Lost

As soon as he stepped through the portal he felt different, almost weightless. He was surrounded by numbers and letters while free falling it was exhilarating. His dad did tell him he was in for a surprise when he went through the portal, this was a surprise.

He had thought it would be instantaneous but turns out the distance between both worlds was farther than he thought. Just as he was about to reach the end something changed he started falling to the side. In an instant, he was thrown off course.

"Why did I think this was gonna go smoothly," Cyrus shook his head.

His life had been filled with difficulties since the day he was born why would it be any different now? Even so, he wasn't about to let this stop him from achieving his goals. Taking out his digivice he braced himself for whatever was on the other side. Finally, he was on the other side as soon as his feet touched the ground he took a look around. He was in a forest he couldn't see any Digimon in the area he was in. Agni came out of his digivice and landed on his head.

"Alright, we're in an unknown location first we need to find some sort of shelter and a water source. I have food but It won't last for more than a month," He thought to himself.

"Agni we'll use this situation as a way to better ourselves. I don't know how this happened. We might not be the only ones either so we gotta stay focused," he said to Agni who hopped up and down in response.

He didn't know where he was exactly but judging by how close he was to the portal exit before he went off course he should be fairly close to the city. Using the sun as a point of reference to figure out his direction he realized he was already facing north.

All he needed to do now was go straight in this direction and he should eventually reach the city. How long it would take he didn't know so after figuring out where he needed to go. He went scouting out the area where there was a stream not too far from where he was. With water secured, he looked for shelter with the help of Agni and managed to find a little cave not too far from the stream.

He threw a rock inside to make sure there wasn't any Digimon inside before he went in. Doing so turned out to be a good decision as around five Motimon came out of the cave. Even though they were In training level Digimon it seemed that living in the forest and having to fend for themselves. Made them not afraid of defending their territory, seeing the Motimon Cyrus had Agni hop off his head and stay hidden behind a tree.

Picking up some decent-sized rocks he threw one at the closest one, then moved positions. The Motimon spit bubbles in the direction way the rock came hitting nothing it slowly came over to take a look. Just as it went around the tree Agni bit it and before it could retaliate Agni shot heated bubbles from its mouth while still biting down. The Motimon died and in its place was left a bunch of floating data that Agni quickly absorbed.

Hearing the commotion and realizing the disappearance of one of their own the Motimon became angry. But being one of the smarter in-training level Digimon they didn't immediately rush over. They slowly moved towards the tree and when they got close enough they all spat out bubbles.

Except this time when the bubbles landed, they were sticky. Thinking that they had trapped the enemy they rushed over to finish it off. Too bad that this was already part of Cyrus's plan he had already called Agni back with his digivice. Using the distraction he and Agni attacked from behind Agni fired off heated bubbles at two of the Motimon.

Then rushed in and bit both of them to death absorbing their data. The other two were immediately alerted and turned around to retaliate. However, they were too slow Cyrus was already in front of them, and before they could attack he kicked both of them in the face.

Sending them flying calling Agni back to his digivice he threw it towards them Agni materialized just as they hit the ground. Quickly firing two heated bubble shots before falling and finishing both of them off with a bite and absorbing their data.

As he did so he started to glow. It was a faint glow and it didn't last longer than 10 seconds but when he was done it was clear that he had digivolved. He had grown bigger still maintaining a similar shape to his previous form except now he had legs and a tail.

"Good job Agni that went a lot smoother than I thought it would and you even digivolved to in-training level," As he said that he walked over and patted Agni on the head he was excited they were already getting stronger.

At first, he was hesitant to attack the Motimon but it was quickly replaced with the thought of survival. He wouldn't survive if he didn't get stronger he didn't have the luxury of staying in the city.

Training in safety till he and Agni became strong enough to protect themselves. They needed strength now and there was an opportunity right in front of him so he took it. The others probably hadn't even fought a wild Digimon yet or had their partners reach the in-training level.

He was already ahead and he planned to keep it that way, gathering some sticks he went inside the cave and started a fire with the help of Agni. Then finding some decent-sized rocks and sticks he used them to block off the entrance. The cave wasn't very deep into the surface and ended about 5 meters in.

Flopping down to the ground he could finally relax. Agni had already fallen asleep, the fight had taken everything out of him. The only reason he was even able to fight the Motimon was because of Cyrus's careful planning and the link between them that amplified his natural combat instincts. Materializing his digivice into his hands he took a look at Agni's stats.

Heated bubbles-shoots bubbles heated up from the heat within its body.

Agni had grown way stronger; he was already well into the in-training level only needing to reach 5.0 in all stats to digivolve to rookie. It would only get harder from here on though since there was no way they were gonna be able to sneak attack and takedown rookie Digimon as easily as they did those Motimon.

Putting out the fire he went over and laid on the pile of leaves he had made as an artificial bed and curled up with Agni. He had survived the first day but he knew it wouldn't get any easier. Even so, he wouldn't be able to do anything without energy so he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
