Aether Evil Element

Lucas sat and leaned to the wall beside the door, with a book on his lap. It was the heavy book that he used to attack the Devil, which resulted in a failure. He already moved on to it, though, and he was now engrossed to read the content of the book.

The wall to the left has markings of a straight line, and the four lines would be slashed by a single diagonal line. These lines represent the day that has passed since he arrived in the world… from his memories.

He didn't think it was already behind a single month, and Lucas ignorantly recorded the day passed according to his hunch. There was no day and night to keep track of the time, so he would only slash it whenever he felt like it.

It might not be accurate, but still, it could serve as a purpose and reminder of the time he spent in the small room before he would escape… unless he could.

For now, the lines conveyed eight days have passed, and right now, Lucas was reading while trembling with bony hands, flipping the page with strenuous effort. His throat was already dry, and so was his mouth. His lips appeared akin to the soil after experiencing days of El Niño.

He was skinny like a bag of bones, his skin was pale white, lacking vitality, and every move he made was sluggish. It was already one thing for Lucas to survive a month in a coma without food or nutrients to keep him from starving, but right now… he was suffering from starvation.

Eight days earlier, after cleaning the room, he felt hungry and thirsty, and only then he realized he didn't have food and water. It brought him a great shock, and couldn't help but facepalm himself when he realized it.

He didn't think the Devil would bring him food because eight days had passed since then, and the Devil didn't visit him.

Therefore, the plan to study and research the teleportation magic array was put on hold, and seek for other books to solve his problem.

The book on his lap right now contains knowledge about Aether. He picked it up after discovering it could solve his problem.

The book stated that the Aether was the universal element and/or essence that existed in every living being. But some couldn't interact with it, or simply, some other worlds don't have a high concentration of Aether in the atmosphere, making its inhabitants couldn't utilize the Aether.

He couldn't help but connect it to the inhabitants of Earth.

Anyway, how the Aether was connected to his starvation because the book stated that utilizing the essence of the Aether in every living being could enhance their vitality. Lucas didn't dwell yet on how Aether could aid the living being to attain supernatural powers.

He spent most of his time studying how to utilize Aether and control it to flow every part of his body to create a replacement for food and water. But to perform it, he needed a suitable environment to absorb more Aether from outside and act as a fuel to use it to produce a movement.

Aether was universal, but it had branches of individual elements, so some worlds have a single branch of Aether with high concentration. The Devil's Realm naturally has a high concentration of the Aether Element of Evil, and with the inhabitants being born naturally with the Aether Element of Evil inside their body, their affinity was excellent, so they could use it at will.

It made them attain a higher realm too!

It was also why Devil was a higher existence because of their perfect affinity with the Aether Evil Element.

Devil Realm is a world solely created for the devil race. If the devil race lived in a world where its Aether had a high concentration of opposing elements, then it was impossible for them to utilize their Aether, and it would affect them too, such as weakening and reaching their limit.

Hence a suitable environment was needed to utilize the Aether in their body.

In conclusion, the Aether provided by the world helped the inhabitants to become stronger and attain a higher realm.

And when they attained a Realm where food and water were only needed for mortal consumption, then they could be considered Immortal from the Wuxia world.

Lucas didn't dream of reaching it yet since he couldn't even determine what Aether branch his body contained the essence of!

He could only hope he had an affinity with the Evil Element, even only slightly.

Finally, Lucas closed the book and placed it beside him while wavering. It took him some time to position himself in a lotus form, and he closed his eyes to perform a breathing technique to inhale the Aether in his surroundings.

He followed meticulously what was stated in the book: the breathing rhythm, heightening his senses, emptying the mind, and feeling the Aether.

He hasn't felt the Aether yet, worse he didn't even see one. Thus, the first try would naturally be difficult.

He was now confident, though, since he completely memorized the book contents and understood its message and information without misapprehension. As for why he was so patient despite feeling fatigued, confused, and having other side effects from not eating and drinking straight for eight days?

It's because of the consequences stated in the book if things go wrong!

It stated there was a high chance to be crippled if the Aether didn't flow smoothly and correctly. If the Aether stayed on his stomach, and he couldn't even breathe it out since the passage has now changed as a result of his lack of control and memory, then it would inflate until it exploded!

The scary revelation frightened Lucas, resolutely concluded he would not perform the breathing technique until he was confident.

Lucas was closing his eyes, having his serene expression, but only he himself was aware of how nervous he was. Thankfully, the breathing rhythm made him calm down.

Time passed, and Lucas didn't feel a bit impatient, and the wait was finally rewarded when a wisp of red shade appeared in his vision. He emptied his mind, and with his eyes closed, all he saw was darkness.

But now, he perceived a wisp of red shade levitating in his vision. He was visibly excited as he shivered for a while before realizing he was not focusing, so he scolded himself silently and forced himself to calm down.

Thankfully, the wisp of red shade wasn't frightened by the show of extreme emotion and was still floating before him. Quickly recalling the book on how to attract the wisp of the red shade, he breathed in slowly, trying to inhale it.

But then, he was shocked to find out another wisp of red shade appeared, and before the first one got sucked by his nose, myriads of them appeared.

It was then he realized his affinity with the Aether Evil Element seemed not bad…
