as it destroyed it forcing the person to move again as he threw another knife in his direction to which he used his arm to block it as he continues to talk, "You think these little tricks of yours are going to do anything? Bah! I will make you pay for killing my crewmates, you bastard!!! I WILL GUT YOU LIKE THE MONSTERS YOU ARE!!!"

Tatsumi was the one running from the sight to keep himself hidden as he continues to use his knives as he narrows his eyes at the scene as he cursed himself, 'Shit! Instead of being blindly enraged, Arlong is keeping himself tame. This wasn't part of the plan but him ignoring my attacks would be his downfall. I may have not got my initial response, but I welcome an open distraction.'

*Bam*

This has been kept going on as Arlong soon began to destroy the trees wildly with his bare fist as it forced Tatsumi to lose any opening covers for him to hop trying to keep his distance as Arlong kept on destroying the plate forms for him to use.

Tatsumi could only hop tree to tree to avoid a close-up battle with Arlong despite his rage his letting his emotions cloud his judgment from noticing something wrong from his body before it was too late.

The damage of the knives that Tatsumi brought him was no threat but the coating was once it entered the bloodstream of his intended targets. The coating was used from his world was a poison from the Class 3 Danger Beast Poisonous Viper.

While they have great strength and speed their defenses are really weak but that's what makes it very dangerous on a one-on-one fight as by making contact with its blood is filled with a powerful potent poison if it's alive.

The poison in question can cause the body's motor and bodily functions to stop working for a long period if a person were to get splashed by it but it does take a large enough of time for the poison to work. Although the cure for it is very easy to obtain is that by consuming the snake's teeth to self-cure the effects of the poison of the Poisonous Viper.

How Tatsumi got was by rare chance as Sayo and Ieyasu were all hunting together till they met one passing by and not letting a good chance of money pass by they killed it to sell its parts but Tatsumi kept the poison just in case he needed it one day.

Unfortunately for Arlong though Tatsumi only has enough to save for himself or the other members if they were unlucky to get touched by the poison from his world. He had this saved in the event if he left the village into the Empire that he would be extremely prepared.

Now his caution of keeping the poison was being used to full use as he coated the knives he threw Arlong stabbing his skin into his blood veins well soon feel the full effects of the poison if he lives through it that is.

Arlong is a Fishman so having the 10 times the strength of humans did attest to him being to move more and the poison taking a long time to take its effects before he finally succumbed to them.

Noticing that fact alone Tatsumi made sure to stall as much as possible and threw more of his knives that managed to pierce through his skin into his muscle fibers, blood vessels, and the skin itself to increase the poison dosage Arlong was taking.

Tatsumi isn't dumb to fight Arlong fairly as even Luffy at the beginning of the series was lucky to live from him because of plot armor something that Tatsumi doesn't have so he played it safe to attack using poison.

Poison is powerful on its own as even Luffy would've died if not for his plot armor.

*Splat*

Tatsumi made more of the knives strike inside Arlong as some of them were even being stuck inside as Arlong kept on destroying everything as he spoke out in rage, "You damn monster!! Let's see if you keep on those trees once they're gone! Take this [Shark Frenzy]!!"

Tatsumi saw where this was going as he flinched seeing that Arlong got his sword the Kiribachi. The Kiribachi is a giant black pole with six saw-toothed patterned black blades, resembling a shark's saw-like teeth. Its handle is that of a katana's but has no guard.

But when he used [Shark Frenzy] with his blade he suddenly started to spin around at a fast speed that Arlong looked like a miniature tornado as he sliced up everything from the trees and the ground at complete random.

This caused Tatsumi to go wide-eyed as he can't predict the fast movements as he quickly used his Semblance that he tried to use since obtaining his [Aura]. Quickly that very aura surrounding his body then became something else entirely as his protection surrounding him soon transformed into an energy-based shield.

This was Tatsumi Semblance [Construct]. Simple but effective as Tatsumi used [Construct] to create something he constructs with his thoughts creating energy-based weapons or items using his [Aura] to form them. The downside of his semblance [Construct] is that he loses all the benefits from aura all into the constructs leaving him defenseless like he was original.

*Thud*

*Bam*

The slashes of Arlong soon clashed with the construct shield blocking the attack as all of Tatsumi's aura was fueling it but the force however made Tatsumi fly back to a destroyed tree as he coughs up blood from his mouth getting hit with Arlong force behind his [Shark Frenzy].

Tatsumi still regains himself as he used the shield to take his landing as Arlong stops his attack and Tatsumi thinks to himself keeping the shield up, 'Shit! This wasn't in the manga or anime about this move! [Shark Frenzy] wasn't he originally had at all! Was this the difference or how he fights? I hate fucking things that aren't according to plan.'

Arlong for his part only grits his teeth in clear rage as he sees the person responsible for killing his brothers in his crew as he has his sword out, "You bastard… you're just a kid and yet you finished off my brothers like they were animals… I'll kill you in the worst and possible way I know and even then, my rage can't be filled for your atrocities…"

Tatsumi merely laughs at that comment making Arlong raise his Kiribachi as he will strike Tatsumi as he stands, "Hahaha… sorry but you guys are pirates. It's kind of in the job description to kill or capture pirates. If you want to blame anyone then you should blame yourself for failing your crewmates."

Arlong to Tatsumi surprised nodded at that as his eyes dilated into that of an animal finally catching his prey as all the adrenaline starts pumping into his heart as he spoke, "I agree with that one monster… I failed to properly teach my crewmates how troublesome you can be… I'll be sure to teach them that once I rip you and eat you ALIVE…"

A shiver ran down his spine as he felt the hate and determination of Arlong words as his eyes then turned deranged for a brief second as he tried to dash forward with Tatsumi holding his construct shield as Arlong spoke, "DIE YOU MONSTER –"

*Thud*

Before suddenly falling as he was then paralyzed as all of his motor functions are malfunctioning on him as he spoke surprised, "What… what is… going on…"

No need for words Tatsumi changed his energy shield to a hammer as he proceeded to slam Arlong head down for good as a loud splatting sound was made in the night. He wasn't someone that could just talk about what happen if an enemy was left hanging, he was going to take it no second chance.

*SPLAT*

As the smashed and destroyed head of Arlong was gone Tatsumi sighed as sweat was forming around his body as he talked to himself while coughing up some blood, "Cough, cough… Damn that hit there was dangerous. But frankly, the poison knives worked like a charm. Taking out the head of the enemy will make those under them fall into confusion and what perfect time than now when they are leaderless."

Taking his time to recover his strength as the construct returned to [Aura] healing him again Tatsumi took it slow to return as he thought of the quest soon to be cleared as he talked to himself, "Since Arlong is taken out of the picture. We can have Hinata transform into their leader once I deliver the news to them. That way no one will notice how Arlong is gone leaving Hinata with enough time to destroy the Arlong Park in the process. Once that happens all that's left is deal with the survivors."

As Tatsumi was thinking of survivors he was then reminded of who to spare as he thinks to himself in a forgetful tone, 'Oh right. Better tell Hinata to get all of their treasure into her storage scroll as well as the maps of East Blue. With that and the money to rob, we'll have the majority of their money so we can get something from this small adventure plus a piece of new equipment for everyone.'

As he thought of that Tatsumi soon stops himself and takes out the marine map as he sees the location of an orange farm from Nami's house as he spoke inside his mind, 'Although I would gladly take Nami work as compensation for killing Arlong. After all, we did most of the work here and I would like the cash to get some nice things once and awhile.'

With that, he went ahead to steal Nami's hard work before he tries to return to the members. He was an equal opportunist, after all, to leave no money unturned.
