Chapter 2: (Meeting T...)

"Hello?"

My eyes snapped open as I suddenly gasped a lungful of painful air. I frantically gazed around as a massive headache suddenly enveloped my mind causing me to grit my teeth. I moved my gaze around and saw a woman standing a few feet away, gazing at me with an expression filled with joy. Her eyes were practically sparkling with glee.

I took another breath and said, "Who are you?"

The woman herself was beautiful...

She had long platinum hair, light blue eyes, glossy rosy lips, and sharp cheekbones. I gazed down at her attire to see her wearing a long blue dress that appeared almost transparent. "T." I gulped at her angel-like voice and said, "What?" She floated towards me and leaned down, her dress exposing her slender collarbone. She still had a smile on her face as she said, "My name is T." I could feel my cheeks warm up as I replied, "Nice to meet you...T." T smile grew as she reached toward me with her hand, "Let me help you." I gazed down at her delicate pale hand and slowly took it into my own.

(It's warm...)

Slowly getting up onto my feet, I peered down at T to see her still smiling at me, but I also noticed that her arm was now linking with mine, and she was pressing her cheek against my arm. I could feel my heart flutter as she peered up at me with her dazzling eyes and said, "I love you."

"Pardon?"

T smile expanded as she practically pressed herself against me and muttered, "I love you!" I blanked as I gazed down at the girl happily jumping around with my arm in between her breasts.

"Do I know you?" I said, and T giggled, peering up at me, saying, "No." I raised an eyebrow, "No?"

(Then how the fuck do you know me?)

T reached up toward my face and gently cupped my cheek with her soft hand. My heart started to beat erratically. "I've been watching over you for a while." I blinked at her before saying, "Define, a while?" She giggled and backed away from me.

"Since you first came into this world."

(That's...Nice?)

Her smile waned slightly as a saddened look appeared in her eyes. When I noticed her saddened gaze, I felt my chest ache. I didn't understand why, but when I saw her expression.

I didn't want to see her make that expression again.

"How do you know me?"

My question caused her smile to grow again as she danced across the void and raised one of her hands. I watched as the very space around her hand caved inward in fascination. Slowly, a glowing golden orb appeared and floated atop her hand. She twirled her hand around the object and turned her gaze to me.

"Sorry."

I blinked in confusion, but the golden orb suddenly slammed right into my forehead before I could speak. Immediately, I felt my entire body tense up as an unimaginable amount of pain racked my body. I cried out in pain and gripped the sides of my head as my brain felt like it was splitting in two.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

It felt as if every cell in my body was ripping apart.

Then reforming, only to be ripped apart again.

Slowly, various visions and memories flashed through my eyes. It was like a movie on fast forward. Yet, I was able to make out every scene. I could see the time of my birth, my first birthday, my first wound, my first experience in sadness, rage, despair, hope, joy, happiness, and love.

Love?

A specific scene grew brighter than the rest. I felt my entire being focused upon the scene. As I watched it slowly play out.

Teresa...

I could feel tears streaming down my face. My body shook as I reached out to the memory.

Teresa was my first love.

She was the only person I ever loved. After I lost my parents, she was the only person with me. I spent every moment of my life with her. She was my beacon of hope and the person who was always by my side. In high school, I finally got the courage to ask her out.

I felt stupid...

The way she cried in joy, I felt like an idiot...

I should have asked her out long ago...

After that, we grew into a perfect couple...

Until...

She died...

I still vividly remember that day. We just finished watching a movie at the theater, and we walked down the sidewalk. We had our arms linked together, as practical hearts seemed to fly around our heads. She peered up at me with a bright smile as she jumped upwards and kissed my cheek. I smiled and gave her a sloppy one on her nose. She giggled and smiled as she wiped her nose with her sleeve.

We continued our walk, and before long, Teresa wanted a picture. She pranced away from me and walked over to the end of a crosswalk. She spun around, her platinum hair shining in the street light, as she gave me the most beautiful smile in the world. As I took the picture using my phone, I peered back up at my love.

I saw her eyes shining brightly as a gentle blush covered her cheeks.

Until...

A flash of headlights appeared, and a gruesome sound of breaking bones resounded throughout my ears. I felt something wet splatter against my face, and my stomach suddenly dropped to my feet.

Blood...

There was so much blood...

The person I loved...

No, the person I worshipped...

The one who made me laugh...

The one who made me cry...

She was lying on the side of the street, her body broken in dozens of places. Her platinum hair was coated red with blood, and the only noise was the roar of a car engine.

"I'm sorry! Oh my god!"

I couldn't register the voice from the driver. Instead, my focus was on the disfigured body of my significant other.

After that day, I was empty...

I had nothing left to live for...

So, when I died from that man's knife...

I finally felt at peace, but now...

The memories and visions vanished, and I was now staring at a familiar face. I felt tears streaming down my face as I slowly stepped forward. The person before me gave me a loving smile, her cheeks giving off a gentle blush.

"Teresa?"

She nodded, and I could see tears pouring from her eyes. I felt my heart flutter as I gently wrapped my arms around her delicate frame. She placed her face into my shoulder and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"A-Are you real?"

"Yes!" I cried as I gently rocked her back and forth. I could hear her crying as she tightened her hold around my neck. I felt my breath hitch slightly as a lump appeared in my throat.

"I'm sorry!"

I mumbled, my voice filled with sorrow and regret. Teresa shook her head as she pulled away and cupped my cheeks with her hands. As I gazed into her eyes, I could almost see the insane amount of love within.

"It was never your fault..." She leaned up and kissed me on the cheek.

Then she whispered within my ear.

"I love you."

I gave off a smile filled with love and whispered, "I love you too."
