No one dared to make any sound. They could feel the tension around them.

Does their boss already know this woman? Why is he acting weird after he saw her face?

'Do they know each other?' Robert thought but he is sure that it is not the case. He has been following his boss from their diaper age. He is like a shadow never leaving his boss alone. So, if his boss and this woman have some history, he should have known about it.

Before Robert could muster up courage to speak, a figure approached them.

She is none other than Adrianna Danvers, the young miss of Danvers family.

She was taking a stroll and didn't know why but walked into this secluded area behind the cemetery. When she saw Mr. Fletcher was holding someone, she couldn't help but pity that person.

Mr. Aiden Fletcher is the man of the dreams for many girls. He has imposing and aloof character coupled with his extremely good looks, power and wealth. This was enough for the ladies to fan over him but he is like a God, beyond the reach.

Seeing him is itself a rare opportunity let alone Interacting with him. So, even though her grandparents are close to this man here, Adrianna interacted with him only a handful of times and that everytime she made sure not to cross the line.

And, like every time, she was about to mind her own business but after seeing the face of the person he is holding she couldn't help but interfere.

"Mr. Fletcher, she...she is my friend. Let her go" she requested, taking long and hurried steps towards them.

Following Adrianna, her brother, Kyle who was following his sister, ran towards them, equally concerned.

"Yes, Mr. Fletcher, she is my sister's friend," he explained.

Aiden narrowed his eyes in suspicion and looked at the woman in his arms, whose whole attention was still on him.

His eyes turned gentle but soon he averted his eyes. He pursed his lips and looked at the siblings who were looking at him with anticipation. .

"Is she?" he asked them who in response nodded their heads frantically.

He once again looked at the woman in his arms and he seemed reluctant to let her go.

After a few seconds he released her, his eyes still focussed on the woman.

"Sorry for the misunderstanding Ms. Danvers. We saw her hiding in the woods and couldn't help but get suspicious." Robert apologized on behalf of his boss.

"It's totally fine, Mr. Secretary. My friend here doesn't like crowds so she must have stood somewhere secluded and decided to leave unnoticed." Adrianna explained, hoping that they would not investigate this matter any further.

"I request Mr. Fletcher to let this matter go." Kyle asked, looking at Aiden hopefully.

"Fine, then. Remember to attend the meeting tomorrow" Aidentold the siblings and then turned around and simply left.

Robert looked at the trio and didn't understand why Adrianna and Kyle are so cautious and respectful around this woman. But, right now, they have many other works to do so, he didn't dwell on it for much time.

"Boss.." Robert who is sitting in the passenger seat called Aiden who is dazed and disturbed.

Till now, he has never seen Aiden let his guard down. This is the first time and the worst part is, he just spaced out and didn't recover from it.

Which is extremely rare - No, it never happened.

"What?" Aiden asked, at last coming out of his reverie.

"Boss, should I run a background check on this woman?" Robert asked.

"No..not needed" he replied, his eyes locked on the wallpaper of his personal phone.

His thumb gently brushed the face of the girl whose smile resembled the brightness of thousands of stars.

This is the smile he could never forget in his life and this is the face which invades his sleep every night, tearing his broken heart again and again.

He never even dreamt that he would get to see this face again. But her stern and cold face was like needles pricking his heart. There was no trace of the smile he craved to see…

"Sis, are you okay?" Kyle asked the woman in black who was busy fixing the scarf on her face.

After their encounter with Aiden and his men, Adrianna and Kyle literally had to drag this dazed woman back to their car.

"I am fine," the woman replied before she turned her head to look out of the window towards the direction where Aiden had stood a few minutes before. Her voice was grave and her eyes were clouded and she looked visibly restless.

"You should have actually joined us, instead of lurking like that, Anna. They are after all your biological grandparents" Adrianna interrupted, as she boarded the car after instructing the driver that she would be driving.

"Ria, don't start it again. I am in no mood for this conversation" a woman named Anna warned, her eyes still glued to the road.

Meanwhile, Adrianna (Ria) could only roll her eyes and look at Kyle, whose eyes are still puffy after crying for this long.

He is still mourning for his grandparents unlike his biological sister, Anna who remained stone hearted even after her grandparents sudden demise.

"Anna, I think this is the right time for you to announce that you are the real granddaughter, the rightful heir of the company" Adrianna abruptly said, heedless to Anna's annoyed tone.

After all Anna is her best friend and old couple Danvers are like her own grandparents. So, she couldn't help but worry about the Danvers family.

Anna is the real heiress and Adrianna, whose real name is Ria, is just an imposter.

"Yep. There will be a meeting tomorrow, sis. It is to decide who will be the next CEO" Kyle added, looking at Anna who is still distracted, looking outside the window.

He never understood why his overly ambitious and highly accomplished, extraordinary sister preferred to stay in the shadows rather than basking in the limelight.

All their relatives, branch families and executives from the company always derided their grandparents for having incapable, impotent and irresponsible grandchildren. But little they knew that the real heiress is someone who could make them bow to her with a snap of her finger.
