Several months had passed since Andar was sent to the Wall, after convincing his father to act against Lord Grafton only after Jon Arryn confirmed his status as heir to House Arryn, Artys continued to oversee the construction of the city, the expansion of his armies and of course the progress of industry.

Thanks to a Chemistry department, which he formed with alchemists hired from King's Landing, he was able to refine a large amount of TNT, which was instrumental in rapidly expanding the operations of House Royce's many mines, which fueled the growing industries.

The city walls were fully erected, the complex set of city walls was made on the basis of the renaissance and early modern period star fortress platform of its earlier life, it was built with steel reinforced concrete blocks. At the edges of the wall would be a series of pointed fortifications called bastions that eliminated blind spots and allowed defenders to shoot at besiegers from all angles. Above these ramparts would be the knights, an elevated structure built entirely inside the bastion that acted as a secondary line of defense, allowing more cannons and musketeers to defend the same place on the wall.

As far as the army was concerned, three full infantry battalions (1200 each), 2 full artillery battalions (450 each) and a full cuirassier battalion (1200 each) were assembled and armed to act as the First Field Army of Runestone. Forts were built between the inhabited regions and are fully garrisoned. Artys also used his position as Defender of the Vale and sent garrisons to 'reinforce' the Bloody Gate and the Gates of the Moon and wait for the 'guests' to appear.

The fleet that he had begun to build at the Runestone shipyard already had 30 Frigates of war of the fifth category, armed with 36 guns of 32 pounds and grenade launchers. The frigate was a fast and maneuverable single-deck ship. With a fleet of these ships, there would be no one who could challenge his authority on the seas. However, not only were frigates being built, but they also had 40 Clippers for trade and transport armed with 4 guns of 12 pounds. The Clipper was a high-speed, long-range vessel. Putting these new ships together with the fleet of 150 stationed in Essos, which Artys had finished arming with cannons and could call upon at any moment, he feared no fleet in Westeros.

As for city dwellings, with continuous efforts by the construction team, a series of affordable and comfortable tenements were erected to reduce the terrible conditions that ordinary people had to endure as a result of the rapid increase in population and urbanization. With plumbing and sanitation, the risk of an outbreak of a dangerous disease has been significantly reduced.

Continuing on to the topic of Agriculture, the agricultural initiatives proved to be a resounding success as serfs were freed and farmers who chose to remain in the fields were given the tools and knowledge necessary to tend their fields with a minimal amount of work, resulting in at the highest possible yields. This year's harvest was several times greater than any other in Runestone's history. As such, a lot of grain was stored to support the population for years to come.

Artys also organized a Department of Education, schools began to be built and there was a rapid increase in literacy rates. Which provided better qualified workers for various positions.

As Artys reminisced and basked in the glory of his accomplishments, in the capital of Westeros, the time had finally come. The old Hand of the King lay lifeless on his deathbed. With her death, the stability and peace he worked to maintain on the continent and the kingdoms that made it up would come to a brutal end.
